“Love it because”

You can find the best price on items and find out where they are sold. It's so easy. I don't always find what I am looking for, but there are a few other sites, like Amazon, that are very likely to have whatever I want or need.

“Bait and switch”

Promises something of value ($100),makes you work for it by answering questions, and then you find out your "reward" is 4 magazine subscriptions that are no way worth $100 (they have special rates all the time) and you have to pay $2.00 each to "process" and they are are self-renewing to boot. Scam. Shou ;d be illegal.

Lured by contest entry in exchange for filling an overlong redundant survey, they "reward" you with a website hang that exempts them from having to follow through with the reward. This is classic bait and switch. Bizrate seems to be an unethical outfit.

Not sure who these people are, but doing business with sites that have been certified by them is not much different than getting mugged downtown. They will not honor the purchase or attempt to save the sale. It's a scam.

I completed a Bizrate survey after an online purchase. As a "$25" reward I was offered "free" subscriptions to various magazines, but with some processing charges. Never give these people any personal information or use their services. Beware of Bizrate.

Tip for consumers:
BTW, Bizrate asked for my em associated with my pay pal account (nonexistent). Don't give out this or other information. Typical scam. I filed a complaint with FTC which warns this is a typical type scam.

A lot of people are complaining about the $100/Magazine scam. That's not the worst of it. I answered the survey and within 24 hours, my SPAM emails went up 782%. They farm out your email address to other Bizarre connected businesses. Anybody want to buy pink hair ribbons for their gerbil? How about a dozen life insurance or air freshener for their car or closet? You'll get bombed with spam.

Bizrate's $100 offer is a complete SCAM. Read the find print at the end of the survey! I was suspicious, but thought I would check it out. After completing their review, you must must give them a credit card number to get the "free" magazines and authorize automatic payments for each one. Never again! Wish I could give negative 5 stars.

Unless you are ok with companies receiving your credit card information and being charged yearly for multiple magazine subscriptions without advance notice to opt out of the renewal charges, DO NOT participate in any of these surveys. I made an online purchase last year through a "reputable" company, and figured I'd give them a good review via the Bizrate survey at the end of my purchase. BAD IDEA. The company i purchased from gave all of my information to the company that offers the free magazine subscriptions, and one year later, I get slammed in the bank account to the tune of over $160. What a scam. How is this even legal? Most people can't remember what they ate for lunch yesterday, let alone cancel a "free trial" offer from over a year before. Not only will I avoid Bizrate, I will now avoid any transactions with the company I made the purchase from. Shame, because I really liked that candle company. Damn Yankee.

Our ecommerce company used Bizrate for years beginning about 2001 until we learned that our paying customers were getting a "reward" for completing a survey. We had no idea this was going on until a customer called asking why they needed to give up their CC # since they had just placed an order with us. Customers were hooked into signing up for a worthless services that included an auto-renew. Our Bizrate rep was unapologetic and said "you folks did sign our Terms of Agreement which allows this."

This website will ask you to give reviews and comments on your recent purchase from another website. Doesn't matter you give a good or bad reviews, they won't post or care about it. I don't know what's the purpose of this website.

I even emailed them my problem with Gifttree.com. They said this is not what they look at. Well, look at their website and still advertising for Gifttree, I know the whole thing is fake.

Most likely just get your email and let you fall into those give crappy gifts but they charge you processing fee. Don't even waste time to do their survey or review. Useless.

Bizrate regularly sends me "750 point surveys"... which they let you get 5-10 min into, and then they say quota has been met and award you 50 points. That's right, it takes 100 surveys like that to get $5! Not doing that again.

They say "you'll be great for this survey" and 10% in or so it says you're not a good fit but here is another survey only to get a little ways into that and be told its not a good fit again. This happened about a half a dozen times before gave up. Seems like a scam or data mining maybe. I would stay away, I have to dump my email now.

Avoid this site If at all Possible and I do mean That!
I'm soo feed up with them I'm done. I have done their Surveys for the past 2 yrs and it has gotten so worse then it was.

I'm still waiting on 2) $5.00 cards that was sent out in September! *IF* you can get someone to answer your Email, and not a auto-bot answering system. I was told my E-Cards were sent to my Gmail account. Nothing was ever received! And I did not get a confirmation like I have before that it was delivered.

