Highly knowledgeable of this industry. Within 30 minutes after contacting APFM, I had 5 confirmed appointments, complete with contact names, addresses, phone numbers and a description of services available. Highly, highly recommended!
Elison of Lake Worth. FL is getting bad, The food is mediocre at best, maintenance is poor.and Sagora Corp.,the owners, does not seem to want to invest a penny to remedy the situation. Moral is at an all time low with staff and residents. I would think twice about placing a loved one here.
They say "give your email and phone number to get listings, prices etc". They take your contact info then give you nothing but spammy calls.

A Place For Mom is a poor player in this industry that needs competition sooner than later. The sooner I can live life without them, the better.
Date of experience: September 16, 2019
They do not tell you they don't deal with Medicaid patients until YOU think to ask. The opportunity comes up about 30 minutes into the initial call.

They helped when my Mom and my sister were ill.

SAD THAT THEY COULD NOT EVEN RECOMMEND A NURSING HOME ANYWHERE NEAR ME, BUT THEY NEVER EVEN PREPARED ME FOR THE NURSING HOME EXPERIENCE. I CRY EVERY TIME I SEE JOAN LUNDEN ON TV WITH THIS COMMERCIAL.
Tip for consumers:
PLEASE, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. THIS SERVICE IS USELESS.

I was actually looking up another place and A Place For Mom came up instead. Very helpful. After discussing everything with my family, we decided to keep our parent at home for as long as we can.

Great people to work with. Plenty of information to help you along the way.
Television ads seemed genuine and surprisingly it matched their business.

Generic emails, saying "look at all the places I've found for you!" I call the places: no room; don't accept Medicaid, whatever the reason. AWFUL!
Date of experience: January 29, 2018
I expected this service to provide availability and references on the places they refer you to. The rep I was talking to worked out of an office located 75 miles away from the area I was looking. She couldn't possibly have any clue about the referrals she sent me. All I received was a list of facilities that I had already researched on my own. What good are they? Further, I was very specific on my mom's spend down situation and got referrals to private pay facilities that were way over my mom's budget that would ultimately force her to move after 3 months of using up all the rest of her money. It seems to me that they attempt to get you to land in one of these places so they can get a kick-back ($$$). Do your own research and invest in personally visiting the facility. No one cares about your loved one more than you. APFM's only vested interest is getting paid for the referral. Bad business model that isn't in your best interest. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WOULD NEVER NEVER RECOMMEND A PLACE FOR MOM TO ANYONE!

A Place For Mom is not a business model, it's just A BIG SCAM.
All they do is to sell to Assisted Living Homes the info you provide to them for free.
They have zero expertise and 99% of the time they would not even accompany their customers to those homes.
PEOPLE wake up and do your own research! It is so simple. They claim to have expertise while they never visit the homes therefore they would not know whether it is a good fit for your beloved.
APFM is just a website network who trade the information we willingly surrender to them. Stop doing that anymore!
Search the internet, search on Google maps, make a few phone calls and evaluate the homes with your senses. APFM are claiming to be experts while they HAVE NO CLUE.
They claim to be free of charge for their elderly customers and their families looking for a nice Assisted Living Home. What you have to know is every Assisted Living Home is paying APFM 120% of one month's charge and beleive me that translates directly in the resident's charge. THEREFORE THEIR POOR QUALITY SERVICE IS NOT FREE!
APFM is forcing Assisted Living Homes to sign contracts that are against the law, in the state of Arizona. Their contract specifically prohibits the Homes from discussing with the residents or their families, the fee that APFM charges the Assisted Living Home (see attachment). The law, R4-33-408 says that the facility has to disclose and obtain signed statement indicating that a referral fee has been paid for all residents referred.
Stay away from the apfm SCAM!
Tip for consumers:
Stay away of A Place For Mom and do your own research online.
They trick you to believe they are experts while they don't even visit the homes they recommend.
Assisted Living Homes managers - stay away and do not submit any info on their websites. You won't be able to close your account ever.
