I have had a very positive experience with orders from Athleta. The items are always as described and of good quality. Customer service personnel are always pleasant, and accommodating. Just because one thing might go wrong with an order does not mean the company is dishonest and insensitive toward customer's needs. After all, nothing ever runs 100% all the time. So I am giving a review that is fair. And well deserved, in my opinion. And hope others will be fair as well, about the merchandise and overall shopping experience with Athleta.
I have been shopping at Athleta for years. They always had an excellent return policy, even if a garment got damaged. No longer. You get 30 days to return or exchange an item, even for store credit. If you buy on line and want to exchange in the store, the item has to be returned and then purchase what you want. So if you got in on sale on line and you need a different size, you lose the sale price. I will never shop here again. They have lost a good customer.
I ordered a pair of shorts that ended up to be too big so I did a refund. I received an email that they received them and they would be doing a refund. Long story short, I never received my refund…they said it was processed back to my Apple Pay and told me to contact them. So I did and apply pay said that they didn't see anything to contact Athleta or my bank. This has been a nightmare and lesson learned! I will never order online from them again. So, they get their shorts back and my money. Wonderful scam they have going on. I'm very pissed!

I tried Athleta because I've had friends say how great it is. The clothing I did receive from my order was nice quality however, 1 of the items I ordered ended up not being available and it was the top part of the swimsuit I ordered. Sorry but I'm not just going to wear the bottoms... Then it was a nightmare to try to return the item. I ordered online and I will never do that again. If an item is gone then mark it gone. Absolute terrible online service. I will never order from them again.
Returned a large online petite order Jan 30. The skus' were mislabelled and caused confusion. Finally resolved but the young clerk just turned away after we were finished, never apologized for the problem, never asked if she could help me find something else. A real downer and not a smile the whole time.
Purchase items on line... email confirmation they were on the way... then days later an email stating they were no longer available. Refused to credit my credit card. Wait... gets worse... items still available on line! Leadership team is worse than reg customer service!

This site is very easy to navigate, and ordering is a snap. I love the workout clothing and the apres workout attire - my favorite dress is one I bought for my trip to Mexico in 2010 - the Pack Everywhere dress; I still wear it every summer. A waiter in Mexico spilled o. J. on my lap and it just rolled off the dress - not a spot on it!
I used to love Athleta. I have spent thousands of dollars on their leggings. The same leggings I have ordered for years no longer fit. They keep making changes to their products; unfortunately, these changes are not making products better, they are making them worse! The exact same pair of lettings no longer fits me. I read other reviews complaining about this. In addition, their customer service is terribel. Off to Lulu Lemon I go.

Bag arrived open and one item was missing. They issued me a credit for the missing item.
I returned two items to store and didn't receive credit to my credit card. Customer service claimed the store returned the two items separately and hence credit went to my credit card as 2 separate credits. This is hogwash.
The credit on my receipt was for $273. And they claim they split the credits. The credit on the receipt is how it should post to my credit card.
They are apparently run some kind of scam operation. Don't order online from this company

I made a return on a gift card purchase and received a gift card back for the return. Tried to purchase something online but the gift card pin number was all messed up. I contacted the company and they told me I need to go to the store and get a replacement card. I'm not thrilled to have to go all the way to the store in order to make an online purchase. To make matters worse, the item I wanted to purchase was stolen out of my cart from another customer. Really? Athleta is losing one of their best customers.
Over priced and disappointed. The fabric is very thin, similar to a thin cotton tshirt with a lot of stretch. This is a quality beach cover, not a dress to wear for an event. You can see some undergarments under it. It shows every bump around your bra. This fabric is not like their quality skort! I returned it and shopped for a dress to wear for dinner that look like something other than a giant t shirt. It was true to size

