The people working in the Frederick store are great. The problem is Comenity bank. I purchased a bed that was supposed to interest free for 3 yrs. Immediately Comenity started charging me interest. 12 contacts later, the lady at Comenity said just because it was Buscovs rule (3 yrs free), it doesn't mean it is our rule. Comenity has a well deserved 1 *. Sadly I contacted the president of Buscovs and he couldn't be bothered to return any of several calls. I guess if it is a family business, they don't need to care. Or Comenity pays him so much on the side, why care. Don't finance w Comenity!
Spent $9.95 for 4-5 day shipping in online checkout. Package sat for a week with usps label generated for it until they handed it off to them. Customer service told me 7-10 days is normal even though checkout online said 4-5. Paid $9.95 and waited almost two weeks for delivery.
Boscov's has been holding my money hostage in my bank account for 3 days now with a $93.86 charge that is pending while I have not ordered /purchased anything from them online. I have called them numerous times, customer service acts like they're idiots and they have no clue what I'm talking about I was told that it would drop off within one or two days here it's going on the 4th day and it's still being held in my account. They're starting to make themselves look really bad. I have called my bank but there's nothing they can do because it's still pending. I feel that boscov's is holding my money hostage. Be very careful of their website I looked on the website and now I've been charged $93 just for looking.
I have made many purchases in the past but I will never again because of all this bull hockey.
On the back of the packing slip it is stated 'If you call us for assistance in placing the exchange order, we will gladly waive your standard shipping fee; Boscov's ships most exchange merchandise at no additional shipping cost."
Yeah right! Try getting through to talk to someone other than a clueless operator. The one time I managed to speak with someone, she seemed unqualified, and stated a total of $27.47. I answered "for exchanging an item?" She then proceeded to transfer me where I again waited and counted the cobwebs.
11 calls and numerous emails and still no resolution.
No more. Boscov's can go the way of other retailers who pay lip service to customer service.
Lesson learned.
I recently went to my local Boscov's and I saw Rudolph ornaments. The sign said $6.49 Rudolph ornaments. I grabbed 4 and went to check out along with a couple other things. The cashier rang out the ornaments and 3 of them rang up $18. I said that is not correct. I spent $71 when it should have been no less than $30-$40. If there were selective ones, then they all should not have been together on the display because I should have gotten them for the sale price.
Bought a piece of their luggage online. It came in a damaged box but that wasn't the problem. The luggage is too big to check. It's external measurements are greater that is allowed on most airlines. They advertised it as being 31" which would have worked but in the small print which I didn't see it says it's 32.5" which doesn't work. The airline may or may not let it be checked. I decided to return it but the shipping cost to return it is $85! I called and asked them to send me a shipping label and deduct it from my refund and they absolutely refused. They must train their customer service folks hard to be as heartless as they are. This is also after punching *******000 to by pass the AI that doesn't want you to speak to a human being. Now that I have read the reviews it all makes sense. If you are an online store and you are unwilling to work with customers about returns then you have no business being in business.
So I went in to grab 2 things and I went up to a register said excuse me r u open? No answer. I said sorry r u open and the lady snapped at me. Horrible attitude. Went to shoes and that lady was so polite. Absolutely rude and miserable
Was contemplating an online order...went to review the order but found a better price on a different site but was somehow still charged by Boscov's despite not actually submitting the order. Called customer service and they basically said that this is normal practices and I should expect my money back in 3-5 days. WTH? No other company in this country actually takes your money BEFORE submitting an order. Now, I'm forced to use MORE money to buy what I wanted from the other website. This is the shadiest experience I've had with an online retailer. I will NEVER attempt to order anything from this place...EVER AGAIN. Now I see why the customer experience ratings are so low.

Worst company to deal with
I was not sure if the Brookstone Massage chair would be ok after I read reviews. I was very concerned. I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. It came packaged perfectly and brand new in the box. Took it out and it works amazingly. I bought it for 99.99 plus tax. On the Brookstone website it was listed at 249 and Amazon was 300. So I took my chances and sometimes when it seems to good to be true it usually is. Not this time! I was truly Blessed! Thank you Boscovs! I will shop with you again in the future!
