Diary and Journal software has one job, one important job - store information - for years. Unfortunately, Alpha Journal - a diary and journal software published by Cam Development - is more a problem in search of a solution - and there is none.
At some point Alpha Journal will stop working - and that's it. Cam Development, which sells Alpha Journal, out of someone's garage we suspect, will not be able to offer you a solution.
Used Alpha Journal for about a year - and it stopped working. Contacted Cam Development only to discover the cheese had slid off the cracker. The developer suggested that perhaps the Caps Lock key had been struck - and that was the sum of Alpha Journal's "technical support?" So, lost all that data.
Reinstalled Alpha Journal, created a new database, archived info for a few years and now it is inoperable again. Everything lost.
So, if you want to religiously store important facts, events and information on days of occurrence - only to lose all that stuff when Alpha Journal crashes - then by all means use Alpha Journal. If not - SKIP Alpha Journal. There are quite a few alternatives - Diarium, Glimpses, Journey, OneNote, Rednotebook (which is open source and free) etc.
