“Got really lucky”

Siegmund L.
4/2/24

They motto is truthful. I needed to create a website for a very small event of our company and as one of the heads, I was forced to do that. I started to search for various solutions and found these guys. Terms were veeeery tight, I got to meet all the deadlines, and due to them I managed to create a beautiful website within a couple of hours, just from the scratch. I ain't know maybe i got lucky, but if I am so lucky, then I need to go to the lottery :D

“ZERO stars- believe the bad reviews!”

I had been with bludomain for many, many years without issue. I thought the templates were great and easy to use. However, all of that is absolutely useless when you are completely ignored! Previously, I had no customer service issues, however, when my renewal came up for this year, I never received an invoice. I reached out with no response. My site was removed so I submitted an emergency support ticket and again I was ignored. I reached out though facebook. NOTHING. No acknowledgement at all. Now I have lost my entire website content, hours and hours of work, countless photos and my DOMAIN NAME. I am absolutely devastated. I have to start over completely. Do not let the bludomain website fool you, they cannot be trusted.

They suck! And they don't respond to support requests. This is what my mobile site has looked like for 6 months.

I don't show any tickets from Erika S. If you can send your request to info@bludomain.com - very sorry to hear this - I don't know how to help you on here as there is no domain name. Look forward to hearing from you.

First of all my name is Carlo, not Carlos.
What you are telling me "I would highly recommend you take the option of putting up a gallery, an about us page, a homepage and a contact page which should take no longer than one hour" is not possible because my admin log in link is giving me a totally white page and nothing else leaving no way to do anything.
I asked for a refund of the money that i sent you for the hosting immediately, because my site was down due your site crash days before the payment was made. At the time of my payment to renew my hosting with you I didn't knew that, until some clients told me. Still till now I don't have anything to work on my site as I just explain you. I demand also the refund of the cost of the template that I payd for and I don't have anymore. Since before the 26 of June (day that I made the payment) I have no site, I have no hosting, I have no way to rebuild my site, you lost all my emails and worst of all you lost all my clients proofing galleries that is a huge lost of income for me. Aren't those enough reasons to demand my money back and perhaps ask for much much more if you are keeping holding me back? Since you haven't delivered any service but in contrary you lost everything that belongs to me I have all the legal rights to demand my money back. My patient will be over if my demands will not be satisfied before Friday 20 of July.

Aundrea H, telling your clients that they are making a ridiculous statement is like calling them ridiculous. That's the level of your professionalism. And this is your answer to a client who has paid you for 10 years, purchasing several templates and expensive hosting. Just like your lack of professionalism on your FB page where the admin simply deletes any negative comments. What sort of company announces via their social media channels that they simply don't read their clients' comments because they're negative? But of course you also deleted your own comments because clearly you recognised that it was ridiculous to say something like that in the first place. So who is ridiculous now? The bottom line is that my site has been down for more than two weeks, I'm waiting on a refund for hosting, my clients lost all of their proofing galleries, I have to spend weeks to create a brand new site and all my clients are asking me what sort of site do I have. So, if all this doesn't sound to you like it has ruined a photographer's reputation, what would be your definition? But it's probably better you don't answer that because clearly you're not qualified to do so. You should maybe choose another line of work, because that is not how a company communicates with its clients. But of course you're thinking that due to the complications of a lawsuit, most people won't take that course. Well, I hope that there will be a class action at some point soon. Not only has it affected me, but it has also affected my clients. Who is going to pay me for the weeks of work to upload all of the content on my site and what about all the emails I've lost?

bludomain.com you are totally unprofessional. My site doesn't work anymore and you lost all my data and photos. You have ruined years of work of thousands of photographers who have been supporting you, as I do, for years. Better to be ready to face thousands lawsuits

I have been with bludomain for 10 years, maybe more. They used to be great about responding years ago and i love their templates, easy to use and beautiful websites when they are working. I haven't switched to another site builder yet because im comfortable with using their platform and i dread the endless hours of building a new site. They will probably come on here and rebuttal everything i say but you will notice a pattern with every one of these reviews... HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RESPONSE TIME to every issue! I have paid their yearly hosting fee every year, and the last 3 years or so they shut my site down due to "non-payment" when its really their HORRIBLE bookkeeping skills! I paid it before the due date and they let it expire on their end. I have to email them EVERY TIME to tell them that i paid and to get my site back up and running asap... they sit on the 911 ticket for a couple days... check their records..., oh, she paid... ok, couple days later, lets turn her site back on... thanks... I even tried emailing them in advance last year to tell them i paid and to please make sure my site didn't go down! Didn't work... still went down. My site would be down for weeks before i noticed it! I wonder how many potential clients i have lost over the years due to their poor response time, they have taken weeks and days to respond to 911 tickets! They also don't tell me when my domain is going to expire so i can pay it, not that paying it would help them keep my site up... but they send me invoices after i bring it to their attention and take days upon days to get my site back up and running. If they aren't getting tickets and their customers aren't getting bills they supposedly have sent out then its time to upgrade your billing system and get on top things. You used to be great BluDomain years ago and there are still a couple good workers there but overall im super unhappy with their quality of service. As I write this there are bugs with my shopping cart so my clients cannot purchase anything until its fixed... lets see how many days or weeks my clients have wait before they get it fixed... its so not worth this headache, waste of my time and money. Do yourself a favor and take your money somewhere else.

I was a client of bludomain for 3 years and I didn't even realize how terrible it was until I started hosting with someone else. The template was really nice, easy to work with, limited in some ways but it seemed good to me. Until I needed help with things. Customer service was absolutely terrible, it would take days to get answers to my emails and even then they were vague answers.

Then the billing problems. Pricing is comparable with other hosting and domain registrars, nothing to gripe about there. Two years ago I stopped receiving invoices for my domain name. Lucky me right? Wrong.

