A Place for Mom

Called looking for recommendation for 1 week of respite care for spouse. Consultant told me I would not be able to find any place that offered only 1 week. When I told her I'd just handle it on my own, she actually hung up on me. By the way, I found 2 venues that offer week-long respite care without too much effort and didn't even look further. I would NOT recommend this service!

Michelle was extremely helpful during a very stressful time for our family. She reached out to help us with our search and patiently adapted to our many changes in location and needs. I learned so much through this difficult process thanks to Michelle's knowledge and suggestions.

I googled Care for aging parents. Thank goodness I immediately received a call from Tracy with "A place for mom". A true God send. Tracy immediately reassured me help was forthcoming.

Further calls to Tracy proved fruitful as we set up a plan for getting my parents from Florida to Texas.

Today my parents are settled in a safe comfortable loving place, thanks to "A Place For Mom". With the aging of America baby boomers coming to senior ages "A Place For Mom" is essential for placing loved ones in independent, assisted or total care facilities where they are sure to thrive. I met Ria and learned of her house from A Place for Mom. Her home is an excellent care home. Ria is careful and kind and makes very intelligent decisions benefiting the elders in her care. The home is spotless. The food provided is healthy and appropriate for the patients needs. My mother spent 3 years here. All of them bed bound. NOT ONE SINGLE dangerous sore in the entire 3 years. I am amazed. My mother had shrunk from 300 pounds and had lots of excess skin. My grateful wish is if you are kind you choose Ria to care for your elder.

First of all, they ask you for your contact info, including your location and phone #, and as soon as you hit submit, a message pops up on the screen telling you that they're calling you. Secondly, after asking for my location, they failed to show at least three highly rated Erickson communities that are 25 min, 40 min, and 1 hour from my town. Instead they gave me listings for communities that were much farther away.

My family received amazing help finding the right assisted living community for our father. Our representative was extremely knowledgeable and kind. Unfortunately, he passed away before he could move in the place we chose with this agency's help, but we know he would have enjoyed living there! Thank you!

I am so thrilled to say that finding A Place for Mom was the best thing that happened to my family! My mom is ecstatic of the new community in which she lives and we owe it all to you! Our Senior Advisor, Ryan Gates was so helpful in answering all of my questions from beginning to end. With me trying to find communities from out-of-state was made so much easier with his assistance. We are so grateful for the help which Jessica Sherman at A Place for Mom gave us when we needed help. We had been in contact for about two years, and Jessica would call every few months to see how my mother was doing. We had decided on at home care for as long as possible.

When Mom broke her hip last April and Jessica happened to call, the timing was perfect. She helped us find several places to interview and choose from. Her gentle and professional guidance was outstanding and she knew which places would be a good fit for my mother.

I recommend that anyone who may need help in finding a memory care unit to call and talk with Jessica just to narrow down the options and give yourself time to do the visits and ask questions. We are very happy with Mom's care at Brookdale in Pittsford.

My search for looking for a place for my mom to live was very scarce because of what she could afford with her health issues and her budget. When I contacted A Place for Mom I got help I never would have imagined.

APFM was great with assisting me with finding the right place for a relative. It wasn't easy because this relative is in another state and has no family to rely on. APFM was diligent in helping find the right place for my relative. She is doing great now.

Not knowing what to do when my Mom's dementia forced us to place her in a home I contacted A Place for Mom. They sent me a list of corporate, institution type homes that kick back big referral fees to them. Thinking this was the only option available, we placed Mom in one until recently until I realized the care had deteriorated to the point of complete neglect. I contacted A Place for Mom again and received my personalized updated computer generated list of the exact same places I eliminated years ago. Stay away from any places they suggest unless you want to be abused financially and more offensive see the horrible care provided, or not, to your loved one.

These website is completely misleading, they immediately bombard you with text, email and phone calls. They can text and email but you cannot respond. Phone call or nothing, pushy, rude, heard nothing I said, just kept talking, may as well been taking to a robot. I've never been so disgusted with a company that is supposed to help. All they are worried about is the $ for their commission.

It was as if I had a warm hand holding mine for the whole 6 months I was searching to get my older brother into his own independent retirement apartment. Jeannette Williams was that warm, helping hand. She recommended several places and called them. My brother is so very happy with his new home. I'm so grateful to God for her.

My aunt has dementia and had lived with us for 6 yrs. I realized that her behaviors were negatively impacting our young child. She has limited resources and I was having a hard time finding a safe situation for her. A Place For Mom really came through with options I didn't know existed and then contacted us several times to be sure her needs were met! This is a great service and helped my family beyond my hopes!

The appointments were all set up for us at locations filling our wants list. We were able to locate a new place for mom within 4 days of interviews. Mom was able to get moved in right away and they took care of her every need. As a gift to mom they had her hair done at the local salon. She felt very pampered every single day she was there. Unfortunately mom passed away soon after getting moved in. We feel very grateful that her last days were filled with love, care and simply pampered. "No more cooking, no more cleaning" She loved it.

Finding a place that is understanding and compassionate about caring for a Dementia patient is almost impossible. The system is beyond broken. I finally reached out to a place for mom when all other services and nursing homes just didn't get it. I was tired of apologizing for my fathers behaviour. HE HAS A DISEASE. Places advertise and communicate one thing but then their actions display a complete lack of understanding. Within one day of contacting a place for mom I was visiting appropriate places for my father where he could be himself and receive the care he needed. I found that at Arden Court in Harrisburg thanks to this service.

A place for mom is simply a lead generating company. I thought I was calling a facility to get their prices for an acquaintance of mine and they farmed out my information to several facilities (but not the one I wanted the information from). Nine months later I'm still getting phone calls even though I have asked them to take me off their list. Today during a work meeting I was interrupted with three phone calls from them. When I called back after the meeting, Paul said he could not take me off the list until they knew more about the decision my acquaintance made. In other words, he will lose his lead generation revenue if he takes me off the list. It's not up to me to share my acquaintance's information. I would not recommend calling this company. You would be better off calling the individual facilities your self.

Beware! We called this service to help find a place for an elderly family member. They were very agressive with asking for financial info, assets etc. The more research I do on them the more they seem like they are after peoples money. Its a common practice to be the "caregiver" for an elderly person and then get control of their finances and end up taking all their money so beware.

Phillip Stanton was wonderful, touching base regularly and getting us immediately in contact with services we needed. Highly recommend if you are coping with aging parents.

I had no idea what "A Place for Mom" was. My mother-in-law had used the service for her brother and insisted I call. I was beyond thrilled with the associate (Virginia). She was warm, compassionate and efficient. She was not only able to identify locations that fit my needs but also made the reservations and gave me the point of contact information. She also followed up to get my opinion of my experience. I now have successfully literally found a place for mom which she and I are very pleased with. Thank you!

The sales rep. Was SO rude, he cut me off after hearing my mother's situation and said he could not help. They do not care about helping the elderly, just making a buck off the unfortunate. Your better off going through a non-profit. I found Care Patrol who put me in contact with several services and attorneys.
