So far so good. I am slightly concerned that the description of my order no longer includes the specific UPC code: *******79959. I specifically want this version and hope that this is what the seller HPB Movies will provide (as was listed).
If I put a one star rating (I won't bore you with the reasons) and your response is: 'Oh you can't possibly mean that - would you like to think again?' then you are just inviting an even more negative response. Try not to be so irritating.
I was looking for this manga for a very long time and i'm just shocked and happy to have found it
Got the book I wanted in stock at a good price. As usual.
First choice for online book purchases.
Found just what I needed...as usual.
First port of call for books.
Always my first port of call for books.
Found just what I wanted even though it's a fairly obscure title.
Used before
Easy! Found just what I was looking for.
My favourite source of second-hand books.
Preferred source of books, especially second hand.
Returning customer.
Always enjoy shopping at Alibris; a great place for bargains.
Used before.
So far very good. I used to use Alibris a lot some years ago but when I couldn't find the titles I wanted I went elsewhere. However, decided to once again start using Alibris and found the item straight away at a very good price. Thank you.
Best choice and price.
Have been ordering for many years and very happy with the work and services you provide. I only wish that there were a dedicated phone number to speak with someone on problems and issues.
Many thanks,

For many years, always reliable...
It s my go to...
Always happy with Alibris. I m a long time customer.
All the best,
Tom Dolan
The instruction "Press the Confirm Order button only once" is misleading and causes unnecessary anxiety, because it is usually necessary to press it twice (sometimes several times) to get it to work at all.
It is a great inconvenience that books on Alibris are no longer reliably (or apparently even mostly) signalled by BookFinder.
Because of the voucher offer.
Your website no longer works properly on my computer. It's lost a lot of the formatting; in particular, the buttons are not visible until AFTER I've pressed the wording on them, and the instruction to press the "Complete purchase" button only once is impossible to obey, because it takes several pressings to get it to work.
To take advantage of a discount while books I was interested in were cheapest (or very nearly so) on Alibris.
In the last month Alibris formatting has stopped appearing properly on my computer. In particular the buttons no longer appear as such, but are undistinguishable from ordinary typing.
Because a group of books I was interested in were simultaneously available more cheaply on Alibris than on ABE.
All the copies of one of the books I bought cost on Alibris about £3 more than BookFinder said they did. This sort of thing has been happening a lot recently. Someone needs to give BF a rocket, to make their representation of prices more honest. The booksellers concerned were American ones, but I think it has to do with price rises just not notified to/on BookFinder, not with exchange rates.
Many books are entered at prices several pounds lower than their actual prices, and/or with several entries at different prices for the same book. The system needs to be changed so that booksellers have to discard the obsolete lower-priced entries before entering the higher-priced one.
Because some books on my watch-list were apparently at bargain prices on Alibris (some but not all of which were real).
Most of the prices of books I intended to buy were higher, some very much higher, than they appeared on Bookfinder, so that I wasted a lot of time on books which it was either not economical to buy via Alibris or not really worth buying at all.
It would be more convenient if rebate vouchers were based on costs including not excluding postage.
Because the voucher offer coincided with another firm’s cancellation of an order roughly equivalent to the total of these.
Because the cost of postage from the U.S.A. is far less than with ABE. The negative side of that is that books usually take far longer to arrive, but there is no urgency in this purchase.
It is very unhelpful that you do not include information about shipping costs in the prices you quote, but make customers waste a lot of time typing address etc. for a draft order for each bookseller separately to discover which of them is actually offering the best bargain.
Because ABE, whose systems are more user-friendly, did not list the book I wanted (although all the sellers I checked do also sell on ABE) and Alibris did.
Asking for my debit card details, again, puts me on guard that this may be a scam. I tried to avoid doing so by checking out as a guest but still had to go through the procedure. This worries me and detracts from buying books from you.
Past customer.
The site does not seem to recognise my password forcing me to order as a guest.
I am an old, satisfied customer.
The payment details form is a bit obscure, failing to highlight the need to enter the card provider. This surely should be obvious in the card's long number and I had to do the whole procedure over again.
Trusted supplier, never any problems after many years of dealing.
Site offered but refused to proceed with a PayPal payment option
Site offered but refused to proceed with a PayPal payment option
Because the description of the text I was looking for seemed more exhaustive
It had the cheapest price of the title I was looking for
Happy New Year.
It's always problematic for me when the shipping address appears as last one used.
Maybe 2024 will be the year when the default address appears as the user's address or the user has the option to select which address appears within their account settings?
Here's hoping.
Price - linked from bookfinder
Terrible experience with addresses defaulting to random choices on the list.
To rectify an error.
Sick of how the site defaults to the last used address and doesn't allow an order to be amended immediately after placing if this happens.
To fix a mistake.
It's OK but not exceptional - hate that you really have to be attentive about addresses and that it won't let you change once you've ordered. Always a tense experience.
Convenience - discount
Quick, easy, cost-effective.
Very difficult to navigate - and past experience relating to inability to change a mistake in shipping address or cancel order within a short timeframe after placing as is possible on Amazon makes me reluctant to use the site.
