In the course of placing my order, it took me forever for me to find on your site a way to send a book to a third party. For a long time I did not think that this would be possible.
Bookfinder.com listed Alibris as the intermediary for a book that I wanted.

I HAD TO INPUT MY CARD NUMBER SEVERAL TIMES. IT WAS REJECTED EACH TIME. I KNOW I HAVE AVAILABLE CREDIT ON IT AND IT IS NOT LOCKED BECAUSE I USED IT ABOUT AN HOUR AGO. I FINALLY GAVE UP AND USED ANOTHER CARD. IT ONLY MADE ME REDO THE CARD INPUT TWICE BEFORE GRACIOUSLY ACCEPTING PAYMENT FROM ME.

In addition to PayPal, you might consider adding Shopify. Both of these mean you don't have to get up and go retrieve your wallet and credit card to make a purchase.

I have had such good luck with Alibris. Books are received within the time estimated, and usually in pretty good condition. I have always been able to find what I want.

When shopping for multiple items its onerous to try to bundle them under one seller to avoid extra shipping charges. Surely there's a way to enable customers to do this easily?

The website offers easy shopping for used books, providing plenty of choices. The shopping cart then offers a simple optimization to reduce shipping costs, if that is of note or concern.
My "go to" place for used books

I purchase items on several used book sites. This is the most difficult to use. I have difficulty in getting to the contents of "my cart" when at the alibris window.
Even with the set postage charge, alibris had the lower price for the condition of the item.
