I'm pleased with my purchase. Great book, great price. It just took forever to receive. Ordered 4/14, received (by the giftee) 5/6.
Alibris customer service followed up with me a couple days after I placed my order. I'm a new customer and since this book was a gift, the recipient's name and address did not match the billing name and address. So, that was great. I appreciated the extra security. When the book finally shipped, about a week after the order was placed, it was a LONG time between when it was picked up by a third-party shipper and when USPS tracking finally showed the package received by USPS and moving. After 8 or 10 days, I did reach out to Alibris customer service. Later that day, I finally saw movement in the tracking info. I don't know whether Alibris customer service had anything t do with that. I think not. The next day (Saturday) I received an email from Alibris acknowledging my query and directing me to follow up with the seller. The package was finally received by my giftee on Monday.
It was my first time. Alibris had a great price on a new book, and it's not Amazon.

Quick and easy. Clean interface which is informative and asks all the right questions in the right order. Attempts to get me to sign up for crap were toletably limited.
Of the sites which were offering the books I was seeking, this was the most transparent, informative, and well-presented. It allowed me to easily see exactly which editions I was purchasing and find the ones I was looking for. It made clear who and where the sellers were. It isn't Amazon or Wal-mart or some other hideous multi-national corporation.

Alibris is a pretty-good website. It's easy to navigate. Most people would probably give it five stars but I'm critical of other programmers and don't easily grant perfect ratings.

It's very easy to search for and locate books, as is checking out. I've also found that my items are often delivered more quickly than those shipped by A... on.
When I use A... on, I get a lot of spam e-mail. Your books also usually ship faster.
