Got an email on the 19th of Jan 22 saying that my phone was on " BACKORDER" due to the Fake covid.we all know what the real reason is, its the computer chip shortage.
Been over 5 days now i Called to cancel service, still not done,

The folks at Assurance Wireless are inept. They bearly speak English & hang up after being long holds.
Complete total rip off, inaccurate deductible. I plan to file a claim with the BBB over this scam corporation.
Update # 2 (July 16 2021) Wiko game changer magically worked after 25 days of being turned off because it was useless and was not working right. Got a text message and even a letter in the mail asking me to use the cell phone or I
Would lose the service when I turned it back on. Meanwhile since I needed phone service I bought another one with Metro by T-Mobile and that was another adventure. Imagine if it would have been someone who only had that phone and no other service. Really sad. Customer service again is useless. They sound really happy to help you but are very limited as to what they can do.
Assurance gives free phones with malware and viruses and they know that( the ones that are pictured here). So they send you a phone with the same malware and viruses.
Apps downloaded to the phones without permission and ads like g21news showing up when you need to answer a call.
This info is on the internet.
And they have people in Walmart trying to get new customers with the same kind of phone. Wiko gamechanger and the girl told me it was released February 2021 who knows.
How sad that low income have to be stuck with junk.
Lifeline that is what this program is called and yet to them it is all about the money not the customers.
This service is the only connection some people have and ALL of these companies have the worst ratings.
There was one that was raided in Florida Q-LINK wireless for fraud.
Update # 1 It seems like you cannot cancel the account. Called several times and the said they would cancel it. I called my number number and it goes to voicemail so who knows what it is going on. Since the phone is useless I will just let it go and that is the end of this adventure. T-Mobile owns Assurance Wireless Metro by T-Mobile and Sprint not a good idea.

I've gone through two of these piece of $#*! phones, the first couldn't handle incoming or outgoing calls. The ring doesn't work about 40% of the time with incoming calls and outgoing calls just drop. All the apps kept crashing, I think due to preinstalled malware, (things are LOADED with $#*!ty games) I had to factory reset it three times, the third time locked me out completely, I called their "Help Line" which is in India and all they tell you is to reset it, ( one guy literately didn't even know how a Smartphone worked) I said I did and I couldn't get back in, then I was given a number that turned out to be Google Fibre ( which, if you don't know, have nothing whatever to do with Assurance Wireless or phone advice) I was sent another phone. SAME PROBLEMS. It worked for about a week, calls dropped, didn't ring with incoming calls, all the apps kept crashing again, factory reset it twice, got locked out, blah, blah, blah. They're both in a landfill now. Now they're saying "we've upgraded." From the recent reviews on here, it doesn't; t look like it. DON'T-EVEN-BOTHER.
When I first signed up with them they sent me a shock volt sv55 which broke 2 months later because that phone is a defective piece of garbage so when I contacted customer service I asked for them to send me a different model phone but they sent me the same exact defective piece of garbage after the representative lied to me and promised me a different model phone so after I received the new garbage phone I called back to customer service and he told me to wait until July (this was in May) and they would send me an email saying when the new phone would be in so when July came and went I called back to customer service and they said that they would send me a replacement phone in 7 to 10 days so when it never came i called back and was lied to again and promised a replacement phone that never came and apparently they did this until the 90 days warranty was up so now they are saying that they won't replace the phone unless I pay for a new phone plus 20$ to ship it and this is after another agent lied to me on Sept 25 and even gave me a confirmation number promising to send me a new phone and when I called back they said there's no record of that and told me if I wanted a new phone I would have to pay when they lied to me over and over just to get me off the phone so i would eventually have to pay if I wanted a phone that actually works so stay away from them because the free phones are defective garbage and they wont give you a replacement they will just lie to you until the warrenty expires

