I'm not sure why this site has so many bad reviews. As a person who used to own a survey site, it's probably from people not following directions, or trying to use the card after they sold it. It worked perfectly for me, I sold two cards, a Macy's card that I got from swagbucks and a Victoria Secret card that I gave to a Tinder chick and took it back from her after I found out she got some more side dudes without asking me first. Got my check in about 5 biz days.
I bought gift cards for one merchant and they were electronic but took too long to get to me through e-mail (which should be almost instant)... the item I was trying to purchase went out of stock and then back off sale back to its original price which was double the amount. $300 instead of on sale for $150 when I bought the gift cards. I've been e-mailing for a month now and NO responses, not a single one! Then I purchased a gift card last week and still have not received it. Other sites I've used I get the gift card within 15 mins... this one I'm lucky if I get it at all and definitely no refunds whatsoever... don't waste your money even if they price for a bigger discount it's not worth losing a couple of hundred dollars or more. The screenshot shows their one automated response saying they will get back to me... but when? In a few years?
I sent them my cards which was delivered to them on wednesday, they sent me an e-mail the same day with my amazon.com gift card code the same day. Excellent service, problem free transaction.
Thieves! Provided a brand new card I received as a gift and never use. They said the balance was $0. I sent emails and they never responded. Do not do business with these people.
They take forever to send the certificate, if ever. They do not have a customer service number... only a voicemail that they don't check. You can email and wait to see if anyone responds. Stay away.
I purchased a $50.00 gift card for PF Changs from Cardpool.com. When I went to use the card, the balance of the gift card was $. 23, and I was handed proof that the gift card was used a year prior in a Sunnyvale, CA. I have never been to Sunnyvale, CA. And I am one hundred percent certain I have not used the card. I was using the card at PF Changs to treat my sister to lunch. It was embarrassing and I was fortunate to have another method of payment. When I tried both by email and phone to reach Cardpool.com, they did not have the courtesy to call me back. I AM PRETTY SURE THIS WAS EMPLOYEE FRAUD, WHICH THIS COMPANY IS AWARE OF. DO NOT PURCHASE OR SELL YOUR GIFT CARDS HERE!
After selling CardPool my unwanted Zara Gift card, I received an email letting me know that the transaction was successful and that it may take up to 3 days for the promised Amazon Gift Card to be received via email. After day 3, I sent an email. Then I sent another email on day 4. And another on business day number 5. NOTHING. NO RESPONSE. NO CONCERN. NO EXISTING CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. My Zara Gift Card was taken by CardPool and nothing was given in return. THAT'S THEFT. I will be reporting them to the BBB.
I have written time and again since I lost 41.45 on a Cracker Barrel gift card I purchased from them. They will not respond at all! I hate this company and will not order from them again!
I sent my $50 gift card to cardpool and requested a check that was supposed to arrive within 3-7 days. After 1 month, I contacted them because I hadn't received it, and they tried to claim that I had already cashed it. DO NOT USE CARDPOOL THEY ARE SCAMMERS!
I attempted selling them my giftcard. They took the money out of the card and I never received payment. I contacted the BBB. Don't use this place. It is a scam.
I have ordered physical cards numerous times from them and great experiences.
So Lowes had a sale for Veterans day, limited time, and the stove and dishwasher I had my eye on for monts were on a great sale so I ordered enough ELECTRONIC CARDS to pay for the stove. 5 cards and 2 of the codes are invalid!
The sale ends tomorrow and since Cardpool does not think enough of their customers to have a direct phone line I am stuck with about $500 in useless Electronic ( good for online orders only)Of which $225 is invalid!
Big deral I saved 7% via cardpool. I could have saved 6% of ebates and been done with it all now. I also lose out on a rebate offer on the appliances to the tune of $50(had to buy 2 appliancesfor the rebate) Cardpool electronic cards SUCK!
Sent in three gift cards and get this email below:
We received your mail for this transaction, but unfortunately the
Envelope was badly damaged and one of the gift cards was no longer
Inside. It looks like the envelope was torn in transit and the 4773
Gift card had fallen out.
Regrettably, we cannot pay for gift cards that we haven't received,
But we will issue you the adjusted payment for the other cards in your
Transaction. We apologize for the inconvenience; we wish we had more
Control over how mail gets handled! However, if you still have the
Receipt for the gift card or the card information, you may be able to
Contact the merchant to request that they cancel the previous card and
Issue you a new one. If you have any further questions or concerns,
Please feel free to contact us anytime at *******@cardpool.com.