I had the pleasure of going into the Boscov's in Milford Connecticut. I had the pleasure of meeting two young people who took their job seriously. Demar and Felicia couldn't do enough to speed the line up, tell people where there were other registers open and made you feel like you were the only customer in the store. Their regular manager was not there, however the young man has management capabilities because I thought he was the manager. We always say when things are going bad but I would like to salute these two young folks for a superb job.
Tried to order doorbuster on line but couldn't. This is not fair to customers that can't get to a store. Customer service couldn't help me either. I have been a customer for a very long time and never had issues but I think this very unfair sales should be available to all customers
Purchased a bed frame and mattress. When the delivery guys opened the box the wood frame was cracked. Ok things happen. My complaint is customer service is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Since I already got rid of my old bed now I'm apparently sleeping on the floor until I can even talk to someone on Monday. Who knows from then how long it will take to get a new one. For someone with severe back and neck issues this is a major problem. They should not be delivering furniture when customer service is closed. No one in the store itself can help. Once they make the sale I guess they are done with you. I was a first time Boscov customer and will never purchase from them again.
I'm currently on my second "Estimated Delivery Date and expecting it to change again. My shipment is certainly enjoying a trip around the country. From NJ to PA to IL to KS to TN. I live in Arizona. I wonder how many more states my package will travel through before I get it. Now I understand why in only ordered once from them. Won't ever order from them again. I think Boscov's has an agreement with their shippers to take as long as they can to get it to the consumer.
Just began ordering from Boscov's and I'm in love! Merchandise is high quality, but the customer service and shipping takes the cake! Very fast from online order to delivery. Items are packed with utmost care! I love that this retailer so obviously cares for their customers that I will be back often! Thank you Boscov's!
They have a large number of items ranging from clothing to tools and everything in between available for purchase online. Their "Hot Buys" and other sales can be very good. Shipping costs are moderate and shipping times are quick.
Love Boscov's... I can always find something there and when on sale, their prices are not bad. But I prefer to shop on line and do either curbside pick up or delivery. It is difficult for me to shop in the store due to painful knees, I can't walk too far for too long. YOU CANNOT Purchase on line. You can get all the way to Make a Payment and then it just stops working! I have tried multiple times with different orders, and different browsers, at different times. 3 different computers and my phone... nothing works. First time, it finally worked with my phone after 5 days of trying, calling the customer service didn't help... a month or so later even using my phone doesn't work. There are better discounts on line sometimes, so I don't want to call over the phone... I want to purchase on line. I am sure they have lost a LOT of business due to this issue.
I stumbled on this site while looking for my brother's favorite shoes. I was sure after all the year's they probably didn't make that model any more of New Balance. Then I found Boscov's I was a little leery at first, but I thought he needed those shoes so badly that I'd try Boscov's anyway. Wow was I surprised they arrived quickly and wear band new and I don't mean brand new old stock (which has been sitting around for year's, I mean brand new. Sometimes when you buy tennis shoes on - line you getting new old stock and you can tell they don't hold up. My brother loves his shoes. Sick of the "Mart" store? Go to Boscov's. I am addicted to their curtain department! Huge selection! Cheap prices make it a winner! I am always surprised that the store is no mobbed! It has high-end and economy choices for everything! A big and tall shop for men that can't be beat! And did I mention the prices? Unbelievable. The only "department" that is not represented is hardware and tools. Furniture and mattresses, clothes and shoes. And did I mention curtains? GO THERE! You will not be disappointed! I am a retiree and my only regret is that they are not closer
I'm writing this review to warn other people about Boscovs shady practices. I've made a few purchases at Boscov's this year the first purchase came damaged and they agreed to refund some of the money and put it back in my account when I looked in my account the discount was not applied it was taken out of my account. One order that I place not only did it take forever to get here but they charged me the wrong price of course it benefited them. Then I look in my bank account almost 2 months later and Boscov charges me for a purchase I never made. I would say I'm happy with the product but the service is terrible.