Discount available
Alibris has a huge offer of used books at a convenient price. I have found here several difficult-to-find or expensive book which are in good conditions and perfectly useful.
Just one suggestion. It would be convenient to expand the payment options with, for example, Paypal or other non-credit based options.
Because I fount the book I was looking for cheaper than in other bookshops.
I had seen the two copies last night, then they seemed to have been bought, but I am finding them again this morning. Since I need the book badly for an exposition, never mind. It was a great transaction in any case. Thanks!
You remembered me from previous transactions several years ago. Glad you did, it saved time looking for another bookstore and money. I had found another copy in the US but they refuse to do business with Europe. Their loss as I buy lots of books from the US now I can't resume traveling to DC every three months due to the Covid. Let's hope the pandemic will stop soon.
There was something very odd in the payment area/card number - 1st card used message said number incorrect - which I corrected but it didn't refresh properly. After several attempts went back to the beginning and started again... frustrating as unable to completely edit all the fields hence starting from scratch
When trying to pay by credit card the screen does not offer me an option to enter my security number on the card. So I have to leave the site then return then it offers me such an option. This is frustrating.
Usually quick and easy to use.
Ethically superior to amazon. Treat your workers better, I hope.
Clear, easy to use. And treat your worker better than amazon.
Easy to use. No need for complex password. Often have book I want, and cheap or second hand copy.
Easy to use. Ethically treats staff better than amazon.
Easy to use. I object to how amazon treats its workers. Therefore prefer alibris
Quick easy to use, more ethical in how you treat your workers than Amazon
Ethically good and efficient, books not using planes to deliver them.
Easy to use. Often has the book I want. So a wide choice.
More ethical in its treatment of its workers than amazon.
It is more ethical than amazon. Amazon for example treats its workers very poorly.
Hard to retain UK site even when requested on search. Defaulting to US. Card payment 'rejected' as result of abbreviated first name but no clear path what to do next. Thankful CC company picked up and texted pathway to complete purchase safely. (I hope)
Had book I wanted - in UK - mostly found overseas
This is my second attempt some two weeks later to secure the purchase of this particular book which never arrived albeit I have no record of a confirmation that a previous payment was ever received. The error may be mine but if your records please let me know. Thank You
Took ages to tell you did not have what I ordered. Looked at your listings and found a vendor (of yours) that is based here in U.S.
However shipping says it must go to you for distribution rather than direct to me. More delay…
Option for PayPal offered but would not work. Had to request clarification and got a quick but confusing reply which said PayPal not available to U. K. buyers; I'm purchasing from the U.S. where I am a citizen.
Due to high ratings as a used book vendor.
I find alibris to be typically more expensive than other sites, while its interface is strangely awkward. It keeps forgetting my password (a security feature?!) and I don't think your PayPal button is working!
Abe Books didn't have the title I wanted!
The journey here was fine...
I don't like Amazon for political reasons. Alibris is often too expensive, though, with the same books via the same suppliers being listed at twice the price they are on Amazon. Abe Books often works out cheaper. On this occasion, it didn't.
I just discovered this website. If everything goes well, I will be very satisfied, since I save a lot of money compared to buying english books on Amazon, even taking into account the high shipping costs.
I like to read english non fiction books and looked for an alternative to Amazon in order to save money (see above).
Clean, easy to use basket. Would appreciate PayPal but not essential, I understand they can be robbing bastards with their fees. Thanks for selling used books and not being Amazon, you beautiful people.
Partly that you're not Amazon, but also that you have reasonably priced books.
Your checkout process was like a minefield tripping me up at every turn - a very unpleasant experience with address elements that I had not selected being inserted from the past and retained against my will and very hard to change back to what I wanted. The expiry field appeared already filled so I did not see that it needed alteration. The card type box was almost invisible. Perhaps 10 goes before all was correct.
I sent you an email a long time ago saying that I was having a great deal of trouble ordering. Your basket kept kicking me out saying my credit card details needed reviewing when they did not and have never failed me on other sites.
So far so good, although I haven't received my product yet! Alibris is an easy site to navigate and I found what I wanted without any problems. However, it appears slightly dated in interface design, which made me slightly wonder how secure it was. I then landed on the payment page, which also didn't install me with secure confidence. However, fingers crossed everything will be OK. But that's my feedback.:-)
I found alibis via Google. I particularly wanted this specific book to add to my collection and it was available at a good price.
Extortionate delivery charges - per book even if purchasing from a singular supplier. I chose Blackwells and i know they do free delivery on their own site, had to use Alibris to get books not listed there.
Lack of alternatives for some titles
Email with voucher only good for over £20 which was of no use as only wnted one book. When resetting my password I couldn't get back to the order page easily and had to reopen site. And then the book I ordered was only showing up as the hardback version so I then had to start all over again for the third time! Frustrating to say the least.
Email offering a discount but this was just a marketing ploy as you had to spend over £20 for it to qualify which meant you would have to spend more than you would have originally.
A straight forward process of ordering the book of my choice..
I was offered a range of used books at an acceptable price.
