Highly knowledgeable of this industry. Within 30 minutes after contacting APFM, I had 5 confirmed appointments, complete with contact names, addresses, phone numbers and a description of services available. Highly, highly recommended!
Elison of Lake Worth. FL is getting bad, The food is mediocre at best, maintenance is poor.and Sagora Corp.,the owners,does not seem to want to invest a penny to remedy the situation. Moral is at an all time low with staff and residents. I would think twice about placing a loved one here.
When I began looking for memory care facilities and needed to find a place in a hurry a place for mom set up tours for me and gave me guidelines of things to look for on the tours. They followed up to make sure I found a place. Excellent speedy service.

For starters, I never contacted A Place for Mom. When I went to a particular Independent Living site, I was redirected to A Place for Mom. The lady I talked to gave me 5 Independent Living places to consider. That was helpful. She also gave me price ranges for the places, which turned out to be very wrong, much too low. I contacted all the places on my own and got the real financials.
She would contact me occasionally to offer help. The last time she contacted me and offering to help, I asked for some references for a particular Independent Living place. She said she would pursue that and get back to me within a week. That was about 4 months ago and I still haven't heard from her.
Meanwhile we have selected and signed up for an Independent Living place.

The title of the review is very self explanatory. Yet, they recommend these places?!?! If you read the fine print, they are only referring you to places that pay them, yet the don't recommend or endorse them? Why are the communities that they refer not advertising on their own?!?!

I was in a pretty urgent need for finding care for my grandmother that developed Alzheimer's disease and couldn't safely be cared for at home any longer. I didn't really know where to start... how much does it cost, which facilities provide secure areas to prevent wandering (which was a problem for us), etc. The A Place for Mom advisor was local to me, knew the facilities, helped me figure out how we were going to pay for it all, and helped set up tours. An extremely helpful service. All of this was free to me. The Alzheimer's care facilities pay a fee to A Place for Mom to be part of the service. For me, it was worth it for my family as well as the place where she ended up.
Tip for consumers:
They will assign you an advisor that is local to you. Go ahead and connect with that advisor, because they will help you quickly identify the possible options and also answer questions about things like cost.

Called as I needed help to find an out of state community. This organization was great to work with as well as the advisor who continues to work with me.
Had seen tv ads over the years so thought I'd give the organization a try.

This is all about profit, not about helping you or your loved one. DO NOT CALL! You will never meet anyone in person. The majority of these 'people' work from home have have very little knowledge of the actual process. They will continue to harass you. Just tell them your parent has 'Medicaid' assistance. They will go away. ALL ABOUT PROFIT!

I wish I could give them no stars, as that's what I got from them - nothing. Nothing but hundreds of phone calls from places that aren't in the area we are looking. After about six to 9 months of taking calls from places they sold my name to I get a barrage of calls from a place for mom insisting on knowing where we moved our loved one - even thought they did nothing to actually help us find a suitable place. I assume they get paid a fee - for doing nothing. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this scam of a "service"

My mother doesn't have a lot of money. They were supposed to send me some options. Instead, they sent me an email saying she should look into medicare options and they couldn't provide me options. My husband and I were willing to help with the cost, but they just wrote us off. I cried when I received their email.

A Place for Mom helped me find a place. They made it so easy. They had the prices and info about each place before I went to see them. They setup the meetings for me and it really made things so much easier and less time consuming.

Carol sent me to the St. Joseph Senior Apartments in Salt Lake City because it was, unlike all the others in Salt Lake City, within my financial reach. When I saw it as just an Old Folks' Home, Carol asked me to think of it as a place where my life's endeavors and skills could add value to both my life and the lives of my future neighbors. It was magic! I am now performing again as an actor and singer, making money doing what I love most. I recently used the services of A Place for Mom as I was searching for a Memory Care until for my husband who has dementia. Kim was the associate with whom I have worked. She recommended several choices in the area and after visiting I was able to select the one that I felt best suited our needs. Kim was, and has continued to be, very caring and comforting throughout the process. She has checked in with me on several occasions to be sure that things were progressing smoothly and that my husband and I were both OK. I highly recommend A Place for Mom!

A family member told me about A Place For Mom, and I contacted them and heard back immediately. After chatting about our finances and location, the advisor recommended some places and after a little back and forth and another round of nursing home options, we found one within our budget and proximity - it was one of their very first recommendations. APFM was seriously invaluable in reducing our stress and making it easy at this difficult time.

At a time when the stress level was at it's peak, I stumbled across "A Place For Mom". I wasn't looking to place my mom as she no longer needed one. I was looking for assisted living for my son, who is wheelchair bound, and needed to be in a place. Where he would have care and assistance.
My advisor, Jennifer Paquette, was very helpful, encouraging and a good listener. She quickly found a few places for us to check out and within a month we found the perfect place. Jennifer followed up with phone calls and emails and I will always be grateful and appreciative of her humour and concern at a time when this mom needed it the most.

A place for Mom let's people add positive reviews on homes they have contracts with but they won't let the negative reviews get posted. Our mom was abused in Thousand Oaks and the owner's friend posted a fake positive review. They wouldn't remove it or add our truth. We even have copy of state violations & pic of stage 3 bedsore.

I ignored A Place for Mom initially because I was not looking for a place for my mom. I was not looking for assisted living or a nursing home. I was looking for an independent living apartment for my husband. Nicole contacted me after I had put out some feelers online. When I found out she could help me, I relied on her during the entire search process. She assessed my particular needs and requirements and arranged for visits to various locations. Thanks to her help, I was able to find an apartment which met our needs. We found a place that took into consideration our particular needs, rather than a one-size-fits-all mentality.

I tried this place for some real help but was pretty much turned away When I said that we only had $4,000.00 per month that we could afford. My dad needs real help and I promised my mom that my dad wouldn't go to a nursing home. I was seeking home respite care and they wouldn't help. I believe that they are just looking for the quick buck from fools that would use them.

I had been looking for a place for mom for over a year. Was doing it on my own. Mom ended up in the hospital with an infectIon and the social worker at the hospital asked if I was looking for a place for my mom... well. One thing led to another and they set me up with a place for mom! They were so helpful! They found a couple of places with my parameters to go visit and we found the perfect place! Thanks!

A PLACE FOR MOM made my search for a retirement facility in the Fort Worth area so easy. It is so easy to define the area where you want to live and provide them with your budget. They do the rest!
Within 24 hours of completing my questionnaire, I received a list of about 10 retirement facilities within my target area. At that point it was a matter of contacting each and arranging a visit.
We chose Parc Place in Bedford, Texas and are extremely pleased with our selection and the process, provided by A Place for Mom, in finding the right one

Do very little to assist families and take money from the community the resident has chosen. Families are bombarded with calls and emails. Google is enough to do the research and make the phone calls to set up tours.
