I'm not sure why this site has so many bad reviews. As a person who used to own a survey site, it's probably from people not following directions, or trying to use the card after they sold it. It worked perfectly for me, I sold two cards, a Macy's card that I got from swagbucks and a Victoria Secret card that I gave to a Tinder chick and took it back from her after I found out she got some more side dudes without asking me first. Got my check in about 5 biz days.
I bought gift cards for one merchant and they were electronic but took too long to get to me through e-mail (which should be almost instant)... the item I was trying to purchase went out of stock and then back off sale back to its original price which was double the amount. $300 instead of on sale for $150 when I bought the gift cards. I've been e-mailing for a month now and NO responses, not a single one! Then I purchased a gift card last week and still have not received it. Other sites I've used I get the gift card within 15 mins... this one I'm lucky if I get it at all and definitely no refunds whatsoever... don't waste your money even if they price for a bigger discount it's not worth losing a couple of hundred dollars or more. The screenshot shows their one automated response saying they will get back to me... but when? In a few years?
I was a long time customer but for this recent and BIG purchase I made. They screwed me up royally.
For the most part I made $2000 plus GC PURCHASE IN which included a Bloomingdales gift card, never opened until now when I went to the store and release that my $800 plus for a GC I PAID IS NOT even a valid card based on Bloomingdales support.
Now it has been 5 days and i am waiting for carpool support reply!
So pissed that I invested so much and they so not care
I just received 4 gift cards (significant $$$) via certified mail. I immediately checked the balances and ALL were "inactive or invalid" per the merchant's website. This would have made it IMPOSSIBLE for Cardpool to check the balances on the cards before sending them. Also, how could they have purchased them without the capability to check the balance? That's unconscionable! I emailed them, called and left a message and then immediately disputed the transaction with my CC company who reversed the charge (all the above was done within 1 hour of receiving the cards).
I normally would have given Cardpool the opportunity to resolve it and issue a credit but not for the amount of $$ I just paid them and their incredible lack of internal controls as described above.
Cardpool was 1 of the 2 best companies in the discount CC industry but their customer service has significantly deteriorated, inventory of cards is much more limited and I would no long longer do business with them.,,,, not worth the hassle.
I've ordered about 1000$ worth off cards this year from them this year and not one problem. Longest it took was a day and the fastest was five minutes. Odd to see such bad reviews.
I sent in a gift card, and when they checked the ballance, they couldn't confirm it, so they sent the card back. I double checked, and the card ballance was exactly what I told them. Whoever check it at Cardpool fatfingered the card number. What a waste of time.
I have used them for years and was always very happy. They have now turned into a total scam and just stolen everyone's money. I recently bought cards that have no balance available and also sold them cards and have not gotten paid. They are stealing everyone's money and not returning phone calls or responding to emails. They are surely about to shut down and we are out a ton of money.
DO NOT EVEN CHANCE IT USING CARDPOOL!
I ordered a digital gift card from this company in March 2019 for Red Lobster. It was to be used for my mother-in-law's birthday 2 days following the purchase. This being a digital gift card, I assumed I would receive the card within 24 hours. I didn't receive this card until almost a week later. Extremely disappointed.
So, as far as gift cards go, the value is good for the lifetime of the company unless otherwise stated. I attempted to use this card in July 2020, assuming the full value should have been available since it was never used at the time of purchase. When I checked the value of the card on the Red Lobster website, it shows the card invalid or account closed.
Now, I am aware that CardPool only guarantees the authenticity of the gift card for a year, but that does not mean the card should be invalid or account closed.
I have attempted to remedy this issue with Red Lobster relations in which they redirected me back to CardPool. CardPool refuses to fix the issue, continuing to state that they only guarantee gift cards for 1 year. They refuse to even check to see if there is a remaining value on the card.
I would recommend using Raise.com before ever purchasing from this company.
I send a card to them a week ago and they promised 24hr term around. A week later I contacted them and got a canned email that dispute their claims they were at least 2 weeks behind in opening mail because of "Christmas rush" hey guys it is the end of MARCH.
I think they are a scam and will be filing complaints with the BBB, California Attorney General's fraud office and the SF County Attorney's office. Beware!
I tried to buy a giftcard, entered all my information, checked out and got an email saying my giftcard was to come shortly.
Instead I got a phone call from Cardpool asking to "verify" my purchase by asking all of my personal information ALL over again!
This "verification" process is insane. First of all there is nothing online that says someone will be calling me in the middle of the work day to "verify" my order. I found it really intrusive and waste of my time.
