"A Place for mom" was a huge asset in helping my sisters and I, when it came time for our mom to move to an assisted living home. Our representative was knowledgeable, understanding, empathetic and showed great patience. Having never been down this road before the whole process would have been agony without their guidance and knowledge. From helpful and educational emails on various topics to supplying us with a list of properties to tour, and following up questions about decisions or additional information.
Please don't trust these people. They are all in it together. They stole all my mother's money and promised she'd always have a place to stay. They threw her in the hospital and refused to take her back into their facility when she finally got to another facility, they starved her to death. She went from 124 pounds down to 86 pounds in one month during Covid. I wasn't allowed to visit, they killed her Do not trust them they are all in it together. They act like they want to help you and they're so sympathetic soon as they get your money you can't get in touch with them.
This companies online practices are horrifying. They build websites with fake reviews or take 1-2 negative reviews from other sites, and build entire websites attacking your business. Which is odd considering how bad their own online reviews are. I wouldn't trust these people at all.
This has to be a scam. You reach out to them and get nothing bit spam. If you're looking for a position with them they have incredibly long (2-month+) hiring processes with several needless interviews. You will get partway through the process and they will cease contact with you.
Do not trust this company.
Despite giving very explicit details of my care needs for my mother, Ruth Caporizzo was absolutely useless. I had to repeat things several times to here to get her to understand what I needed, demonstrating she was never listening and she had not information to offer even then. She seemed rather disinterested and probably did not leg work. I found more information on my own. Do not expect good service from these people.
Stay away. They are only interested in their referral commission. If a Social Worker recommends them you can be sure they are in on the take. Do not give them any information because they will share it with every facility in your area in the hopes of a commission. You will then be bombarded with unwanted and unneeded phone calls and emails. Stay away. A very unscrupulous business.
They sent me a link to a website which lists senior services in my area. Big deal! That website is available for all to see without their help. I have looked at that very same website a few times myself, so basically their "service" is no service at all. When I emailed the "rep" back saying that I have alrady checked out that very same website several times, I never heard from her again. Good riddance. Useless. Don't bother contacting them, check the internet for senior places in your area. Lots of info out there. They do nothing for you, just collect the cash from the facility.
I needed to move my Mom from Colorado to Georgia. I called a Place for Mom to get information on multiple places that were close to my location. I spoke with Susan who was amazing. She was caring and very helpful... she guided me to several locations that were nearby along with the pricing so I was informed before I went to speak to the facilities. I was very happy with the referral service they offered. Susan followed up a few times to make sure my Mom is happy in her new home. I think they offer a great service... she gave me referrals with pricing so I could interview and choose the place that suited us best.
I asked a few questions and you continued to bother me for months with phone calls. We did all the leg work and investigation of homes and you want to charge them and take credit. I have let everyone I know in this situation not to call you
I very much appreciated the help they provided during a very difficult time. With a little bit of assistance from them I was able to find a new home for my mom. They worked with me knowing what we were looking for and what we could do financially.
Thank you for sharing!
I recently worked with A Place for Mom as I had nowhere else to turn. My Mother needed assisted living and I didn't know what to do or how to make that happen. I was recommended a phone number to call for assistance. From the first person I talked to I felt so much concern for my situation and felt truly appreciated. My questions were answered professionally as well as compassionately. I was so relieved to be able to get the right place for my Mom with the help of A Place for Mom. She is very happy and comfortable. I could not have done this without their assistance!
We are so happy to hear this, Tina. Thank you for sharing and it was our privilege to help you and your family out!
My family recently relocated to Las Vegas, seven months prior to the move I contacted A Place for Mom to help me find a senior community. The service specialist gave me 5 referrals and most importantly a guide to evaluate the communities. As a result I was able to pick the perfect place. My mother has found friendship and commonality with the residents. My family is very pleased. My mother is happy. Thanks to the specialist at A Place for Mom.
We are so happy to hear your mother is happy in her new home! Thank you for sharing!
I echo all the terrible reviews on this site and wish I had never called. Initially the person who received my call was informative and promising but all she did was send me a list and badger me for a year. I had to do all the legwork. When I found me a good place on my own she asked me the name and then sent me a listing with the name on it. And charged the place an astronomical fee when I placed my mom there. I complained and explained but they still charged. The staff person was suddenly curt. Very disappointing and horrible business model. They prey upon your panic and they are the only ones who benefit. They have reviews on their site they claim are from customers but I was never asked to review them. Don't call!
We are very pleased with how much help we received from Claudia and all the staff. Please give a place for Mom a call today to help with all that you well be up to face in caring for your love one/once!
