For 5 months Amazon KDP seems to be doing everything to prevent my "fictional" novel from being read. After not posting any ads or Sales Data, inflating the price by one hundred times, and refusing multiple video book trailers, they reduced the Look Inside feature to only show 5% of the text rather than the standard 20%. When I brought this to their attention and included a screenshot only showing up to page 13 of 260 (about 5%), and a screenshot showing their standard rule of showing 20%, I received a reply saying "We're no longer accepting requests to increase or decrease the reading sample on books. Your book will continue to show a default percentage of the contents to help customers make purchasing decisions, 10% for eBooks and 20% for paperback and hardcover." So I again contacted KDP Support and again made it very clear that Amazon was only showing 5% instead of the standard 20%, and I received a reply saying, "We need a little time to look into the problem with technical team and manually fix it. We'll reply and send you more information within 2-3 business days." 8 days later they said they'll fix it in 2 to 3 days. Then the price of the paperback went back up to $180.60 and after reporting that a week ago it still shows "Currently Unavailable". As for not posting ads, after waiting 2 months they did not explain why no ad impressions showed over 24 days, gave no reasons for denying all book trailers, and to date, the ads show a total of 8 clicks. If you are thinking of publishing a book on Amazon, make sure it doesn't have a plot involving a group of elites who control the media and don't want decentralized currencies and reasoning AI that dissipates knowledge, stops fake news, disinformation, misinformation, identifies corporate and government corruption, and more.
Amazon Direct Publishers provided me with the guidance and support I needed to promote my book effectively. I highly recommend their PR services.
Amazon Direct Publishers has been instrumental in improving my productivity and has helped me shift from being just a blogger to being an author!
I perceived publishing as a tiring ordeal. Now, I look forward to publishing because of how convenient they made the whole thing feel.
Book enthusiasts and authors James Finney and Mila Schneider were like two peas in an odd pod. They connected online with a single common thread; their shared love for literature. After investing hundreds of hours on literary debates, they finally tied the knot in 2014.
With their desire to take their love for literature to the next level, the Finneys set up a home office where they would ghostwrite projects for clients. As this micro-venture gained traction among the literary community, the Finneys decided to go full-throttle and involve more people, thus marking the birth of what would later be known as Amazon Direct Publisher.
