Highly knowledgeable of this industry. Within 30 minutes after contacting APFM, I had 5 confirmed appointments, complete with contact names, addresses, phone numbers and a description of services available. Highly, highly recommended!
Elison of Lake Worth. FL is getting bad, The food is mediocre at best, maintenance is poor.and Sagora Corp.,the owners, does not seem to want to invest a penny to remedy the situation. Moral is at an all time low with staff and residents. I would think twice about placing a loved one here.
We had already narrowed down our search to a few facilities and I was wanting insights or professional opinions on the places. So I called APFM. And boy do I regret it! They offered no new information and seemed keen to get me off the phone. All they really wanted was my contact info to unleash the hounds of every facility around. I specifically told them NOT to use my work number and gave a different number. And they NEVER asked permission to give my personal information out. But literally within 5 minutes of me hanging up with them (again being of NO help) I got three calls to the number I said do not use and got slammed with emails from various facilities. What a racket. Think about it- free to us, but they make their money somewhere. How? Their "partner" facilities. But partner facilities would never pay if they didn't get recommendations. I have never had my personal information bastardized in such record time. It was clearly about the money, with them politely trying to find out what my father did prior to retirement. While the people were pleasant, they should disclose that they are going to send your personal information out everywhere at record speed. Learn from our mistakes. I wish I had read reviews on them before calling.

Moving mom into a memory care facility was a difficult decision but we are so glad that it was Pacifica that we chose. It is truly a blessing knowing that Mom is getting the care and attention that she needs with respect, dignity and reassurance of well being. The staff works with the residents to keep their minds active and help them cope with their daily needs and health issues. The positive outlook they provide helps the residents feel they matter. They provide activities and make every day enjoyable. During visits with mom I could see that, not only the staff, but the other residents truly care for one another. What a wonderful reassurance to a resident's family. The staff reassures the residents' families that protocols, policies and procedures are followed which provides peace of mind. Thank you all for all that you do every day. You are all truly special people for the job you do and the sacrifices you make to care for others. I would recommend this facility without hesitation. It truly helps mom feel like it is home and she is surrounded by people who care about her.

I contacted A Place For Mom and an advisor (Mary Noack) responded right away with three good leads that fit our (very tight) budget; each of the facilities also contacted me proactively and we had our placement figured out in a matter of days. Mary Noack did an excellent job following up with me and making sure all my questions were answered. I would give 5 stars if there was information provided about Medicaid; it's clear that AFPM-recommended facilities are largely private-pay. We can make this work for now, but if my mother's care needs exceed her budget and we need to go the Medicaid Waiver route, APFM will not be much help.

I had an urgent case. I left a few messages and got a generic water downed response, a written message. No care no personal touch...
Only about the money.

I am an attorney who focuses on aging issues. I also have licenses in other professions that have ethical standards. I have been told by numerous marketing reps at various licensed facilities that they have received referrals from APFM reps who have never toured their facility, which raises the question of how credible can expertise be when the expert has no first-hand experience. APFM does not disclose to the consumer in their TV ads that their "free service" is compensated by the facility. My opinion is that APFM's advertising is misleading about their fees, and the "expertise" of their lead-generators is very shallow. In my opinion, APFM should AT LEAST be held to the same training and disclosures standards as a leasing agent at an apartment community. It seems remarkable and even shameful that this type of business is permitted to advertise without oversight and take advantage of vulnerable people. I do admit that some people have "used this service" and been referred to a facility that has met their needs. But it would be far better for a family member to use the internet and do independent research, consult a geriatric care manager, or a law firm that employs a care coordinator.

I called and got referrals to local people. They wanted hundreds of dollars to help me. Totally false advertizing. Don't wase your time do your own research.

While searching for place for our mother, we originally began exploring places from a "A Place for Mom", and with no success, we decided to look outside the area and I had communicated to their rep that we had begun the search on our own. She began to send us information on her own, in the mean time we identified a place for my mother independent from their assistance, which we communicated to her. Several months after my mother had been living at the senior care facility, A Place for Mom began demanding placement fee from the Senior Care Home. In essence this fee gets charged back to the families for original move in fee. We have attempted numerous times to let them know we did not use their service to find this place, but because this Senior Care Center is listed in their database, they are attempting to collect, when they did nothing to provide any assistance. Most of their information they provide can be found on your own on the internet. They even attempted to trick me into providing a survey on the senior care center, so that they can use the information as if we had used them for the placement. It's so sad & dissapointing that a service like this lacks the integrity and ethics.

Our family was in crisis due to a rapid change in our mother's situation. Contacting A Place for Mom was a great decision. Our personal adviser was prompt, supportive and efficient. She took the time to understand our family's needs. The information links she sent provided convenient, easy access to the information we needed to make a good decision for our mom. It is a "must" for families to personally visit the actual facilities because only a family member can determine the right fit for their parent. We picked the top three based on the information available through A Place for Mom and visited each. I would recommend that A Place for Mom provide more time for their advisers to make in-person visits to all their local facilities. The first two we visited weren't nearly as good as the third and final one. But, all that really mattered is that we did find the perfect place for our mom and we could not have done it without the services provided by our adviser. She made a very difficult time in our family's life a bit less stressful and I will always be grateful.
