"A Place for mom" was a huge asset in helping my sisters and I, when it came time for our mom to move to an assisted living home. Our representative was knowledgeable, understanding, empathetic and showed great patience. Having never been down this road before the whole process would have been agony without their guidance and knowledge. From helpful and educational emails on various topics to supplying us with a list of properties to tour, and following up questions about decisions or additional information.
Please don't trust these people. They are all in it together. They stole all my mother's money and promised she'd always have a place to stay. They threw her in the hospital and refused to take her back into their facility when she finally got to another facility, they starved her to death. She went from 124 pounds down to 86 pounds in one month during Covid. I wasn't allowed to visit, they killed her Do not trust them they are all in it together. They act like they want to help you and they're so sympathetic soon as they get your money you can't get in touch with them.
As soon as A Place for Mom assigned my care coordinator Natalie i knew i was in good hands. She was empathetic and understanding of how i was feeling. Eventually i was going to have to put my husband in a facility due to his dementia. She helped me find several places in the area i was going to be living that met my budget. She arranged for me to visit them or hooked me up with someone at the facility to schedule a tour. She checked in with me frequently and when i made the decision she helped ease my guilt and stress by sharing with me stories and of other people who have been through the same. She told me that he would eventually thrive there because he would get the attention he needed 24/7. And she was right. I am working full time and not able to give him the attention he needed. I realized he was spending alot of time in front of the tv and not being stimulated. Here i am 6 weeks out and he's doing very well in the place i chose.
I was filling out a survey on line and they actually called me. I wasn't even done the survey. LOL But i needed help so the call was exactly what i needed at the time. I'm not sure i would have called them because i was very hesitant of the process. But they made it super easy. I highly recommend them.
Our search for a senior living facility for elderly father was greatly facilitated.
We had three weeks to find a facility. Couldn't have found one w/o help of aPlacefor Mom.
Recommendation
I was looking at a facility on my own while being hospitalized. Previously(before I was hospitalized) Antoinette Lee had discussed this facility with me. When I was discharged from the hospital, the medical staff directed me to a rehabilitation facility as a necessary treatment for me. To my surprise, they recommended the same location as the residential facility Ms. Lee and I had talked about. Once I got to the rehabilitation facility, I discovered the rehabilitation and residential facilities were collocated and were the type of facilities I wanted.
Both the rehabilitation and residential facilities were clean, safe and well maintained. The staff is ensuring the transition from one to another is painless for all concerned. The follow up by A Place for Mom is exemplary and greatly appreciated. Rather than being a crossed off name on a list, they have shown a genuine interest in my well being; something greatly appreciated by someone in my situation.
As soon as I started speaking to Kate, I realized I did not have to do this all alone. I felt relief from the pressure of not knowing where to start or who to call. She remains with me to this day to make sure I am OK. Thank you Kate and A Place for Mom.
I was reading out for help and I remembered the commercial.
Marci Clines was wonderful in assisting us with places to visit once she discovered our needs and what area we were interested in. We were undecided and would put looking on hold but, Marci always stayed in touch. Sending property web pages made it easy to decide if we wanted to visit in person. The property's were accommodating and easy to tour.
I had googled living places and that was how A Place for Mom reached out to us on a phone call. Marci was so nice and caring that we continued with the service which was free for us.
We were given a list of Assisted living homes with names and addresses along with phone numbers. From this list we set up a tour and were very happy with the accommodations and now have a date to move our dad into Rittenhouse Village. Thank you sincerely for your helpp.
Heard a commercial advertisement on TV and decided to call.
Life changed very quickly for us when my mom had a stoke and couldn't move her left side. I called a place for mom and t alked with Johnathan. He listened to me and gave me options. I didn't feel alone in this crazy time for me and my mother. The follow up and letting me know I can call back anytime was just what I needed to know I can handle this. I am forever grateful. Thank you.
I saw it often on TV.
A Place for Mom was very helpful in finding an Assisted Living place for Dad. I was very quickly (within minutes) contacted by very friendly & helpful representatives of A Place for Mom. The local agent was a good listener and had good understanding of the local facilities. She quickly provided recommendations for 5 local facilities and was helpful in quickly setting up tours. She was available to answer additional questions while I was evaluating possibilities. A Place for Mom definitely made the process of finding a place easier & less stressful.

We were looking for a place within a limited area. We narrowed down the recommendations because of that. Within that range we had four excellent options. We were able to preview the organizations online and use the Place for Mom guidelines to evaluate.
We knew of only one facility prior to contacting A Place For Mom
I was immediately placed with a case worker that took the time to listen to my concerns. Within hours I had been given a list of places. I receive helpful emails as well as continued support of my caseworker.
It popped up on my Google search for “senior living”!
