Very impressed w/ orderly arrangement of products for sale, e.g., music, books, movie, etc. Makes sense! Also, the choice of sellers is easy to understand & navigate--I contacted one book seller Solr by email to find out if the used book they were selling was highly dusty (allergies) & they emailed back w/ details & evident concern. Alibris is now my "go-to" source for great prices, selection & quality of sale. Thanks for doing a great job!
Very Difficult to change shipping address. Had to quit internet browser and log back in again. Shipping choices limited. I know from past purchase that independent sellers can take their sweet time shipping items and often do. Why does alibris appear to charge at 1st class parcel rates and deliver at slower and cheaper media mail rate? Delivery window excessively wide.
It sucks that you ran out of that book before I could get it in the mail. So I am giving it another try. I'm taking an online class. This is a required text. Wish me luck! Love, Linda in Mount Shasta California.

Ordered 4 books, 2 orders were "cancelled" days after my order. Replacement items are more expensive, arrive later, and require more transactions and email checking. Perhaps Alibris should charge sellers a $1 cancellation fee.

Items i selected but did not immediately purchase were no longer available a few minutes later. I suspected it was due to my previous selection as both were obscure. Ended up not buying one because remaining copies were over double the price. Very frustrating.

I landed a hardback copy of "The Killer Angels" in excellent condition for less than the price of a comparable paperback copy. Included original dust cover. Very prompt, secure shipping at reasonable cost. The website is not the easiest one I've navigated, but it proceeds logically.
I was looking for a hardback edition of a particular book at a particular price point, and I couldn't find that combo on Amazon.

Very good overall. I quickly found the title I was looking for at my price point. Entering the order was simple & quick. One quibble: I would have appreciated a picture of the actual book I was buying, since I am buying used, not just a generic picture of that edition.

I ordered 2 DVDs, and it took almost a month to receive them. There's no tracking number outside the USA, so international shipping results in the package taking a random amount of time. Not good, since it went over the expected arrival date.
I'm glad it eventually came, but I had no idea if it would even arrive.
I used Alibris before and it was fine, but this gave me some concerns. Next time, I'll have to consider more carefully.

Great website, very little issues, easy to use. The better deal feature will keep me as a happy return customer. Sometimes the book gets sold before they can update it. So you get a refund, not too big of a deal. I have already shared the site with a friend.

Would be nice to have the knowledge of shipping cost before putting into shopping cart or before proceeding with order. (Ebay does this well--makes it easier to keep track of costs and even do comparison.)

The delivery took 17 days, if I remember correctly. But that was NOT the problem. Price was good for the product. Product was in perfect condition. But, I did not receive a tracking number, so I was given no knowledge as to delivery date, or even if product was in transit. I did not mind the long wait. Communication of tracking info would helped everything.
Well, it was during the time of the Alibirs webpage shut down. But at least Alibris stated that there was a problem.
Good experience with Alibris in past. Have never before had a tracking problem.

My kids are ripping through series and I need to buy the next ones used because I can't afford to keep up with their pace and the library doesn't have them in stock. Alibris saves the day! They made it easy to find and choose books, and they were in our mailbox quickly. (I do wish there were a way to see if I could get multiple books from the same location to save on shipping, but I know that might be asking too much.)
Very low prices on the books my kids wanted. I wish I could pay more, but they go through them so fast... I'm grateful I can get in on the used market and keep them circulating.

The only aspect that falls short of expectations is the delivery times. School starts and we need books, we can't wait two weeks to get a book. I had to be the ebook because of this long duration of time. Probably won't buy another physical copy while in my program for this reason.
About shipping times, unhelpful as the vendor does shipping.

Was extremely concerned my book purchase was going to be declined by the receiving facility. I was sending some books to incarcerated individuals and there are strict protocols about wrapping and package receipt. Luckily, they passed with flying colors! Thanks!

I have found a great range of movies that are almost always in great condition when I receive them. Only once did I have an issue and the cd was replaced immediately! Can't ask for better service when buying used products. Thank you Alibris!

I do a lot of research and also am a collector of books of all sorts. Many volumes I seek are either out of print or otherwise difficult to find. The amazing group of booksellers under the Alibris umbrella make it really easy to find what I'm looking for. I've been using Alibris for a long time so my comments are based on my overall experience and not a specific order I've placed. The descriptions and conditions have always been accurate. Sometimes the shipping charges have been more than the purchase cost but still reasonable. I highly recommend Alibris!

When I'm looking for a particular book I check my library first. Then I often find I can't find it locally either. Alibris never fails me! I always look for new or at leastm the best condition volumes... Bingo every time. Never disappointed!

Ordering this book in "like new" condition from a store in Reno, NV. While checking out as guest, site told me I had an account. Did not remember password so had to "change" it to log in. After all that, the page with my book was no where to be found and nothing sowed up in my cart. I went back to start order over again again and now it's coming from Illinois in lesser condition! Why didn't my cart "hold" for log in?

These comments pertain to a recent prior Alibris order, where shipper sent a book item (one item of a multiple item order) that clearly was defective/damaged prior to shipment and should not have been sent (sign of poor QC and packers (persons?) or automated don't care. This was the first time I have had such a problem with an Alibris order; and dealing with Alibris to get this matter corrected (i.e., return defective item for replacement) has been very difficult and problematic, unlike dealing with a competitor, which amazingly makes the process much easier and faster when such issues arise. Alibris CS is slow and not easy (problem obtaining return label) and via e-mail only, no CS phone line.
Chose Alibris hoping to have a good experience which I customarily have had dealing with Alibris. Prices are usually good, the coupons are an additional benefit, and the online purchasing process is generally easy and good, at least until you may have a problem, then the Customer Service resolution process is slow and cumbersome.

Generally have always been satisfied with purchases made with Alibris as to price, quality and condition of items and shipping, and reasonable delivery times. Recent slowness of delivery may have been due to shipper and/or due to recent several days downage of Alibris website and presumably ability to process recently placed orders.
Alibris CS was only able to provide same info as was available on USPS Tracking with regard to status and unusually long delay in receiving shipment of recent order.
General overall satisfaction with Alibris as to variety of offerings, availability of selections being in stock, item prices, availability of additional discount coupons for orders of certain dollar amounts, availability of free shipping under certain conditions of order size for items supplied directly by Alibris rather than third-party sellers on Alibris, and usually good shipping and delivery times.

I usually buy my books in person, but I've been wanting this series for the longest time so I decided to look for a good online book purchase. I have maybe went through 3 other websites before I found this one. Every other website either didn't accept my payment it was just sketchy. Overall I have enjoyed my experience with Alibris!

Great shopping experience- Searched by title and the exact book I wanted came up first in the results. There was an abundant choice of new and used books to choose from. I filled my cart and checked out within a matter of minutes.
I always go to Alibris for used books. Alibris has the best choice of available and out of print books from which to choose. Most books are at an amazing price.

Helped my brother out and bought him a book he needs to have but won't bother ordering on his own. Found an excellent price, and it made it to him no problem. I suppose what should be noted is that there were no problems shipping to a different name and address so long as the billing address was correct and verified. Sending inexpensive surprise gifts is no problem! Thanks!
