My 94 year old mother is prone to outbursts of mean behavior. After just three days, she was told to leave an assisted living facility that had been recommended to her by her friend. Suddenly needing an alternative, and not knowing where to turn, I called A Place for Mom. Immediately, Dawn Walker put me at ease. She was SO helpful and knowledgeable about the options available. She contacted places on our behalf and made calls to follow up on the progress. Mom is now settled into a skilled nursing facility where the folks are trained to handle her outbursts. And she is VERY happy!

When my mom suddenly passed away I had to quickly find a place that her 93 year old companion could move to. I called A Place for Mom and they asked a few questions and immediately they set up 3 places for us to tour. It was so easy and they were with me every step of the way. My younger brother, who is 60 years old with some physical and medical issues since birth, fell very ill with COVID recently. He quickly deteriorated and developed pneumonia. The only sibling who lives nearby got him admitted to the hospital. But this sibling works full-time and has their own family to take care of. He could not be his brother's 24/7 caregiver after he came home from the hospital.
I live more than 2000 miles away...how can I provide help to my ill brother, now soon to be discharged from the hospital but unable to care for himself yet?
I found A Place for Mom online, called the number, and that same day was connected with an adviser. Within 24 hours the adviser had emailed me with the name of 4 retirement facilities in my brother's city that would accept respite care for a limited time. One of the facilities reached out to me that day with a huge amount of information about their facility, including pricing. We scheduled a tour for my ill brother and several days later upon discharge he entered The Redwoods for 2 weeks of respite care. My brother is steadily recovering but has now decided to retire early. And, he is seriously considering returning to this facility as an independent care resident when he retires!
Turning to A Place for Mom during this family crisis was the best thing we could have done! From more than 2000 miles away I was able to quickly find a wonderful facility for my brother where he could safely recover from serious illness.
My advisor has been very responsive, checking in by phone and email as our family navigates this crisis. I can say the same thing about the retirement facility. It has been such a blessing to have caring, knowledgeable people helping us during this difficult time. This helped to significantly reduce the stress our family has been going through. I would highly recommend A Place for Mom for anyone needing help in handling a loved ones' illness or pending retirement.

A Place For Mom was able to pinpoint openings for my husband that fit our needs. They offered options to contact and visit. They saved us time in sending options that had availability. It was a Godsend.

For anyone who is not sure how to proceed with finding care for their aging loved ones, a place for mom is the absolute best! The direction given with the many different programs is extremely helpful and very positive. Nancy Briel is wonderful and very knowledgeable.

We had to identify a new housing option for my father with very little notice. I wasn't sure how to even begin and turned to A Place for Mom for some initial information. Within 30 minutes, I understood the right options for my dad, price ranges and location options. They also referred me to a financial assistance program that I was unaware of. A Place for Mom was a significant partner in our move and I, without hesitation, recommend them.

I went and toured 3 places and found what I was looking for in the third place.

When faced with trying to find a suitable place for my mom, there were so many places out there. We had some specific things we wanted--a situation that was "age-in-place", close to my mom's preferred hospital, friendly, clean, lots of activities, a full kitchen for the independent side, some meals provided, and the list goes on. Within 10 minutes of filling out a form on-line, I had a phone call from Rick Herbert, the area representative at the time. By the next morning, I had three appointments to see various communities--all fitting the criteria I had asked for. My mom is now in her new apartment--happy as can be. We have received a wealth of information from Rick and Robin Vetter, the new area representative. I received a phone call at least once a week to check on progress and to see if there was any additional help needed.

I was totally unprepared when my mom was diagnosed with Alzhemeir's dementia. I was afraid, overwhelmed, just plain lost. Remembered this site from a commercial. My contact specialist was absolutely wonderful. Answered my many questions, then sent me several places that specialized in memory care. He has followed up with so many pieces of information that have helped me tremendously. I'm still quite raw after choosing a site for mom but feel confident I've made a good choice. No place is perfect for one's mom of course but I have peace of mind. A Place for Mom came through when I was in desperate need for guidance.

I welcomed this professional service rendered when I began my search for my brother to enter a Memory Care Unit Facility. A Place for Mom returned my calls in a timely manner, sent email updates and their reps were patient and courteous which made this chaotic unfamiliar process easier. The agency name A Place for Mom made me think that it was just for females however this service was available for my brother. A heartfelt thanks to their staff.

We never considered that we could live in an independent living facility because our nest egg had disappeared with the depression of 2008 when we first retired. But realizing that our house has appreciated in value since we bought it in 2017 changed our mind to the possibility.

While my husband was in the hospital his doctor told me he should not come home, but go to assisted living. A Place for Mom immediately went into action and showed me 5 nearby places that had open rooms and were highly rated. It allowed me to get him placed in one week. Breathtakingly fast, but it all went smoothly thanks to their help.

When I reached out to A Place for Mom I had no idea what I was doing or how the organization worked. My parents needed a place to go as their condo was not conducive to their new needs. I live in one city and my brother in another and had no idea what we were going to do. Their representatives reached out quickly. Right from the get go she put my mind at ease, gave me pointers and options in both cities. I was able to email or text her and her responses back were quick. A Place for Mom was very helpful in helping me find my Mom a special place to stay. They were very helpful and supportive in my search. I recommend them highly.

The followup and sense of actual concern for our needs was so helpful. Once or twice I felt quite stressed about our situation and just talking about it helped. When we actually made our move, we felt it was the right decision.

On being discharged from a hospital stay, my doctor told me he would recommend my going to an Assisted Living Facillity for a while to recover fully. The thought of that terrified me as I have always lived independently, in my own home for over 20 years. The Care Coordination Team offered me several options and "A Place for Mom" was 1st one of them so I placed a call to them and almost immediately a lovely woman, whose name I have forgotten sadly, offered me whatever help I might need & told me Senior Faciliies would be contacting me & again, almost immediately several facilited contaced me with offers for tours. I spoke with reps from 2 facilities and was most drawn to Marcy@ Palmilla Senior Living, who offered me a virtual tour of her facility since I was yet well. She & I talked endlessly! We talked about all 3 options, from Memory Care to Assisted Living to Independent Apartment and/or Casita Living. Because I live alone she said she could put me in touch with movers to help me pack & move me and long story short, I chose Palmilla Senior Living and moved in last week. I couldn't be happier. The amenities & help they offer their residents is unmatched in my eyes. I would definitely highly recommend A Place for Mom for self or family members to everyone!

We were looking for a place fir my brother. When I called, they were kind, inquisitive, listened to the entire story, came up with options while on the phone with me and arranged for the visit within 1 day. I went to the visit and the place was perfect. The load that was taken off my shoulders was huge! Unbelievably great service for those looking for a place for a friend or family member to stay.

A Place for Mom provided much needed support as we were faced with making a decision that most people pray they never will need to make. I was contacted by Natalie shortly after submitting a request for information. She was very caring and understood the stress I was feeling. Within minutes of our conversation, Natalie had scheduled appointments for my father and I at three local facilities. She checked in daily tomake sure I was ok and to see how the appointments were going. Natalie took away the stress I was feeling when faced with having to cold call assisted living facilities. She provided helpful questionnaires to provide a list of questions dad and I didn't even think to ask. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