I found A Place for Mom to be highly respectful and helpful. My Rep was extremely personable, and showed she cared about the details I provided in finding the place most suitable for my Mom. I couldn't have been more pleased with this organization.
Saw the Ad on TV and it appealed to me
It was a good experience, knowledgeable people doing they're jobs.
It was a choice we were comfortable with.
I like that it isn't very big. The residents are friendly as is the staff…. I like that I can be as busy as I want or go to the library and read the newspaper or a book. Rooms are cleaned daily. Food is fair…
Have seen advertisements and I needed info as to the next step in my life! I reached out and they were helpful and have subsequently followed through!
The place we choose for my mom was recommended by my mother in law. A place for mom set up two other appointments, one with Vitalia, which was nice, but not for our mom, and the other place never called. We friend to call them and no one answered, big red flag.
My mother will be moving in to Brookdale where my mother in law is.
Didn’t know how to start a search, except for the place where my mother in law was. Interestingly, she choose that one.
Katie was incredibly patient and understanding the entire way through our process. The overwhelming feeling I had when I first set out to find a good Assisted Care facility, was made so easy thanks to A Place for Mom!
When I googled a few retirement communities in my mom’s area, A place for Mom just popped up and so I called.
When I began my search for ALF's for my father, I was overwhelmed by all the options out there and didn't really know what to ask when visiting places. Tamara was a great help and very supportive on this journey to get my father (who was resistant to the idea) into a facility that could meet his needs and still allow him some independence. The emails from A Place for Mom were full of helpful articles that made making the decision easier and explained the differences in types of facilities as well as provided good unbiased advice.
I appreciated all of the help and support I got from Tamara and A Place for Mom, I would highly recommend them to anyone who is considering assisted living for a loved one.
I chose A Place for Mom because they seemed the most helpful without being pushy or trying to sell me something I didn't need or want. They are truly an asset in searching for assisted living.
Christy N was a wonderful representative for APFM. She listened, provided resources as needed, and was never pushy or forced things on me as I started a search for assisted care for both of my parents. She asked questions and provided some facilities that met the criteria I provided. I would get occasional emails with articles that had valuable information. Christy would check in with me from time to time and I appreciated that. Transitioning my parents to assisted care and assuring this was the right decision took us over four months as a family. It is a big change and APFM was invaluable with resources and suggestions of places that may meet my parents needs.
I believe I first saw APFM in an AARP email and then it was also recommended by someone I knew. I was a bit hesitant at first because I thought it would be "pressure sales", but it was the furthest thing from that. I still enjoy getting their emails with articles to read. I would highly recommend using APFM when beginning your search for additional care needs for aging parents.
The person who aided my family find the perfect place was amazing. She was with us through the entire process with guidance, suggestions and encouragement. We couldn't have done it without her. I'm grateful for a place for mom and the wonderful person who cared enough to help make the process have a happy ending.
TV commercial
A Place For Mom was a great resource when my father needed to move to a new Memory Care facility. They jumped right in and found locations that have memory care services and kept reassuring me that we would find the right place for him.
I tried to use Google to find facilities but it was ineffective and inefficient.
With A Place For Mom, the facilities contacted me and let me know what they had to offer.
When no one was accepting new patients, a place for mom was able to get my father placed for his advanced dementia. They found a place that tested and allowed him semi quarantined, but still getting contact needed. Thank you
They shared our information...
"compiled a list of options for your family to consider.
For your convenience, I have shared your requirements and information with the communities listed below and they may reach out directly. I also want to be a resource to help you coordinate your next steps. I'm here to answer any questions and can help arrange and confirm virtual tours or 1:1 consultations. I'm also available to talk afterward so we can walk through the pros and cons of each option."
When I asked a question about Hospice I didn't get an answer, I was told to look it up. The only thing done was ask me for information about my mother. So it is a do nothing service that directs you towards those who pay them... In my opinion!
I was shocked to discover that my father wasn't even able to take his medication out of the pill organizer because he would get confused about the day. Desperate for help, I found A Place for Mom's website and filled out my information. I immediately received an email response, and a few minutes later my phone rang. Anny helped me tremendously and set up two places for me to tour right away. A few days later I emailed her to let her know that I also needed suggestions for sister communities in a city close to my home and she was able to get that information to me right away.
A place for mom blew up my telephone with calls and then sent all my information via fax to all the assisted living communities in my area. Some I would not send my dog to. Come to find out, they collect the first months rent or more when you move in. Pure profit and little service.
Tip for consumers:
I would find a local company that provides tours to help find the best community.

Hectic due to our time deadline. With the referrals that cut out alot of research required by me it was fantastic.
Christina set up tours for my daughter and I at various facilities near Bangor Maine. She was very considerate of our schedule s and always kept us informed before and after our visits.
We couldn’t find a place on our own.