Two years ago during the Covid outbreak I was looking for an assisted living facility for my mother and stepdad. I reached out to "a place for mom" to inquire about the available options. Once I learned the Covid requirements for most of the assisted-living facilities we decided to go a different route. I told "a place for mom" that I was not interested and I had decided on an alternative. Since then, I have received hundreds of calls and emails asking how they could help me find an assisted living facility for my mother. Regardless of how many times you ask people not to call you they continue to do so. I learned later that if you even spoke with somebody at a assisted living facility that a place for mom would send them a bill for their services. Even though they didn't do anything! A place for mom is a network filled with sharks! I chose an independent provider who steered me in the best direction possible. Don't call "a place for mom" you'll be sorry you did
I submitted an online request for information and was immediately called about the request. At the time I was a little unprepared for a conversation but decided to go ahead and discuss the situation with my mom. I was pleasantly surprised with the support, professionalism, and abundance of information that was provided. Matt was familiar with my location and able to provide wonderful direction and help where needed. This was a difficult time for all in our family and we didn't utilize any facilities or services in the end but will be better prepared for the day we will need it. Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing your positive experience with A Place For Mom. We're glad our service and level of support exceeded your expectations. We're so happy we were able to help you and your family during this difficult time, as well as prepare for the future should your needs change.
All this company will do for you is find in open bed. They will not match your loved one's personal care needs, lifestyle choices or preferences or anything else that comes with doing a full in person assessment. They get paid by a facility ho film a bed. They don't care if it's not a good fit. They are not going to advocate for the client or the family members they are helping with the tough questions to make sure it is the right fit so the transition is smooth and that it is the best fit possible for both the facility and the client. Go with locally owned placement-transitional companies who you meet in person.
They helped us by listing all the local facilities, many of which I did not even know.
You just don't think of them until all of a sudden you need to find a place. I found them on line and they were polite and professional. Could not ask for more.
Thank you for sharing, David!
Deciding to put a loved one in assisted living can be very traumatic. I was looking for a place for my 93 year old father that had just started showing signs on memory loss and dementia. He was in an independent living community, bu I realized after his last fall that he needed a little more attention. Kimberly, from A Place for Mom, was very helpful in giving me 5 places to start with and recommendations on what to look for. I found a great place, just 6 miles from my house. A Place for Mom took a lot of the guess work out of finding a place that is good for my dad in his final years. He's closer to me and I feel like he's safe.
Thank you, Kimberly, I will definitely recommend APFM if anyone is looking for help.
I worked with Julianne Miller-Ramos who was knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. She called after to ensure all went well with the intake, facility, and workers.
Heard about it on a tv commercial. Would 100 % recommend
A Place For Mom suggested the perfect place for my Mom. I tried to provide all of the information about her and her finances and it turned out better than expected during our trying time. I highly recommend using A Place For Mom as these professionals know the right questions to ask. The follow through by the representative was speedy fast with potential places calling me within an hour. I found the perfect place within 3 days. A Place For Mom was a big stress-reliever. It's also free to the user as the chosen facility pays them.
I contacted A Place for Mom when it was obvious that my sainted sister in law needed help with my mother in law who had Alzheimer's. They first referred me to the home health agencies in the area who immediately called me and discussed the unique problems associated with caring for a person with Alzheimer's. Even though it was evident that it was time for memory care living, these people kept in contact with us and helped s with the process. Once we made the decision to search, Mike, our senior advisor, contacted the appropriate facilities in the area and set up the appointments with the facilities. We only had to show up and make our decision. We would have been lost without A Place for Mom and the help this agency gave us. I recommend them to everyone.
We have used A Place for Mom to help us twice with our aging parents. Both times have been an absolutely wonderful experience and helped us greatly in an overwhelming time.
I had heard great things about them.
Please run away from doing business with this company.Use your own google search for adult family homes. If you are a adult family home provider never ever do business with them. The contracts are very bad and you end paying a lot more
I hope that some bureau/goverment institution/judge is gonna close this corporation. They are selling eldery people. Once you are in the a place for mom system they own you.
I filled out their online questionnaire and if course received a phone call within seconds. I was told we were on a recorded line, automatic call back. As soon as I said I was looking for a Memory Care place that takes Medicaid, I got let me get you to trusted advis...hung up on me! They are NOT there to help anyone only of you have money to spend will they help you.
I will say they called a lot but never gave me any real help just a list of places I could have gotten on the internet. I initially called for my Mom but place my Dad first in a home. As soon as they found out about my Dad they were off to get their commission and I never heard from them again. This is a work from home scam. They are dealing with people on their way to assisted living anyway but have an agreement with the homes to pay a commission if they can show they talked to them first.
Hi Rene,

We were forced to find a home for my mother-in-law who had been hospitalized. A Place For Mom assisted us with such patience. We had never dealt with dementia or being responsible for an elder and had no idea where to start. The representative was very helpful, she gave us lots of options close buy and checked on us to be sure we were doing okay. We couldn't be more thankful for their assistance finding the perfect home for our mom!
We are so happy to hear this! Thank you for sharing.

Hi Lisa,
I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience. You can do your own searches online, and we encourage families to research and educate themselves as much as possible on the process and their options. Our local Senior Living Advisors learn your needs, which helps narrow your search so you don’t have to look through thousands of listings online. Your Advisor will ask questions to get an understanding of your personal situation and will then identify and provide a list of the providers and/or communities from our network that meet your care needs and budget.
If you’re doing research online, we recommend searching communities on SeniorAdvisor.com, our site dedicated to consumer-generated ratings and reviews: https://www.senioradvisor.com/