A few weeks ago I moved my website to a new hosting provider. After a few requests to bludomain to let me transfer my service, they refused to let me. I was told I owed a fine for late payments. What in the world? I emailed back asking what for and they said they had decided not to send out yearly bills and to just do it every 4 years. They then said I had to pay for the years 2010 2011 2012 and 2013 all in one chunk right now or they wouldn't let me transfer my service. They held my website hostage to make me pay for services they never billed me for PLUS for future years I wasn't going to use! Just to be sure I read through my whole terms of use (it's on their site) and it says nothing about 4 year billing cycles.

I cannot stress it enough to stay away from them. The templates are terrible for SEO, they look very nice but are just not worth it. There are dozens of other places to go for hosting and a site, stay away from bludomain. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to plug another site but I've switched to hostgator and it's awesome. 24/7 live tech chat, it's so awesome. :)

Okay. I am not going to be dramatic... just as factual as i can.
Yes, beautiful websites & easy to program.
BUT! These are the glitches I have experienced:
In 2008 I set up my website. Customers could add items to their shopping basket but if they hit their back browser it would wipe it out. My customers were increasingly frustrated & therefore just started calling me directly to place an order. I was told "that is just what the template does". I told them it was a defect in the design. The way they "fixed" it was to but a special note informing customers not to hit their back browser. Sooo they had to go all the way back to the beginning if they wanted to buy another item. In 2009 when I was getting ready to renew Bludomain had a list of improvements. In that list was the Harlowe template shopping cart. I was NEVER notified of this improvement & only when I emailed them did they reset my template.

HOWEVER... before they reset my template, I had received 5 orders for which I received no notification. I had no idea I had these orders until the customer called to ask where they were. ADDITIONALLY, one customer placed 3 separate orders. The first item was $18. For every order after that she was charged $18 regardless of the actually cost of the item. I received a reply from customer service that didn't address my issues as I had described ( in complete detail)

Some claims were responded to, some were not... mostly because of all the "glitches".
In the end when I asked for a refund for my webhosting, I was told I had to submit yet another claim. They didin't apologize for all the problems or try to "save" me as a customer. I only assume that they can not stand behind their product & receive so many complaints that it is better for them to just throw their hands up.

Switching webhosting asap & taking all that free time i have to design a new website. Good times.

I feel like this review is going to be VERY redundant, as most of the other reviews express my sentiments almost to a T.

BluDomain is downright scaly. I cannot fathom how they are still in business. Don't let their beautiful website fool you. Once you are a customer they couldn't care less about you! They WILL NOT respond to messages. You cannot call them. You cannot email them. You need to send your inquiries through their website, and then proceed to ignore you.

Every. Single. Year they would shut my site down for non-payment... but they don't send invoices? How in the world is a customer supposed to pay for a service if they don't know where to send the payment or the amount due. I would message asking for an invoice (as SO MANY other reviewers have had to do!) and when they finally did respond the message back was insanely condescending stating that it must be my email provider who isn't delivering the messages. I checked my inbox and spam folders multiple times, there were no invoices.

Today I found out that my domain was SOLD and to get it back I will have to pay THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! I am a small business and I rely heavily on my website for business. BluDomain has basically shut me down. My inquiries have slowed to almost nothing. My website has been down since the beginning of June and it is now the middle of August. I have been BEGGING them since June to help me and they just absolutely won't.

The last message that I got from them simply stated "We don't have your domain name anymore"... One line. That was LITERALLY all they wrote. Of course you don't. You sold it!

BUYER BEWARE. I have done so much research in the past couple of months and there are SO MANY GOOD companies to host with... don't make the same mistake that I, and so many others, have made. Stay FAR FAR away from BluDomain and Aundrea Hasselbach, the registered owner. What a complete joke!

I have taken this issue to the BBB and Aundrea Hasselbach hasn't responded. She won't. Most of the BBB reviews have gone unresolved. The next step will be legal action.

Lacy, we're turning this over to our legal team for defamation, if you do not remove these these false allegations we will sue you for defamation. You forget to renew your domain name and lost it. We did not sell your domain name.

A long time ago (10 years?) when I was in Vegas for WPPI, I fell in love with Bludomain... They were a cute little company that was friendly and I promptly gave them my business and never strayed from them and I even told everyone I knew about them and they brought their business to them. In 2014 I decided I wanted to be lazy and take Bludomain up on their offer to be in charge of my domain, since I hosted with them already, I figured why not?! Everything else up until that point worked quite well. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! Ii got an email from a client saying my website was no longer up and that some asian hotel website was up in it's place. This was literally after paying Bludomain for my domain/hosting. INstead of contacting my credit card or even asking for a refund, all I wanted was reassurance from Bludomain that my information was still on their servers. Harald and Aundrea both dodged this question and eventually just stopped replying to me. I contacted them 6 months later and than a year later and in January 2016 heard nothing from either of them. So one day I decided to check and see if my website was still taken but nothing came up. Halleluiah! I contacted Bludomain to let them know my domain was available again and that I'd be willing to host with them, they told me to pay up and still didn't acknowledge what happened in 2014. They refused to apologize, they refused to take ownership and isntead belittled me into thinking the whole thing was my fault because I didn't pay. So I did a littel digging today to find out that another person still owns my domain and Bludomain wasn't able to purchase it but they were willing to take my money... they didn't even bother to find out if my domain was available to purchase. They still want my money but wont' help me. Does anyone other than Harald and Aundrea (CEO) work there? They need more employees because 1. I am sick of not communicating with them and 2. How can 2 people deal with this company's mess? No wonder they keep lying!

Tip for consumers:
Don't give Bludomain your domain purchasing power, they will take your money and not renew it.
