“GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE”

I have been a customer for several years. Multiple glasses and lenses purchased due to changing eyes. The staff at America's Best in York, PA have been great to work with. When their supplier for a sun glass frame had difficulty with the lenses, they provided alternatives and worked with me. I experienced excellent service from the staff. Mike the manager was involved and was super to work with. Next time I need glasses I'll be back. I recommend the York, PA America's Best! - Doug D.

I ordered 2 sets of glasses online on 7/4/24, they showed estimated ship date of 7/14/24. It's now 7/19/24 and I can't even get a status update, after waiting over 30 minutes on hold I gave up and left a voicemail message. We'll see if I get any response from "customer care" or should I say "customer, we don't care".

I had decided to change my annual eye doctors examination from my usual practice, and try American's best. I did the complete eye exam and purchased a pair of glasses from them. One week later, I picked up my new glasses with no issues. The problem that I had during my visit was, I needed to have my nose pads replaced on my old pair of glasses and asked if they had the correct ones for my glasses. I explain to the service person who was working with me with the new pair I had just purchased, that the left nose pad was larger than the original one on the right side, she then took my glasses and began to look in different boxes for the pads that would fit my glasses. She returned to me and said that they did not have those particular pads as they do not sell those style of glasses there, and handed me my old glasses back to me mineis the left nose pad totally missing, and I asked her where was the one I had on it," she told me that I did not have one on it when she took them from". I told her that she was a lie and I want my pad put back on my glasses the way I gave them to you. She continued to lie and say there were never one on the left side. The store manager was called over and I explained the same thing to her with no avail so just got up and left. This business on brook road, in Glen Allen Virginia is the worst possible experience I have ever been through. I will never ever spend my hard earned money and waste my valuable time at such a horrible business again in my life time. Shame, Shame on the lady who so called helped me. D- is the only score they will ever receive. I wish I could give them zero stars but, I have to give them 1 to post this review.

Took glasses in for repair. It took me 8 trips to the store to get them to make it right. I Definitely DO NOT recommend for any service.

You cannot get a 2 pair of glasses for $79!
They have mandatory additional fees. Polarization being one.

BEEN SCHEDULING AN APPT FOR 430PM SINCE OCTOBER AND THEY CHANGE IT WITHOUT ASKING TO A TIME WE CANNOT MAKE IT TO WITHOUT EVEN ASKING US THIS IS GOING ON 4 MONTHS NOW

Charge more if you have insurance - a ripoff. You see 79 deal, and pick out 2 frames
And then they say its not 79 but 500 because you have insurance

Unpleasant receptionist, Nothing is posted on the door about the special mask you must wear and they will not provide you one. They say you must go buy one then come back. Second experience when no one calls to let you know your glasses are ready. I waited right at 4 weeks, I called the week before, but the receptionist was unhappy I called and said they would call when they came in. No the case, I called a week later and she told me, "Yes, they been ready." BUT NO PHONE CALL OR EMAIL I CHECKED THROUGH BOTH TO BE SURE. I live about 45 minutes away and they were not going to allow me to pick up my glasses unless I went and bought a proper mask. But as I looked around the unsocial distanced room of people, maybe only a couple had what was concerned a proper mask. All the rest were hand made. Not understanding the problem, she finally gave me my glass in a bag, reach at me like I had the plague and told me to leave. I did leave after I made sure I at least had the right glasses. However, I would have been more polite about the whole thing if, she would have been a little nicer, the sign had been on the door before you walk in and if I would have received a call after being told I would have been both when I ordered the glasses and when I called the first time. By the way, the mask guidelines are not right on the website, you have to search for it. I doubt that many people worry if they have the right mask or not, especially since many are making their own. So, for anyone at America's Best who might actually pay attention to this. Hire people who actually like other people, and get your protocols in order, signs should be posted on the door before walking in, if they are I did not see one, update your site to reflect your protocols (because I have yet to see anyone else with special mask and you should provided them, you are making enough money to do this). Oh and learn about social distancing.

On June 20th, I went to the nearest America's Best in the City of Milwaukee, which is the Midtown location on 56th Capitol Drive. Walked in the door with my glasses prescription to inquire about styles and pricing. Spoke to a woman named Brittany, who was rude and disrespectful. She stated that my prescription was to strong for glasses at the business. I chose not to believe what she told me. So, the following day, I went to another America's Best and was treated great by a person named Andrea. She took great care of me and I shared my experience of the other store and received a business card to call and complain. Prior to receiving the card, I called the America's Best that I started out with, and Brittany answered the phone. I put my phone on speaker so everyone could hear how she treated me the day before, and sure enough, her attitude had not changed and she still stated I could not get glasses with my prescription. I purchased glasses from Andrea, and paid $288.00, in cash. Once I returned home, I contacted the America's Best customer service number. I spoke to a woman and voiced my concerns. She too was very rude. I did not understand why consumers are not treated better. I listened to her excuses for Brittany's behavior, and decided to contact the Better Business Bureau (B. B. B.). I fill out a complaint online with the B. B. B. And I received a call in regards to my complaint. That too was rude and disheartening. So, I went back to America's Best on June 22nd to get my money back and go elsewhere. There was not enough cash in the store to get reimbursed. Had to wait until today, which is June 23rd. When I called the America's Best where I purchased my glasses, I was told to call back in the afternoon to see if they would have enough cash to reimburse me. Will wait and see how this turns out.

