“2 thumbs up!”

"A Place for mom" was a huge asset in helping my sisters and I, when it came time for our mom to move to an assisted living home. Our representative was knowledgeable, understanding, empathetic and showed great patience. Having never been down this road before the whole process would have been agony without their guidance and knowledge. From helpful and educational emails on various topics to supplying us with a list of properties to tour, and following up questions about decisions or additional information.

Please don't trust these people. They are all in it together. They stole all my mother's money and promised she'd always have a place to stay. They threw her in the hospital and refused to take her back into their facility when she finally got to another facility, they starved her to death. She went from 124 pounds down to 86 pounds in one month during Covid. I wasn't allowed to visit, they killed her Do not trust them they are all in it together. They act like they want to help you and they're so sympathetic soon as they get your money you can't get in touch with them.

As soon as I checked in with A Place For Mom I felt so much support and ready to make good decisions for my family. Joe Dempsey was helpful setting up interviews and checked in with me on a regular basis. It was a light in the forest of assisted living options. Thank you. My Mom and Dad and my siblings are pleased with Brookdale on Skeet Club Rd in High Point NC.

I have used A Place for Mom on several occasions, and this service saved my sanity. When I had to suddenly place my Mom in a memory care, I did not know where to begin. A Place For Mom gave me options in my area, with reviews and price ranges. Since Medicare does not cover assisted-living facilities, and Medicaid starts only when your loved one runs out of money, the prices, like it or not, have to be a consideration. A Place For Mom gives you options, and their support stays with you throughout the process. When you have to deal with the sad reality of dementia, get all of the support you can, and start with A Place for Mom.

Reason I chose this business:

I chose A Place for Mom, honestly, out of desperation. I did not know where to start with getting my Mom the care she needed. I was so sad and angry, and felt frozen with indecision and grief. A Place for Mom helped me focus on reality, and I no longer felt lost and alone in this process. The answer to the question of “what do I do now,” is call A Place for Mom.

I found A Place For Mom online on a Monday morning and by Monday afternoon I had spoke with someone and had 2 tours scheduled. By Tuesday afternoon, I had pretty much chosen the place that would be best for my 94-year-old grandmother. My grandmother needs a help with meds and cooking, but that is about all and I found a great place for her.

Reason I chose this business:

I wasn't sure where or how to start looking for a place for my grandmother.

Christina Smith s a real keeper. She was knowledgeable but even moreso supportive as I worked to place my brother in a more suitable facility closer to home. The whole process was more challanging due to the fact that he was coming from another state, had a medical plan that didn't transfer and many details of his finances that I knew nothing about. I needed that listening ear and encouragement when I didn't think I could manage this transition. She worked with me every step of the way. Your emails from A Place for Mom also helped me to better understand the decisions I needed to make and better understand his disability. He is now a resident at Braemar at Wallkill.

Incredibly expedient! I had just finished typing my contact information and they were already calling and emailing. They found me a few places to consider and I went with the first one who just happened to have an opening. We moved my step-father in two weeks later and love the facility!

My mom was well cared for by the kind, compassionate caregivers here during her last years. I am grateful for their patience and encouragement. Visitors are always made welcome, I spent many hours hanging with "my old people." Thanks to the Loving Care family.

This is a recruiter service nothing more. They could care less. Michelle's attitude was bland and became arrogant when I said I needed a Sr. Apartment. Forget it they recruits for paying customers they have absolutely no interest in your needs or situation. And if you cannot afford at least 3 to 5 k a month you are out of luck go call Area on aging. Nice prove. Also how would some 25 year old have a clue about what a Sen. Citizen needs. Total rip off this is no different than the scam calls u get for other offers except they add a vale of legitimacy by pretend I g to really care. They Don't.

The specialist was fantastic! She gave me helpful suggestions for Dad's care and helped determine what type of housing would be best for him. She scheduled tours and we found Dad the perfect place within days. I could never have done this without their help. I'm so grateful!

They don't care about helping families. All they do is gather your information and send it out to the surrounding senior living communities. Worse than car salesmen. You're better off doing your own research.

We were referred to an assisted living facility, The Bridges of Charleston, it was horrible. The staff are rude, don't do their jobs, charges for services not provided. Residents were talked to ugly, never answered call lights. Took days to get any results on a kidney infection. No help with baths, no reminders for going to meals, no assistance in putting up clothes or making beds. No real activities provided. Walls have been plastered for over a month, the building floods. I guess it would be great for someone who could do everything for themselves, if your family member can't or is confused don't go here. It was the worst healthcare I have witnessed in my over 30 years of being a Registered Nurse. So glad I am moving my mom out. Almost $3000 a month wasted on this place. Thankfully I am able to bring her home with me and use her money for real care. Please look at these facilities before sending someone there.

A Place for Mom has great ads but when it comes down to them providing help, guidance or insight they left me cold. In fact, in the end, the retirement home I found was not even recommended to me. Word of mouth from neighbors and friends was a much better resource. The person handling my 'case' even got me confused with another client and sent me an email basically scolding me for my choice! No apology was given until I brought the email up myself and even though the excuse was that she had so many clients... Best thing about A Place for Mom is they don't charge you! I'd recommend just searching the Internet, ask your doctors and caregivers, neighbors and friends; you'll get quality reliable information. On a side note, Visiting Angels is an excellent resource.

Tried to access the system. The automated answer set up is a nightmare. It just runs you around in circles. I am a retired tech support engineer for commission products. I have set up or redesigned hundreds of these systems. I have never seen one that was this screwed up.

