“GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE”

I have been a customer for several years. Multiple glasses and lenses purchased due to changing eyes. The staff at America's Best in York, PA have been great to work with. When their supplier for a sun glass frame had difficulty with the lenses, they provided alternatives and worked with me. I experienced excellent service from the staff. Mike the manager was involved and was super to work with. Next time I need glasses I'll be back. I recommend the York, PA America's Best! - Doug D.

I ordered 2 sets of glasses online on 7/4/24, they showed estimated ship date of 7/14/24. It's now 7/19/24 and I can't even get a status update, after waiting over 30 minutes on hold I gave up and left a voicemail message. We'll see if I get any response from "customer care" or should I say "customer, we don't care".

I was a previous customer. I looked up special ( 2 pair of glasses) online for $69.96 before visiting the store in Plano Texas. Went in with a prescription from my eye doctor and picked out frames 2 frames for the special, I wanted 2 pairs of sunglasses and was told they were $50 more per each pair, picked out 2 different tints and was quoted $250 without any coatings. I ask what happened to the $69.95 plus $100 for sunglass lens. They said I had to get exam for the special, I said OK and waited 45 minutes for exam. And optimist said no I didn't, took me back, still $250. WILL NEVER RETURN & TELL FRIENDS!

I went to America's Best thinking I would be getting two pairs of prescription glasses for $79 which is what they advertise. The frames I picked were labeled two for $79.99 so I picked two frames. We have insurance and I was told that was only without insurance and only frames though the advertisement online states two pair of prescription glasses. Customer service isn't great and I wound up paying as much as I did at Pearle Vision and they had a bigger variety of frames and customer service was top notch. I can tell these frames are cheap and I really regret going there. Of course they don't tell you about the bait and switch until after you've had the exam. I should have taken the prescription and taken it to Pearle Vision for far, far better frames.

They charged me $85 dollars for an exam that was supposed to be free. Now I see that there is one examination that is free and another which is not. So the information they gave me was confusing. On purpose? They try to send me expensive frames. In the end, the reading glasses they gave me were defective and they only refunded me $10 once they told me I had to leave the glasses!
Never again, not me, not my family, not my friends. Ever!

On June 19th, I went to an appointment for my eyes to be examined and to get new contacts at 3190 S. Central Expressway, Suite #530, McKinney, Texas. The doctor was very professional and so were her support staff. That's was the best part of the visit. The sales staff was sluggish to assist. An employee was sitting and not helping anyone. I had to ask him if he was working on another order. He said no, but didn't offer to help me. I asked him if he could help process my order for contacts. Reluctantly, Andre, said he could. Incidentally, his appearance was unprofessional with greasy, unkempt hair and wrinkled clothes. This was my first time there and I assumed the employees would have been more professional like going to any other medical office. I was told my contacts would be back in within 7-10 business days and I would be called. I waited for a call to tell me my contacts were in and never received one. I called on June 28th to ask if they had been delivered. The customer service representative, Arwen, said, "They had just come in and she would contact me when they were through being processed." I never received a call. I ended up going there to get them. This place has poor customer service. The name is deceiving. It's NOT America's Best and the name should be changed to America's Mediocrity. This was my only interaction and I won't use them again. My money can go somewhere else.

Tip for consumers:
Their advertising of 2 pair of glasses & an exam for $79 is a scam! You can’t purchase glasses for that price.

I went to an America's Best location in Athens Georgia. I have been Diabetic since I was nine months old, and have a family history of diabetes and diabetic eye problems on both sides. When voicing my concerns about some sudden onset vision problems (I was very scared) the doctor treated me like I was a complete moron and couldn't have made it clearer she thought I wasn't worth her time. I hadn't been to an eye appointment in several years, so I asked about getting my eyes dialateded and having the complete exam done. She told me it was unnecessary... I might have had a one off bad doctor. Not sure, but I will never go back to any America's best. Complete waste of time and money. I paid $30 more to see a doctor at Costco, they immediately asked if I was willing to have a complete diabetic exam which included an eye scan (apparently it's more effective than eye dilation). They sat down with me, listened to my concerns, and explained what they wanted to test for, why, and what they found out afterward. Such a difference!

Tip for consumers:
They do have some basic extras for diabetic eye exams, but you must pay extra per service, I paid $20 for two tests on top of the regular exam price.

Worst experience ever. Not to say the glasses were not made to prescription. The instore personnel do not have the correct training in my opinion. They bent my frames to get the lenses to be in focus...come on. I will never use America's best or suggest it to anyone.

I went to the Americas Best in Crestwood about 1 week ago. My exam was rushed and my concerns not addressed because the doctor was headed out for lunch. I will never go here again or recommend them! They showed no compsssion and during my pre exam he shot about 25 puffs of air in one eye. My eye was irritated and he kept right on. The worst experience ever, I understand why people dont go to the doctor for nonsense like this!

This review is in regards to the office on SE Military Dr. I would like to let you know I returned to store after receiving my glasses and had an issue. I was rather upset about it and one of the managers, Angel Talamantez, came to my rescue. She was truly an Angel to me and helped me out so much. I just want people to know, there are some great employees, still out there. She was understanding and I left feeling very happy. I've been a customer there for a few years now, and will continue going every year. Thank you. America's Best for hiring some great people.

America's Best truly is the best period I've been going There for several years now. Special shout out to the staff at America's Best in Colonie New york. Today they found me a wonderful deal. So i went to Americas Best today to re-order a pair of glasses that I lost fully expecting to spend $$ for them. Well, after the gentleman and I had a good laugh that I had those glasses for only 2 weeks, he generously offered to replace them for FREE! Seriously was so shocked because this was my fault by being irresponsible! I have gone to this place twice now and every single time I am met with kindness and great help! I highly recommend them! 5 stars!