I have spent 28,230 hours *Months* of work for them, Some of the Surveys would last up to 48 minutes at a time only to get to 99% completion to be told "I do not Qualify!" ~OR~ "Quota Full" and you get 0.0 Points for all that work, time & effort.

You can't trust this site anymore. They were a Legit Company, Now there a Legit ~Rip-OFF!~

Bizrate gives $100 reward for survey, after an online purchase but does not tell you that this money is in the form of magazine subscriptions until after the survey, capturing your address, etc. information. I don't need your stinking magazine subs and upfront processing fee charges bizrate. I feel tricked!

Bizrate is a partner to Zola, a wedding registery. My elderly & poor-sighted aunt just wanted to send a wedding gift out & was FORCED to pick out 4 magazines she neither wants or can read. Bizrate has her credit card & will bill her for something she didn't ask for. Please stop the shady underhanded moves, Bizrate. You should be ashamed! If your have blackmail people to use your service, what type of service are you?

Tip for consumers:
Do not use Zola or companies that partner with BizRate!

I signed up to take the Bizrate surveys and once I reached 1,650 points every survey came back that I was not a good fit for the survey. Of course, this is after I had already answered questions that could be used in the survey - such as brand preferences or brand knowledge. They have been promising me a $100.00 gift certificate for months as soon as I reach a certain point level. Their emails always start with an offer to do a survey with 1000 plus points, but after a few questions they tell me that survey isn't available but I can take one of 250 points and as stated above as soon as I answer all their questions, I'm told I don't qualify for the survey. I'm calling BS on this. They use the answers, but offer nothing in return.

Tip for consumers:
Don't waste your time.

If you like to make customers enemies by using Bizrate, you are more than welcome too.

I was happy to purchase over $150 worth of product from a website, love the experience and wrote a glowing review. I filled out a survey and was rewarded with a Bizrate marketing ploy.

The company that hired Bizrate has not lost me as a raving fan and customer.

Tip for consumers:

Bizrate has taken me through multiple questions after clicking "Start Survey" link and then finds out I work in marketing and tells me the survey has hit its quota and gives me 25 points instead of the 1,000 promised. Obviously not true, and if they want to weed people out from the survey they should ask those questions up front. Hey Bizrate, what do you do with the information I've provided you?

I have been getting magazines from the biz ate survey for years. I just call up the 800 number for The Magazine Center and ask not to be on auto-pay, that way I don't get charged for a full subscription when the year is up. Have never had a problem with my cc being used illegally, or my getting tons of Spam. This is the only way I can afford magazine subscriptions, so I am grateful.

Wow! The customer Service representative, Jane Miles, with whom we spoke today, guided my wife and I through the world of ceiling fans to get the best product for us and our needs! Jane spent time with us examining the specs and details. She was knowledgeable, informative and consistently patient with us and our questions, all of which resulted in us purchasing highly-rated ceiling fans for our beautiful new home.
Thank you again, Jane! We truly appreciated your knowledge of the products and the careful attention to detail to paid.

Is not a scam! Although it would be helpful if the site told clients upfront that the 'free' reward cost $2.00 shipping/handling. There is a wide variety of magazines to choose from and you do not have to pick 4. Pick 1, 2, 3 or 4. When the time comes to renew at the magazine site you will get a card in the mail well in advance of keeping-canceling the subscription and Nobody bothers you about it one way or the other. Like one reviewer says " it is old fashion customer service" Easy peesy. I have gotten this award a few times over the years and nothing about that has changed. In our world of uncertainty it is good to know somethings are still 'normal' Think about how much a subscription for Readers Digest or Time magazine charges. And you only pay the $2 S&H. It is the best reward out there.

Tip for consumers:
You do not have to choose 4 magazines. It will tell you you have 3 more selections but you just ignore that , unless you want more :) No way could I ever afford a magazine subscription.

I bought something on Estee Lauder this morning, when I finished my purchase it appear the survey, I (foolish) took the survey, but I didn't accept the "reward" (the magazines) my surprise was 3 hours before, when my credit card notified me that a $ 493 purchase had been made with my credit card, the same card I used with my Estee Lauder purchase. This is the first time I have a problem like that with my card so I really think this site has something to do with it. BE AWARE!