After spending 30 minutes on chat to resolve receiving my order completely wrinkled and unwearable truly in a garbage bag the customer service, if you can can call it that, disconnected me when I tried to upload photos they requested.
This is one place that really needs to go out of business. Try ALO. They have much nicer casual wear and it's received in boxes, not garbage bags and if anything is wrong they are right on top of it.
I ordered two Be Free Knickers, size S. I was sent one Be Free Knicker, size S and one tote. So I had to call customer service, wait on hold, reorder the other Knicker, repackage the tote, and make a trip to the post office to mail back the tote. The replacement Knicker that was sent to me was size XS (the reorder email says XS and I guess I should've noticed that but how much of their job do I need to do?). I can squeeze into the XS and I am not going to waste any more time returning it to get what I actually ordered in the first place. This was a very disappointing experience and I will not be ordering from Athleta again. How about some attention to detail? How could an order of 2 of the same thing be turned into 1 and then something totally different? How could a replacement be turned into the wrong size? You've lost this customer but you might want to shape up before you lose more.
Marrissa was of no help and terrible at assisting me on the online chat today. She provided no information on instore or online coupons and when I asked about a student discount I had received in the last she told me there was not such thing and that stores have different discounts. I've gone to plenty and they all have given me a student discount. I'm disappointed with how she handled it and she cut me out of the chat abruptly during our discussion. These items are expensive and I will not be buying them since she was so rude and unhelpful. I think her I'd number should be provided so I can inform her superior. Very dissatisfied. During covid promotion of online purchases should be considered less contamination and should be promoted. I'm sad that she was so rude and unhelpful during these hard times. I guess profit is all they care about, definitely not customer satisfaction.
WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE: I walked in the athleta store at Old Orchard mall for the first time to take a closer look at some leggings I liked on the window display. I walked around the store for a few minutes. I was thinking of trying the pants on and then I realized nobody greeted me. I went to the back to look at the sale rack and walked back to the pants I was thinking of buying and the sales person walked by and looked the other way as if I wasn't there. I then waited for the cashiers to finish their transactions one looked at me and didn't say anything. I got a little upset. I googled their store while I was there. I wrote an email about my experience while I was still there and still no-one came to see if I needed anything. I left the store thinking to myself I have been to worse places with better customer service. I'm Hispanic by the way. I don't know if this has anything to do with that. I will never go back to this place.

Athleta sent me the wrong size brooklyn jogger- and while the associate apologized about their mistake and understood it was their mistake- they explained they could simply not exchange final sale items. It's not my fault if they sent the wrong size. Will be aaifing for a soljtion
I've been waiting for masks for 3 months. Never received them and will not order from a company that does not take care of their customers. Lululemon just got another customer today.
Athleta received return of products and would not credit account for 6 weeks and continued to charge credit card with interest. Will never purchase from them again.
The amount of time it takes to get a refund is completely UNACCEPTABLE. I've reached out TWICE to customer service asking about the status of my refund that was received by them weeks ago and they just tell you to wait. This has happened with a previous order, too. Now I'm assuming my order will get lost in the shuffle of all the Christmas returns and I'll have to reach out to them YET AGAIN wondering where my refund is. Terrible and inconvenient!
Also, they use a shipping company called UDS that oftentimes steals or misdelivers packages. Do I need anymore reasons to stop shopping at Athleta? I don't think so.
I received a very nice $55 reward for shopping at Athleta. I was excited because this was above what I needed to get a free $49 bra that I'd had my eye on. When I got there I saw another item that I liked, and I thought I'd treat myself since I was getting the bra for free. Once home with the two items, I realized my impulse buy was not going to work and that I needed to return it. That was ok though, I'd get my $70 back and even have some points left over. Upon arrival they only wanted to give me approximately half of my money back because they applied the rewards to both items instead of one. I was hoping for a simple adjustment that would apply the rewards to the one item I was keeping (as would have been the case if it was all that I bought). However, the clerk put me on with customer service who maintained that they would not give me all of my money back for my return. This was a bit infuriating because if I had not made an impulse buy in the first place and just purchased the originally coveted bra, I would not have had to give them any money at all. Unfortunately, now I still only have one item and they have my money. This is a backwards business choice and poor customer service. Essentially, I've been penalized for making (and returning) an impulse buy. My excitement about the company for rewarding me for my business turned quickly to disappointment. This will forever discourage me from making any purchases beyond my rewards in the future and honestly just discourage me from shopping at Athleta at all.
The cashier didn't accept return after 15 MINUTES of purchase. At the time of purchase, I had asked the cashier about the return policy and she had not mentioned that on sale clothes could not be taken back.
I've read a lot of reviews for Athleta--many are complimentary, but my experience was not positive even though the company's marketing and online communication would lead customers to believe it is. I ordered 4 items; was sent an email indicating all were shipped; was later sent an email that one item was not available... confusing... was sent an email that my order had been delivered. It hadn't been delivered... was told on the phone that if I wanted the items shipped again, I would have to either wait for another department to review my "case," or I could place another order and be charged again. They were unwilling to credit me despite the fact that I didn't have the first order. I found it really hard to understand both customer service representatives--not because they were not fluent in English, but because they fired off their rules and limitations so quickly I found myself asking them to repeat themselves.
I guess I just miss a time when -- as a customer -- it felt as though one's business was appreciated. This company is more interested in making its profit than pleasing the people who bring that profit in. Beware if there is a mix-up on your order. Judgement will not be in your favor.
I prefer athleta over lulus! The quality is so much better. My lulus started pilling less than a year of owning them. My athleta has never had a problem. Will never go back to lululemon again!