Its difficult to be sure that your making right decision, when looking for place where your family member will be, well taken care of! But with this service A Place or MOM, they gave me multiple names of qualified caregivers in the area I was looking! I went to check out 6 or 7 landed on this Palliative home called Loving Heart Senior Care, owned by Rocky & Micheal! They were such a blessing! Could never made a better choice, for my Father he was treated like family, what a weight lifted from my shoulders! Dr. & nurses came to house to do check ups! They treated him with Dignity & Love, I could sleep at night knowing he was in good hands!

I had to find a place for my mom in a short amount of time. I was greeted by an extremely friendly and helpful man who explained the entire process to me. He assessed my needs and quickly jumped into action trying to find the perfect fit for my mom and our family. He bent over backwards to try to get us a solution in one day flat. He followed up repeatedly to makes sure we were finding what we needed or whether he could be of any further help. He never harassed or pressured us. And he constantly checked in to make sure I was understanding the challenges that lay before me. He followed up when places he thought were good fits did not present as they had promised to rectify their recommendations going forward.

This could not have gone any better.

I was looking for a list of places or suggestions for Senior housing in a certain area in Florida. I had to give phone number and email to get it. Then I got 8 phone calls over 2 days from sales people blowing up my cell phone. In addition there were 3 email letters in my mailbox. I asked only to correspond by email. I finally decided to ask for more information- so I sent an email back answering questions they needed order "to help find housing for my mom" as they say. I received a curt email letter stating they had NO housing connections in that area only ones which were 5- 10 minutes further away. (Translation- none that my family could afford.) She made no suggestions. The representative stated she closed our file. Sounds like we didn't fit THEIR needs.

I am looking for a place for my dad and went to this website after hearing the extensive marketing. You have to put in your information before you can look at anything on the site. I swear I had just hit "enter" when my phone literally started ringing. I thought "no, it can't be" but yes, it was them, and they continually try to call multiple times a day for the past three days. Talk about ridiculously aggressive telemarketing. It really gives me the creeps.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that our follow-up calls were annoying. Many times the families that contact us for help are in an urgent situation, so we try to be proactive and responsive. This is good information to help us improve our service and we appreciate your feedback.

Please email us at: Content@aplaceformom.com to be removed from our call and email list.

They referenced 3 places from 1-3 year minimum private pay before they accept them as Medicaid. Problem is they may not get Medicaid after meeting the Assisted Living minimum. Also, you could end up on a wait list after meeting Medicaid criteria to apply. Then your broke and can't private pay anymore. What does that leave some nursing home to dump them in. Or you find out your monthly income is too much because Patriot Angel was referenced to help with private pay if you qualify for VA benefits. Medicaid should also do their look back before you spend down if they are going to disqualify you for giving a graduation gift as an example. While listening to an Assisted Living spell out the additional cost of 1000 a month for doing their laundry, extra house cleaning, etc. Not that it was an issue but they don't take individuals with addictions so perhaps they should ask that as well. If you don't have to worry about that their probably alright.

Although we had searched local assisted living facilities in our area several times, we felt a bit overwhelmed trying to narrow down the choices. We appreciated the assistance from Barry. He made suggestions and we visited most of them. Only had one where there had been a miscommunication since we needed a pet friendly location and a favorite option did not allow pets. However, we did find the perfect match after that. Mom is enjoying the food, activities and socializing that she needed. We feel better knowing she's being well card for.

Our Place for Mom representative, Paul, was a huge help. Our friends were trapped in an inappropriate and overpriced adult foster care home. He sent us more than 20 options to investigate and provided invaluable advice to me and our friends. They are now in a much better living situation that costs half as much. I don't think we could have pulled it off without his help.

Trying to find the right senior living facility is overwhelming. Here in Florida there are literally hundreds within a half hour radius. Where do you start? I had very specific guidelines of what I needed for my Mom. Michelle went out of her way to find several dozen places that would fit the bill, then we went over them on the phone and I narrowed it down to a half dozen to go see.

All the places she steered me to were great, and we now have my Mom happily settled only 20 minutes from me, with her cat, in her own apartment.

Sick of watching ads and remembering what a nightmare my experience with this company was when I needed help for my 95 yr old Mom. I am so in agreement with all the posts here; they say it all. I had already done some research of my own on places here locally and the results were dismal. I thought they could do better but they just kept recommending the same dumps. To find out they only recommend the places that pay them follows; those places couldnt get business on their own. Then to ice the cake, they got every other bogus help agency on my case and my phone became useless for a while until I put brakes on all the crap calls.

Last July my father had a stroke. Prior to this he was independent - driving, eating out, and living a full life. After it was apparent he was not going to be able to return home. It was so overwhelming for myself and my sister and we didn't know where to turn. Then we found Gayle and Robin. They were seriously angels sent from above. They walked us through each phase of finding my dad a place for rehab as well as assisted living. They were kind and supportive and truly cared about us. I can't say enough good things about them both. My dad is now settled and doing well at a facility close to home. Thank you for this service- it truly saved our sanity during this difficult time!

My wife called this people when my mother died looking for assistance with my father who has mild dementia. After a few minutes it became clear that these people had no idea about the local services for seniors. All they were interested in was making a referral to a seniors residence for the commission. Then the calls kept coming from them and several residences that they had passed our names onto. After several month of telling these people to go stuff themselves, they keep calling. It is easy to get sucked in by the promises of assistance on their website but I advise to steer clear of these parasites.
