“GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE”

I have been a customer for several years. Multiple glasses and lenses purchased due to changing eyes. The staff at America's Best in York, PA have been great to work with. When their supplier for a sun glass frame had difficulty with the lenses, they provided alternatives and worked with me. I experienced excellent service from the staff. Mike the manager was involved and was super to work with. Next time I need glasses I'll be back. I recommend the York, PA America's Best! - Doug D.

I ordered 2 sets of glasses online on 7/4/24, they showed estimated ship date of 7/14/24. It's now 7/19/24 and I can't even get a status update, after waiting over 30 minutes on hold I gave up and left a voicemail message. We'll see if I get any response from "customer care" or should I say "customer, we don't care".

Arrived a few minutes early to my appointment and was greeted then
Directed to the check-in area. Lookup my appointment..."yes we have you. How will you be paying today" I said I have a Flexcard (VISA) from my Medicare Advantage provider Wellcare. I handed the both cards over. The clerk said they had not heard of the company, returned my cards and stated that America's Best would not accept my Visa card?. Great!... I suggested it would have been nice if they had asked that payment question online or informed users of their policy of not accepting VISA. The clerk said I should have asked my provider who accepts their cards? So it is my fault? I was about just go ahead and just get it done using cash but before I could say anything I was waved aside and basically dismissed. Embarrassed me to death... like I was trying to steal something and my money wasn't good enough.

When I America's Best FAQ on their website it clearly states:

"Can I use my FSA\(flex spending account\) or HSA\(health savings account\) to pay for my purchase? Yes"

Muy 500$ glasses began to rust within 2 weeks. Told because I sweat too much. Glasses began to "fogup" within a year. Cannot be cleaned.2.1 reviews? Too high!

THIS PLACE MUST HAVE BEEN BOUGHT OUT BY THE CHINESE. I JUST BOUGHT A PAIR OF GLASSES IN MAY FROM AMERICAS BEST HARAHAN, LA. THEY ARE SO SCRATCHED UP I CANT SEE THROUGH THEM. I TOLD THE HEAVY SET GIRL AT THE COUNTER THAT I ONLY USE THE CLOTH THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME WITH THE GLASSES TO CLEAN THEM. SHE INSISTS THAT I SCRATCHED THEM AND NOW WANTS ME TO PAY FOR A NEW PAIR WITH MY UNUSED INSURANCE FOR THE YEAR WHICH WHEN I BOUGHT 5JEM WAS GOING TO BE USED TO PURCHASE CONTACTS. I PAID THE BETTER PART OF 500.00 FOR THESE GLASSES. THEY ARE TOTAL JUNK. THE POOREST QUALITY GLASSES IVE EVER HAD. YOU CAN GET BETTER QUALITY AT THE DOLLAR TREE FOR ONE DOLLAR. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. IVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR 20 PLUS YEARS. THEY DONT STAND BEHIND WHAT THEY SELL AND WHAT THEY SELL IS THE POOREST QUALITY CHINESE JUNK IVE EVER COME ACROSS. I AM TELLING ALL 10 OF MY FAMILY MEMEBERS TO STOP BUYING FROM THEM. WHAT A TOTAL SCAM THIS WAS.

I have been a customer of America's Best for a number of years. I was called to pick up my glassed and they couldn't find them! Turns out the employee had them in her pocket the while time! I was waiting for at least 30-45 mins before anyone bothered to ask me if I needed any help and then another 45 mins to find my glasses! I also recently ordered contact lenses that cost me over $300 which I requested to pick up at their store I usually go to. They called me to let me know that my contacts had arrived. When I asked them if they could be sent to another America's Best closer to me and more convenient for me on my way home from work I was flat out told "No ww can't do that" wth? The other location is less than 2 miles away!. Earlier this year I purchased new eyeglasses and the manager suggested metal frases which I picked out. They are horrible! They hurt the side of my nose to the point that I have bruising! Horrible frames! They are always trying to swindle you into purchasing their eye club membership. I will be going sonewhwre else. Pathetic customer service too!