I have bought their bras and leggings in store and online. The ladies in the store are always so helpful.
I ordered 2 leggings, that weren't cheap. I received my items and didn't like them at all. Quality was garbage and not worth the price of them. I sent them back for a refund. First, they didn't want to refund me fully for the leggings. Second, I sent them back almost a month ago and have yet to receive my refund. First time I called,, they told me 10 business days. I waited and called again about getting my money back. Second time I called, they told me 15 business days. I waited 16 business days and still haven't received my refund. Called again and now there is a case that was filed to get my refund. Now I have to wait another 3-5 days just to be put through the ringer yet again. This was my first experience with this company and surely will be my last. Customer service is absolute garbage. I'm livid and I'll never ever give another penny to this awful company or any of their affiliates. I'll be sure to let all my friends and family know about this nonsense as well. Never have I ever had to wait this long for a refund after they received their product back from me. Shame on you Athleta! Never again!

I ordered online from Athleta and when I received my confirmation email and immediately noticed that the online computer system overwrote my current shipping and billing address with an address from 2 years ago. I called customer service immediately after seeing the incorrect address on the confirmation email, less than 5 minutes and worked with them for the next three days to attempt to get the order cancelled. They kept saying I think we were able to cancel it, but we cannot confirm that we can cancel the order. They did not get it cancelled. I now doubt whether they did anything. Do know that even though their system screwed this up. I was being charged for two orders, the one sent to the wrong address and the one sent to the correct address. After the three days and seeing shipment confirmation email addresses to the wrong address they offered to credit the first order for 30 days as long as the first order is returned. In my case, this meant I would have drive hours to an old address, pay tolls and apologize to the people who live there now to return items that should have never been shipped. This is ridiculous that they have such a poor online ordering system that has now caused me to have to be their customer service, quality assurance and return person and if they screw up the return, I will be charged the original order again! What exactly was I supposed to do if this had happened and we had moved out of state or across the country I asked them?! What it means, is that Athleta is expecting, you, the consumer, their customer, to pay for their mistakes!
For the last four months I've tried to unsubscribe from both Athleta and Athleta Fit Pro emails. I have hit UNSUBSCRIBE on FOUR different occasions and STILL receiving emails. So then I called the number at the bottom of the emails.
On the FOURTH CALL I was ASSURED by a manager that I would be REMOVED from ALL emails. Guess what? I'm STILL receiving them!
On the FIFTH call I speak to another customer manager and she tells me that I need to CALL the STORE where I signed up for the Fit PRO membership. I call the store and of course they tell me they have nothing to do with the emails or control of unsubscribing.
This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous! Can you explain this? Do you think I'll EVER shop with you AGAIN?

The woman waiting on me was in attack mode and not al all understanding that I am paying her salary! Rude, demanding and only did the right thing after telling me it was a one time curtesy! Really!?!
I had bought two 89 dollar pants - go in the ext day to buy a blouse I like - they gave me 25% off - nice. So, of course I wanted the same curtesy for the very expensive sweat pants I had already purchased, so I went back with them and had the receipt.
I was treated as if I had robbed the store, EVERYTHING she said was RUDE and demanding. I COULD HAVE SIMPLY returned and REBOUGHT them!
Do they not realize how this effects their business, I am going to tell EVERYONE! Turned their bag inside out - as not to give them free advertisement!
FYI, In my town we have MANY stores to choose from!