My experience with this company was very bad, I bought some beautiful glasses but after three months they no longer worked. The ink they use was all broken preventing visibility and the worst of all that when I went to complain they told me that I had to buy new ones because they had no guarantee but for a month, after having spent my insurance and an additional amount of almost $ 400... I really tell them that they use very bad materials and the customer support worse left me waiting for a call that I never received... Don't put your eyes on that irresponsible and unreliable company.

Worst customer service. Thought I could go in before my cancer treatment appointment and order my daughter's contacts. Wrong.
The guy was about to do it but some woman came up behind him and said I have to wait 35-40 minutes to just order contacts. They are the ones who have the prescription!
I called. First he did a breath at me. I tried to do a phone order and he told me I have to come in because I have a health benefits card- the same card we've used on the phone many other times. I tried to explain it's just like a debit card- they don't file anything and he said " My answer is not changing."
Seriously the worst store and I'm done. The customer service has been an ongoing issue. This was Eddie in the Waxahachie, Texas store that was so incredibly rude this go around.

Do not go to American's Best in Bluffton,SC!They will rip you off! My wife and I had to pay almost $300 a piece for our glasses. They will give you a very weak prescription. They don't even give you the lens you need to help you see. My wife went to Walmart and got a $6 pair of eye glasses and can see way better without any headaches. America's Best needs to go out of business!

$80 for 2 pairs of glasses and an exam...not bad right? Well, i didn't need an exam but still, $80 for 2 pairs, one computer and one distance is fine.

2 weeks later, they come in and they have incredible glare. I own dozens of pairs of glasses, never ordered them with anti-glare but never had a problem. For some reason, these glasses are incredibly glary to the point where I cant even wear them indoors because normal lights create too much glare.

No problem, they said, just bring them back and pay the difference and we'll make new lenses that are anti-glare. I never thought to ask how much they cost because the glasses were $40 each, I assumed anti-glare would be $5 or $10 each.

Nope! Take a guess how much my $80 glasses (including checkup, frames and lenses) cost to have simple anti-glare added. $88! It literally costs more to add anti-glare to the lenses than it cost for the entire 2 pairs! This isn't a penalty for initially ordering them without it, it's the regular price!

Sadly, all their glasses are made with materials that will require anti-glare but getting it will more than double the cost! Seems like a great deal until you see what they charge to make them actually usable. Avoid this place, the $80 glasses aren't really usable.

Went in for $79.95 exam and 2 pairs of glasses. The doctor was knowledgeable and very friendly. My appointment was for 11:40. I was not seen by the doctor until 12:40. She was apologetic for my wait. When I met with the tech she started quoting statistics with insurance. I told her I did not want to use my insurance as I usually wear my contacts. I explained I wanted one pair of no line bifocals, which I fully expected to pay additional fee for. She quoted me $364 for both pairs. I said well how much would it be with my insurance? She ran the numbers & then informed me the price would be $289. I said that is not much savings. She said well it was $390. I said what happened to the $364. She said that was first quoted when she initially thought we were using insurance. She told me she quoted me $390 did not happen! I looked at the paperwork & it shows total bill $512? Walked out using insurance and paying $289. Will not be back! What a hot mess!

Comack staff busy talking among themselves, then whenever they have an issue they start to speak Spanish about customers…my daughter interpreted & they were being rude. Waited 35min for a scheduled exam & Optometrist seemed in a hurry to finish. Told me nay a mild change to script but when glasses arrived they were blurry & I could not see clearly. Told I needed to get used to them. I've been wearing glasses for 50yrs & never had this issue. Cheap product & inaccurate script. Buyer beware

Location in Blue Springs MO. Decided to try this place because I didn't have insurance. Exam was fine. Dr was professional and thorough. We did find out there are stipulations for a free exam. Advertisement is a bit misleading and the add ons add up. Nathan was my staff person and he was very helpful in explaining the pricing and in assisting in picking out the frames. I don't have the glasses yet so I can't speak to the final product. I will say, if I had insurance I would probably pay the same amount or a little less.

I have a broken nose and it's very difficult to fit a frame perfectly. But this time I picked up a frame which fit perfectly, with transitions and bifocal, I finally found my perfect partner
People are polite and helpful. Still use face mask in store, smart. Been their customer for years.

The negative reviews I have read I find surprising. Apparently, these folks did not go to America's best in DeKalb Illinois. I have been there three times and was always happy with my results. Today, April 22,2021, I had an appointment with America's best and I was extremely pleased with the level of professionalism and kindness shown. I give very high praise to the young lady(Alicia)at the end who help me with the ordering of my new glasses. She was very sweet and kind with an endearing sense of humor that placed me at ease. I wish only the best for all of the staff. My heartfelt thank you, Timmy Rogers.

I have been very pleased with my in-store experiences. My main issue comes from the dozen emails, texts, and phone calls you receive. I got 3 texts messages in 2 days for an appointment I had confirmed I would be attending, after the confirmation. I received emails reminding me about my appointment after my confirmation. I have received several calls and emails and text messages about my contact and glasses being ready. It is wildly obnoxious. I get it. They're ready. My contacts have been ready to pick up for 2 days and I've gotten calls, emails, and text messages already. I wish I could opt out but I need to know when they're ready. I wish I could lower the number of reminders.

Stop sending so many reminders. I get it.