They don't actually save you any one cheap glasses overall service terrible I went to Walmart eye care and got much better service and better quality glasses from 0 to 100 I give them a 10-

My all order was from Ato Z at Americas Best. So no way to wiggle out of it.
1) mishandled eye exam - dismissal of my concern - ended up with wrong prescription.
2) that prescription fir glasses is wrong is easy to prove. Just look at contact lenses prescription - which is correct - and see 1/3rd difference discrepancy.
3) they refused to email the prescription to me regardless explanation im in Puerto Rico gor next x months.
4) Americas Best online - doesn't work anyway - but ordered over phone.
5) glasses received promptly. But are wrong... Back to Americas best ophthalmologist/optometrist office - got attitude thst order is correct as its what md wrote. Ok. Then can you look at lenses - why those are different? Duuuuh.
6) to resolve the problem with wrong prescription - they offered to fax you the wrong prescription ‍. And again. And again. How kind. (Except of fact that 99% of american households own fax number, why would i want wrong prescription? A mystery!).
7) stuck in Puerto Rico with useless glasses I paid fir and can use them only as decoration on top of bookshelf, blind as if I never bought glasses.
8) Tried to call the Americas Best... After 25 min on hold, I gave in. I will leave message.
9) can't even leave message :) machine cuts you off right after name. Who would want the phone number to actually call you hack when there is a problem anyway, right?

I went to 3 locations, Burleson, 7th Street, and west Fort Worth location.
The customer service is pathetic, I was given the run around, they are a polite RUDE
West side location did not give me trials, I finally got them, and the power was wrong
7th street did not give me my contact lens prescription. Nor my trials, each time I call them, Ashley is always gone, Cynthia among the others give me the run around, such as, your trials will be ready tomorrow, then two weeks, and now they are telling me one month,
I informed them I want my prescription, and they are reluctant in giving me my prescription

THEY ARE NOT "AMERICA'S BEST"
THEY ARE AMERICA'S WORST

I took my son in April for his first visit to get contacts. They had to order trials which took 4 weeks. It took longer NO ONE called me to let me know they had arrived. I had to call them. He was supposed to come back in a week. One of the contacts fell out (he had a special prescription) went back we had to wait another 4 weeks, lady stated she was ordering extras just in case. AGAIN NO ONE called me to let me know they were in. It was after hours she said she would call to schedule the follow up. I called and no one called me back. That was in May, June 6th was when his contacts expired. I went up there b/c no one would call me back. She stated he needs to stop using the contacts and wear his glasses. I told her I don't know if his glasses prescription is any good, she said he will have to order new ones but it was after hours so I would need to come back. I went again and spoke with someone on June 29th b/c they never call back. Stated she would order more trials and speak with the eye doctor to get a prescription to order contacts. Its July 18th spoke with a Pam she stated she would call me back b/c she didnt' see an order placed as of right now my son has been without contacts or glasses for almost 2 months and he is almost blind in his left eye. I am very disappointed and I dont recommend them to anyone.

I went in and paid for eyes exam and glasses. I was constantly badgered into upgrading my plan. I was told that my glasses would be ready for pick up in seven day. They called me in 4 days saying my glasses was ready for pick up. I picked them up only to learn that I was given a set of Demo. I took them back and was asked how I got these glasses because they were demo glasses. And that no one on their staff would have given me demo glass. Guess they were saying I stole them. After find out that a staff did give them too me. I was told that they would rush order my glasses to be done and sent back. It's been two weeks. I called to inquire about the delivery of my glasses and they are telling me it will be seven more days before I get them. 3 weeks I have been without the glasses I paid for. They need to change there name to American Worst.

Hubby and I needed new glasses, so we believed the commercial of 2 pairs of glasses for $100, lol.
We spent over $600, my glasses have come totally apart on 2 different occasions, I also had a problem with my prescription.
I was having some double vision and I thought that maybe I needed another opinion, so I went to the Eye Institute at Vanderbilt. At this appointment, I was examined by the Ophthalmologist. She said that my prescription was wrong and was damaging my vision.
I called America's Best to inform them of the problem, and was told to bring the prescription and glasses in.
I took the glasses and prescription in today and the lady told me that my prescription was fine except for the fact that when they did the exam I was near sighted in my left eye, but NOW I'm far sighted in the left eye. Which means that the prescription is wrong, right?
But nooooo, she offered me the opportunity to purchase more glasses, but offered nothing to fix the issue.
So, you really think that I'm going to pay you to make me some more wrong prescription glasses?
No to America's Best, more like America's MESS!

I went for glasses 6weeks ago. I ordered 2 pair, one bifocals and the others were dark glasses. I pick out two frames they went through cost which I agreed to. They did nothing with me to check where the bifocals should be. They called me 10 days later and said they were in. I went to pick them up and try on the dark glasses and they were fine. They asked me try on the others and I asked how do I do that, they were broken. They apologized and they would order a new pair. 11 days later I went to pick them up and they had sent another pair of dark glasses. That was on June 12. I called them today and they told me that they were still at the lab. I called their customer service and they said the same but they were done. They couldn't tell when they will be here because their lab is in Mexico. I spent a lot of money for glasses and they can't get them right. Can't wear the dark glasses because my vision has change. I leave for vacation tomorrow and thought I would have sunglasses to wear. Just crazy.