Secondly, they already have all of my information which I filled out online. Calling the number I have used to "verify" my order is not going to help anything.
Unless there was something that didn't match up I don't agree with bothering the customer about their order. I also don't like giving out personal information over the phone, it could also very well be a scammer trying to get my information. There is no way for me to tell.
I shop online almost everyday and I think this is useless and terrible process. The lady I spoke to was nice but sounded young and inexperienced.
I purchased a $130 amount of Macy's e gift card. Their discount rate 10% was actually better than others. They informed that I would get an email had an e gift card number within 24 hours. This was my first experience to buy discounted cards. I noticed that a transaction was in pending on my bank account. My order was placed at 10 am, they gave me a call at 4:30 pm, that was to verify I am the account holder. Next day I tried to get them back, but my calls were forwarded to voice mails. I didn't hear them back, so I regretted and worried very much. I could finally reach to a customer service. She was very unfriendly, sounded like hating the job. She verified me with few questions. The transaction was cleared after the verification. Although I was impressed with that, they didn't prepared a decent customer support at all, super slow responses were so frustrating. I don't really think that I would be going back. I gave 2 stars, one was for the better discount rate and the other one was for the secured verification.
This is a purely scam website! I order electronic voucher gift card and never recieve one. Just got scam of $100.
Will suggest use raise! They are authentic sellers!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! WHAT IS WORSE THAN MAKING A PURCHASE AND NOT GETTING ANYTHING IN RETURN BUT A CHARGE ON YOUR CREDIT CARD?!? THE "24 HOURS" ADVERTISED FOR RECEIVING ONLINE GIFT CARDS IS TOTALLY FRAUDULENT. THEIR AUTOMATED EMAILED RESPONSES ARE STALLING TACTICS. THERE IS NO CONTACT NUMBER TO SPEAK WITH ANYONE. I HAVE BEEN FRAUDED- AS IT SEEMS SO MANY OTHERS--AND SO WILL YOU... LET'S BLOG BLOG BLOG UNTIL THEY ARE JAILED.
But, I recently have learned that this company whacks your e-mail account to death that "the card you are looking for is now back in stock". A few times, I have gone to look, and nothing there. So, since it was maybe a few hours later, I had decided to pay more attention because I don't need four e-mails in a row telling me that the CVS cards are now back in stock!
However, recently I have been on it like white on rice. Hit those links in a New York City second, and there is NEVER ANYTHING THERE. No gift cards that I want, EVER!
So please Cardpool... if ya ain't got the goods, stop spamming me. Sometimes, they're ok... but their inventory is low. Also, you should stop listing cards you don't have. VERY annoying to keep clicking through to find your no inventory alert. Consistently.
I would go to Raise personally. None of these gift card companies are fool proof. You're always going to have issues. Always. You'll need to be a smart consumer and watch their guarantees. Or you will lose your money somewhere along the way.
After submitting a few Starbucks egift card number and pin, I had received a phone call from their verification department the next day. The lady was asking me where did I get the card and how long I have been having those cards. When I told her I got the gift cards from my friends in Canada for special occasion, she started asking me, "what kind of special occasion?" with very fishy tone. I didn't feel comfortable to answer her question, so I asked her" does it matter if those for my birthday or holiday?" instead. All the sudden, she sounded all offended and hung up on me without saying bye or nothing...
The next day of course they rejected all my gift card without providing any reasons other than their "processing center encountered issue of processing my card..."
No customer service phone number was provided, so you always have to wait 24 hours to just get an email reply.
I have to say this is the WORST on-line service I have ever seen. Please STAY AWAY if you can. Just wasting your time and efforts!
I had good experience with them but not until this year. Sometime cards were delayed sometimes with zero balance(small amounts) but when I purchased 4 giftcards worth $500, I discovered that they are thief. Cards were emailed it to me after 10 weeks, after multiple inquiries on the status. I have attempted to to use one card shortly after I received it, and found out that the card had zero balance. I reached out to cardpool asked for replacement of one card or a partial refund, at that time other cards had balance on it, however I didn't use my other cards because I didn't know if cardpool would need to process a full refund on all cards or if they would process a partial refund (I was afraid that they would use that as an excuse and would deny a refund if other cards were used). They have not responded to multiple emails, they have not responded to calls. After 5 months of waiting I went back to check on the balance of my other cards, and found out that they had zero balance on it. Again reached out to Cardpool asking for a refund. Was told it was my problem. They clearly resold the same cards to other buyers. They are clearly known for this scam and that's how they're staying in business. Why are they still in business? Where are the authorities to close this shop?
