Love my Lurch fat bike, wanted to get some different end caps to run a carbon fork. Emailed bikesdirect and Larry took care of it with great communication and quick service. Zero complaints on my bikesdirect experience!
I purchased a Windsor Wellington 2.0. Ordered on Saturday night and had it on Wed. Morning, which was great. Beautiful bike packed to perfection, everything in great shape. I noticed my bike did not have the brakes advertised and this is where it becomes superior service. Larry, a Bikes Direct rep got my really not nice email and answered me in only about an hour and offered brakes I wanted which he did not have to do. He was so kind I felt bad. I can't say enough about Bikes Direct. They are the best! Got brakes in just a few days Priority Mail.
We had a great experience with BikesDirect. We bought two Windsor Tourists and used them to cycle down the Pacific coast. They were very reasonably priced, pretty easy to assemble and came super fast. The bikes have been very reliable and have made it the whole trip without any issues relevant to their construction.
With regards to an accidental over payment issue they were very understanding in their response and refunded the money without hassle. I would use them again.
I bought a New Fuji SL 3.2 and received my bike in no time. I had a problem with one of the tires and called and everyone involved was very helpful. Larry in the service department was amazing to work with! Would definitely buy from Bikes direct again. Have nothing bad to say about this company at all. Great bike at a great price with great service! What more could you ask for?
I've been using BD for a while now for ordering bikes and they havent failed me yet. Fair prices and good service the few times I needed their help.
Ship times are OK once you realize the boxes are fairly large. Putting the bike together is a breeze once you do it once. Youtube videos are super helpful with assembly and tune ups!
Very happy with their customer service! I highly recommend BikesDirect. I have purchased 5 bikes from them. On my last one, a HAL-e, I lost the thru axle end frame nut on the trail (it's rare to loose). I contacted them, and immediately Larry email with an answer, this part had to be order from the manufacture, he kept me informed as to when it would be delivered. Would definitely continue to purchase my bikes from them.
I really wanted a new road bike -- but all dealers in my area had only bikes from $900 and up. I found a great road bike on bikesdirect for $399 and got free shipping and paid no sales tax.
Turns out this bike is the same as bikes my local shops sell for about $1000
Needless to say, I am very happy. The bike has been great and I love it.
Buyers should note: bikes come in a box and it takes about an hour to setup.
My bike came with a few parts missing.
I emailed their customer service with pictures, and they responded swiftly. Larry, the service representative, created the new shipping label for the missing parts was created within 15 minutes.
Even though accidents happen, I am very happy with how BikesDirect's customer support, and Larry in particular, handled it.
I would definitely do business with BikesDirect again, purely because I have the safe of mind knowing that they put the customer first.
Larry from Bikes Direct has been extremely helpful!
We would like to especially thank Larry for including the useful tool for my brakes replacement (didn't expect it and it was a pleasant surprise).
Super quick responses and shipping of the parts. Customer service at its best!
Suggesting Bikes Direct to anyone we know who is looking for a bicycle! :)
I received my new road bike from bikes direct in good condition aside from
One issue, details to follow. I was slightly overwhelmed by the unpacking and assembly but was determined to do it myself. I watched the videos that were sent to me and I was able to get everything tightened down. The only thing I was stumped on was the tires and how to inflate them. I figured it out quickly after a bit of research but wish I had known beforehand so I could have had the right pump ready. All is well now and I plan to help my boyfriend choose one soon so we can ride together. I do recommend this company.
Answer: I would recommend that you think about a hybrid bike first, as the tires are larger & the 26 inch wheels are a bit stronger. Also, you will be more comfortable riding on an upright position. If you like it, use it to loose weight while saving for a decent road bike.
Answer: Hi - the bike depends upon the type of riding you want to do and what you want out of riding. Do you want comfort? Durability? Speed? More upright riding position? Definitely want to look at bikes with larger tires as they would be more comfortable. The CycleCross type bikes are fast but have a bit larger tires for more durability and comfort than a skinny tire road bike. Check out the OmniStrada which have knobbier and larger tires than the regular cross bikes. They also have top tech tubeless compatible rims which you can easily convert with sealant and kit to being virtually flat free :) Check them out: http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/cross_bikes.htm
Answer: No. The bike should come ready to ride.
Answer: I ordered after hours on Wednesday night, recived confirmation of payment via PayPal instantly. Email receipt received Friday morning.

Assembly is easy and fun- an eleven year old customer sent in a video where they assembled their own bike. These bikes are packed well for protection, in some cases; it takes longer to unpack all the wrapping than the actual assembly time.
Happy Riding,
