Prices have gone up... more than expected, discount coupons are not as useful (enough) as before...
Have used it before (when it was easier than it is now): some features are glitchy now and displays don’t work with some browsers or browser settings; irritating enough that I shop far less on Alibris compared with a decade ago, or even longer. AND, “free shipping” is not always accurate; AND “minimum amount” to qualify is too high now; AND discounts for spending in the current “tiered” system, in order to qualify for minuscule percentages are hardly worth them. EVEN THOUGH, my total was more than $45, that being AFTER TAXES and SHIPPING, I still did not reach the minimum amount; AND FINALLY, it is very irritating that the total amount calculated seems to apply to items, made me delete the other item I was going to order through Alibris — so, now, I shall consider other alternatives. DESPITE COVID problems, I now regularly order through an online bookshop in the UK, still get them fast enough, and there are never any shipping chargesand their prices are competitive or better, rarely higher, and when higher it is worth not having to calculate and place things in and take them out of my “basket” trying to qualify for all this that is worth my time any longer. Items’ availability and conditions of items, and reliability of certain vendors are clearly not as good as it used to be at Alibris. Often SOME vendors are not responsive, or items are not exacly as described, but not worth my extra time and effort to”return” something (or try to), only to start this process again. I am gettingtoo old for jumping through hoops.