I just got off the phone a little while ago with some outsourced Indian customer service guy because I'd upgraded my Internet Connectivity in November because the regular android phone they provided me is so slow and crappy I hate using it, and all the correspondence I've received regarding the upgrade clearly states that the government subsidized upgraded service INCLUDES a new Smartphone, and yet I've not received one a whole month later! This guy acted smug, stating that is for new customers only" and said in 7 days I'd "get an update" from their "legal department" as if this "legal department" had a leg to stand on (which they don't). This is clear-cut breach of contract. Nowhere in the numerous marketing mailings previous, nor the two letters I received AFTER I upgraded did it state this is for new customers only. I did say to him that if people were to file a class-action suit Assurance Wireless would lose, and that I'm sure I'm not the only customer who has noticed this bait and switch they are trying to pull off. I said it would be best if they just honor the promise they made in writing numerous times than to suffer the humiliation of having the government conduct a probe and rescind the funds from them and possible legal action from customers. I told him that maybe some customers would fall for his lame excuse, but not me, as I know enough about the law to understand that they are false advertising and breaching an agreement. Attached are two letters I received both dated November 20th promising the new smartphone as part of the new upgraded package. One letter even goes so far as to remind me to activate the "new Smartphone" when I receive it and tells me instructions for how to set it up.
I think we all should call our members of Congress and report this, and file an official complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the FCC (Federal Communications Commission).
I'd be happy to go with another company that does honor their agreements and have the government do a chargeback of all the funding they issued Assurance Wireless.
I've had assurance wireless for years now. Every single phone they have sent me has not worked properly. Always something wrong. So I always called them and they would send me
"a new phone". NONE OF THESE SUPPOSETELY NEW PHONES WORK. THERE IS ALSAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS SOME PART THAT JUST WON'T WORK. HOWEVER, THIS YEAR THEY ARE COMPLETELY LYING AND PLAYING GAMES. SUPPOSETELY THEY WON'T REPLACE A PHONE THEY SENT ME LESS THEN 3 MONTHS AGO, SAYING THE WARRANTY HAS PASSED. THEY NEVER HAD 3 MONTH WARRANTY ON THESE STUPIT PHONES. THEY ARE INSISTING FOR ME TO PAY $39.99 IN ORDER FOR THEM TO SEND ME A PHONE. MIND U NONE OF THEIR PHONES WORK, SO EVEN IF I PAY, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE I'LL GET A GOOD WORKING PHONE. BUT THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A 3 MONTH WARRANTY. THEY ARE LYING THROUGH THEIR TEETH. THEY ARE ALL LOCATED IN PHILIPINES AND THERE IS NO WAY FOR ME TO CONTACT ANYONE IN USA. SEVERAL OF THEIR WORKERS PROMISED ME A NEW PHONE WITH NO CHARGE, GAVE ME ORDER NUMBER BUT THE PHONE NEVER CAME. WHEN I CALLED, THEY ARE SAYING THERE IS NO ORDER. I WANT TO SUE THIS COMPANY/PEOPLE. I AM FURIOUS. THEY DON'T DESERVE ANY STARS. NO STARS GIVEN.

NOT ONLY SWERE THE PHONES SORRY, THE SERVICE WAS EVEN WORSE. THE SIGNAL FROM THE PHONE WAS SO WEAK, NO ONE I TALKED TO ON THEM, COULD UNDERSGTAND ME, BECAUSE THE SOUND WOULD GO IN AND OUT. AND IT SHOULD HAV E BEEN BEETER BECAUSE THE NEAREST CELL TOWER FROM MY HOME, WAS ONLY A FEW MILES AWAY. EVEN WHEN I WAS NEAr a a cell toweR IT WAS JUT AS BAD. WELL, I CANCELED MY SERVICE WIKTH THEM AFTER MY LAST PHONE WITH THEM, AND WENT WITH ANOTHER LIFELINE CArrier. IVE HAD my new phone a bout two weeks, and the service is reaklly good. Also the phone brand is a good national brand, that ive heard is a really good cell phone brand.

I received a phone and it is crap. Yes I am on ACP free phone program. But the worked for maybe a week and then started having major issues. Phone is super slow way glitchy and only works when it wants to. Won't call or text says number invalid and then I use my friends pone and call or text the same number with no issues. So what to do you wonder. Maybe call and get a replacement. Yeah lets do that shall we... call and well yeah you can get a new phone but you gotta either pay for new one or pay the shipping costs. Well I didn't ask for a broke $#*! phone nor did I break broke $#*! phone.couldnt pay for phone, that's why I got on ACP prorgrm from the start. Well now what they don't wanna wave the fee nor help in any way, b great customer service...Not!