I just posted a review at Trust pilot too... Cardpool insisted that the verification number is wrong, and had the nerve to tell me to update my review. Well here is the proof!
Sold my giftcard on 5/29/17. They said they sent me a check which i didnt receive. Send me another one and i still didnt get. What kind of company is this? All scammers! Bogus. And they took the money from my gift card. I wanted them to pay me jst a gift card afterall they are selling lots of giftcard. They said they cant do that... helllooo... someday i hope all of u will pay for scamming people..
Wonderful service! Couldn't believe how quick it was! Ordered on Tuesday & check sent that day. Received on Monday! Couldn't have been any easier! Will recommend to everyone!
I have tried to submit an order for a Cardpool giftcard since January and the representative either is ignorant about the website, or CARDPOOL does not intend to send my giftcards. I received a $150.00 gift coupon, and the order was comeyed for the total of $147.00, however, I still have not received any giftcards. The message I received was to try to place the order again, but the website will not permit the request as it says "GIFT CARD CODE ALREADY IN USE". The representative company havefor the been notified of this through phone calls, messages and letters... still no cards. Beware!
**** UPDATE: After a response finally received on Cardpool's Facebook page, they have provided me with links to view/print my cards. One had a zero balance on it, but they did refund my credit card for the amount I paid them. I believe they are trying to make things right and am so thankful for this.
I purchased $420.25 in Lowe's gift cards from them on 12/15/2018. They show these were shipped on my account, but I never received any of the 4 cards purchased. They will not answer emails or phone calls and did not respond to 2 BBB attempts to resolve my complaint. They seem to have no problem stealing people's hard-earned money, and this is not a company you want to deal with.
I urge everyone ripped off by them to file a complaint with your state's attorney general, the BBB, FBI, Federal Trade Commission, Ripoffreport.com, etc. This company needs to be shut down and a class action suit taken against them. Just discovered their FB page today indicating the company was sold in January 2019.
Tip for consumers:
Stay far, far away.

Did not use as they never sent the gift cards to me.
Buy discount gift cards or sell the ones you won't use. This site can save you a lot of money if you put most of your expenses on these cards. I love it!
My story. I had a Target Gift Card with a verified amount of 125.00. I wished to exchange it for an Amazon E-Gift card at a lower exchange. The website accepted the Card's information and the FAQ stated I would receive my E-Card within 2 business days during peak holiday season. Four days later they still had not processed our transaction and when emailing support, they took another two days to finally respond.
Their response was vague and without merit. They claimed that due to "Risk Assessment" they would not be processing my request. They provided no details and anyone with common sense knows that this response was due to my reaching out to support over the excessive time delay in processing our transaction.
I would not recommend anyone using Cardpool. They don't contact customers when there's an issue and refuse service if you contact them to inquire about the transaction. I will be sharing this story with the BBB as well. BTW. Many, many complaints filed with the BBB over this and other shady practices they indulge in. Safeway and Blackhawk should be ashamed themselves. Cesspool would be a more fitting name for this company.
I've attached their discriminatory response from a McJob CSR named Lindsay after 4 business days AND after I emailed support about the 2 day turnaround time they failed to meet on their own FAQ page.
Tip for consumers:
Go in expecting dissapointment and a run around. They WILL meet those expectations!

Avoid this company like the plague. They have some of the worst business ethics and customer service of any new startup.
I placed an order on the 8/27/14, and they charged my credit card. I patiently waited for them to physically mail me a sheet of paper that had my gift card information (why they can't just send it electronically to save time is mind-boggling).
After about a week of waiting, I check my order history and find that nothing is there. Then, I received a refund on my credit card for the amount of the order. All of this without any notification or warning. Complete radio silence over the entire experience, leaving me waiting for over 2 weeks total for what I thought I had purchased.
This happened to me twice consecutively, and after this last time, I don't even want to waste anymore of my time or money on this company. Cardpool is a joke, go use Plastic Jungle or any other gift card exchange. It wouldn't take much for it to be an improvement over this establishment of neanderthals.
Tip for consumers:
Use another gift card exchange, you'll save yourself time, money, and hassles.
I traded 2 gift cards in March 2017 and the process was very quick and seamless. Cardpool sent Amazon gift cards within 24 hours. Would definitely recommend them!
I love buying gift cards from card pool, save lots of $$$$. The only downside is the cards look used of course but if they are for you to save $$ definitely worth buys! Love it
