Frustrating - I hated that I couldn't see the shipping until the very last page. It also took 3 different credit cards to finally get one accepted... evidently it didn't like my billing address.

The fact that shipping prices aren't included makes it less worthwhile to consider the coupons. I would prefer if you offered fewer coupons at a higher % off.
I prefer purchasing used instead of adding to the waste stream. Alibris offers a lot of options in one place.

I love the prices that are offered by alibris, but the shipping coast ALMOST made me change my mind about ordering the number of books that I did, or ordering any books at all. The shipping coast almost equaled the coast of the books - that is ridiculous!

These 3 titles originally were authored by Colonel Colin McVeagh Gubbins, in 1938 or 1939. In that Day, the British government fully expected to be defending London, from German invaders, in the streets thereof. In fact, the book, How to Use High Explosives, was originally entitled, "The Housewife's ABC of Homemade Explosives". I almost did not find the changed titles, or changed author.
Alibris (and Abebooks), are my most reliable sources of out-of-print books.

I have tried to order the same book three timers from Alibris sellers. The first try was "lost in the mail," the second, cancelled as "no longer available" by the seller, this is my third try.
I am looking for a rare book. My experience has not been good so far.

I ordered 3 books, only 1 of the 3 came in correct. Sent back the other 2 valued at over $100 and received a refund of less than $5 for shipping. Now my daughter was out 2 weeks in college without books and now I am out my money. They have my money plus the 2 books to resale. DO NOT USE THIS SITE! THEY ARE THIEVES!

I mark it down because I have to fight my way through listings by HPB to find a copy of a book that I want to buy actually properly described, so that I can make an informed decision about whether or not to buy it.
I have been shopping here for over a decade, but increasingly I find myself seeking out individual booksellers because of the way the site is designed.

I am really tired of HPB blocking up the lists of available copies of books. Are they owned by alibris? It's ridiculous that they can offer up multiple copies of the same book for the same price merely by changing the store name -- those books all ship from the same warehouse. And then we, the buyers, have to scroll past a dozen or more of the same copies of a book to see any other options.
I've been buying here for over a decade, but you're making it more and more difficult.

Tired of HPB hogging up the "price low-to-high" listings. It would help if you required the "description" to be actual description of the book and not just advert of how great the seller is. At least then one could get accurate conception of the book on offer.

It's too bad that HPB has more or less taken over most of the book selling here. They're not the best place to buy books, and sometimes it costs me a few dollars extra to avoid them. Beyond that, I've been buying through alibris for many years, and will continue to do so.

I don't like the fact that alibris has pretty much been taken over by two chains, Half Price Books and Great Book Prices. I prefer to buy from *independent* bookstores. When prices are affordable from actually independent stores, I choose them and avoid these two.

Condition of books by 80% of sellers is a "canned" explanation offering no condition explanation at all.
This often makes me not order a book that I would like to purchase.