Tip for consumers:
Do not go to America's Best store on 56th Capitol Drive, at the Midtown location.

This america's Best location got my prescription wrong and refused to admit it. They did nothing about it. I only went to replace a pair of scratched glasses (that were working fine) and was told I had to get a new eye exam. Throughout the exam I kept telling this arrogant useless Optometrist that it was blury. I told him it didn't seem right. He concluded there was a significant difference in my eyes because in the 1 1/2 years since my appointment my eyes had hardened: s.

When the glasses came in I tried them on and immediately said they were wrong. I was told that I needed to get used to them. When I asked if there was a different Optometrist who could check I was told I needed to wait and see if my eyes adjusted to them.

I tried them for a week. It was terrible and I started developing headaches. I called them and was basically told I was wrong. It was obvious they weren't going to do anything about it. Even my invoice and the prescription were inaccessible to me online and they weren't giving it to me.

Sometime in late September/early October I emailed corporate and got a useless reply saying the regional manager would check into it. Never did they offer to make it right. I gave up. I set the useless glasses aside, started using my scratched ones (which aren't perfect but I can still read a pill bottle with them) and waited for my Florida trip in Oct/Nov 2017.

I went to the Port St. Lucie America's Best on Oct 30th. Had a new eye exam and low and behold there was only a slight difference in my eyes. The three employees there who looked at the useless prescription including the Optometrist just shook their heads. I will be contacting the Indiana Attorney General when I get home and the BBB to request a full refund.

My wife had a bad experience with Lasik Plus, and needed glasses to get her through the next 5 weeks until the corrective lasik procedure could be scheduled. The plan was to get the frames, then go to a store that made lenses in about 1 hour because she was nauseated due to the poor vision. She found a set of frames that she liked at "America's Best" stores, but none were in stock at that location. After waiting in line at that place, I was told that another one about 10 miles away (Southlake, Tx) did have them and they would be waiting for us, so I went there. I was asked to have a seat. After about 10 minutes, I flagged down the person behind the counter. She took the glasses out of the drawer and put them at the back of the line behind a couple of other people that came in well after I did. I was told to go to the waiting room.
46 minutes later, I went back up front and communicated my disappointment at the Excessive Wait. Though they were not that busy, the excuse was being short staffed. She looked through the bin that held the folders that represented the few waiting people and their place in line, and said I was next in line. The store manager was the next person free for me to pay for the frames, so I sat down across the desk from her. She did not say a word, got up, and chose what appeared to be the folder behind mine in the bin, called the people from the waiting room, and had them sit at another table for her to wait on them, while leaving me sitting at the desk she had been working at.
Either the woman l spoke with lied about me being next, or the manager blatantly took someone else ahead of me. In any event, 52 minutes into waiting to for a 2 to 4 minute task to pay for some frames, I was D-O-N-E. Even when they are not excessively busy, clearly they have too many customers to take care of in an efficient way. This experience made it too late for me to get the frames elsewhere and get to the 1 hour lens making place in time for them to make the lenses, since it was already 4PM. My wife will be nauseated for at least another day as a result. I will never darken the doors of any so called "America's Best" stores again under any circumstances. If this is the "Best" they can do, I don't need the frustration and wasted time, or to deal with overtly rude people or those that lie on her behalf. I don't believe in rewarding what is among the sorriest excuses of customer service that I have had in a very, very long time, and I hope you won't either. I will be spreading the word on this experience for quite some time to come.

I went for eye exam and glasses. I DID NOT LIKE THE DOCTOR! I felt like I was dealing with a car salesman. After getting my glasses, I could close one eye and see great and close the other eye and could not see anything but a blurr. They said wear them and you will get use to it. Long story shortened, after another eye test they said it was all good. I was told I could get a 30 day refund no questions ask. I told them I want to return them for a refund and they offered me 32 dollars back from a 98 dollar charge. They stated they had to charge for the eye exam. I told them that was unacceptable and was not told that when told a 30 day no question ask refund. I told them I would dispute it with my credit card company. She went across the store lobby and called her boss, but I could get everything she said. After said I would dispute the charge and leave a negative review. She came back to get desk and gave me a full refund. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. REMEMBER TO USE A CREDIT CARD BECAUSE IF UIU OAY IN CASH, YOU HAVE NO PROTECTION TO GET UOUR MONEY BACK. I have a appointment with another private practice.