I went to the Gemini Place location in Columbus, OH for a contact lens RX. I told her I was allergic to the contact lens solution and I wanted to try dailies. When they came in, I couldn't see distance or close up. Everything was blurry. When I called they said the doctor had taken the astigmatism out of my RX. What? So they said they would order new ones with astigmatism. I got the second set, but they were monthlies. I still couldn't see out of them even with the toric lenses. So they ordered a 3rd set. They came as daily toric lenses but I STILL couldn't see out of them. The RX she had written was obviously wrong. I called again to just ask for an $89 refund because I live an hour away round trip and I had lost confidence in the ability of the doctor. They refused because they said I had gotten an eye exam. I said I paid for a contact lens RX and a month later I still don't have an accurate one. They said it didn't matter. I got an exam. What good is the exam if the RX is not accurate. I didn't get what I came in for. I won't ever use America's Best again for anyone in my family.

Never step foot into chain stores I have no comment because I'm not permitted to be VULGAR! But it has been the worst $325.00 ever spend in a eyewear RX store.

America's Best is a DANGEROUS place to do business. I have problems every time I or my family have gone. This time ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! The doctor gave my daughter the wrong prescription. My daughter is a -6.50 and was told her eyesight has not changed and the doctor gave her a prescription for -6.00. I had to call because she was busy in school and told them what happened. She told me when my daughter goes there, the prescription would be changed and ready to be picked up. She went up there almost a day later and no one knew about anything. She talked to someone else and he said he would have to talk to a doctor and get back to her, My daughter called the next day, since we never received a phone call back and a lady said it had been fixed and she could pick it up. I ordered her contacts on Friday and her contact order was canceled today. The doctor gave her ALMOST the right prescription, she gave her a -6.50, but an 8.4 BC instead of an 8.6 BC. The contact she wrote for her, you can not even get an 8.6. My daughter uses SofLens Daily Disposable, but the doctor prescribed SofLens 38, which is NOT a daily.

At ameribest the woman at the front desk at the 201 suit Nicole is definitely who you talk to. Her costumer service is 100% and very respectful and she makes you feel welcome.

I agreed to a remote eye exam at the Mc Donough America's Best location as I needed more contacts and I couldn't see my actual Dr for like a month (yes my fault for not thinking ahead) but found the exam was not as thorough as my regular exams has been. Then I found, after waiting two weeks for a "test" pair (which were ordered along with a box) that they were incorrect. They do NOT keep any test contact lenses there. So I had to wait a week for an actual Dr to come (and this happens once a month I'm told, anll remote otherwise) and do a re-exam to get the prescription corrected. So I was wearing my glasses at work by this time and it was really not working well for me. So I had to ask (it wasn't offered) if they happened to have any contacts that were close to my prescription and they did. So kudos to that. But it's been 2 weeks now and after waiting 15 minutes on the phone, found the new ones were not in yet. By this time I've seen my real Dr and got a much better thorough exam and a pair of tester contacts, and ordered more. Needless to say I will not ever go back to Americas NOT Best again. Did I also say had an appt at the Griffin office before this one at 6pm and when I got there I was told there was an emergency so Dr was an hour and a half behind so could I reschedule? I asked why no one called to tell me this and reschedule so I didn't run from work a half hour to the office? They just shrugged. No appointment except during day. My work doesn't allow me to leave. So I thought I would try McDonough. No difference, I advise to skip them altogether. Thanks for reading

This is what you get when you try and save a few bucks. I went to A.B on October 7th for an eye exam for contacts. They said it would take a week for the trial lens. They didn't come until November 3rd. Than they tell me that it's no follow ups on the weekend so I had to take a day off from work to go get my lens. Than while I'm on the highway driving to my appointment they call me and said the Dr had an emergency so they have to cancel my appointment. Than when I finally get my appointment and get my lens I already knew I was going to go somewhere else to get my contacts I just need my trial lens and my prescription. How the Dr wrote a whole other brand of lenses for me to wear after I told her the brand I've been wearing for years. Me not noticing it's a different brand on my prescription when I get to lens Crafters they tell me that the brand that doctor gave you cost $200 more than the brand you usually buy. They said unless that Dr changes the brand on your prescription we would have give you the more expensive lenses. I've called America's best and the Dr said the brand I use to used is discontinued. But lens crafters has them in stock. Now this Dr acting like she won't change it so I paid for an eye exam to get a prescription for contacts that I can't afford.