I have emailed them three times to contact me about this issue either by email or phone and have not heard a thing back and still have not seen my check for the two gift cards they received. They have no phone number to call them. A picture of the damaged envelope emailed to me for proff would have been nice. Will never deal with this company again.
I would not recommend them at all, I sold them 1 $50.00 Steak House Gift Card, they sent me postage and I took to post office and mailed on December 14th. They keep telling me they never got. I don't believe them, after reading about them, I believe they are a scam. DON'T USE THEM OR YOUR'LL GET TAKEN.
On 7/25 I purchased four gift cards from Cardpool. 3 were electronic and 1 was plastic.
WEEKS have gone by and I NEVER RECEIVED MY GIFT CARD FROM THEM!
Of the other three electronic cards, I got to the register of the store and was EMBARRASSED and HUMILIATED because TWO of them had a ZERO BALANCE.
Do you know what it is like to stand there and have everyone in the store listen to the cashier tell you that you were DECLINED.
TWICE.
So to repeat, FOUR cards were purchased and THREE were a SCAM. I have NO idea how they stay in business.
RIPOFF
I tried 3 different times to sell my macys cards at kiosk. You go thrpugh the whole process only to NEVER get the 6 digit code for your money. $#*!in joke. Go anywhere else but there. Scammers
I had a $250 Macy's Gift card that i wanted to sell and get some money for, so I saw that cardpool had the highest rating out of all the sites to sell gift cards on. They offered me $207.50 for it, which I was willing to take.
I printed out the prepaid label, shipped out the card, and then waited. And waited. And waited some more.
After a week in a half of hearing nothing at all, I was worrying that my card was lost. I emailed them and they said that it was due to "Heavy traffic" that they hadn't gotten to my gift card yet in terms of processing it.
And yet, I waited almost another 2 weeks... and then FINALLY, I got a confirmation that they were sending out my check. I got the check and cashed it with no issues.
So in the end, I didn't get ripped off, but I was definitely worried a good majority of the time while this whole thing took place. So in my opinion, Cardpool isn't bad (for me anyway), but after waiting as long as I did, I'm not sure I want to do business with them anymore.
VERY questionable business we've got here... they make it sound like they're going to provide you with a shipping label to ship them your gift cards (which they do), but it's not until AFTER you give them the gift card numbers + pin numbers that you find out their shipping label includes NO tracking number. You really think I'm going to send you a GC worth hundreds of dollars without tracking? In addition, the label is designed to go on a standard letter envelope. As someone who ships extensively with USPS, I know that rigid objects are NOT supposed to be sent in letter envelopes because the sorting machine can and will chew it up--causing it to become undeliverable and/or lost. There is no way they don't know this. I can't imagine how many peoples cards have gone missing as a result. I am incredibly wary of their business at this point, which is ridiculous because it would be SO EASY for them to simply provide proper shipping labels that include tracking in order to calm their customers nerves.
Sent me a card that didn't work, returned it, and now they say they never got it. Never again! I'll be initiating a chargeback on my credit card. I'm out $40 plus dollars.
I sent a Macy's gift card worth 100 dollars and they said they would give me $80 I just put my card in an envelope with the card and my information on it and mailed it I was really skeptical about it and all the reviews I have read were very negative and bad but I sent the card in and didn't hear anything I emailed them a couple times and they said they have not received my card and that it may take some time depending on how it was mailed I honestly was not expecting to receive a check from them but to my surprise 2 months yes 2 months after I mailed the card I received a check in the mail from cardpool for $80 just as they said yes it took a long time but they did in fact mail me the check they promised so I dont know I probably wouldn't use them again but i did sell my card and did receive the $80 so I guess its up to you good luck
After reading other reviews, I was very nervous about using this service. I was anxious about mailing my gift card with no guarantee I would get it or my money back. I tracked my envelope and followed the process and everything worked out. Phew! The reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is that Cardpool gave me quotes on two gift cards and then wouldn't buy the 2nd one. I wasn't surprised because the 2nd one had an expiration date, but Cardpool did not ask or disclose this exception at the beginning of the process, which is one of the reasons I decided to use them. Cardpool was VERY good about communicating with me via email. Right away, I asked them not to send me both cards back. I asked them to buy the 1st card and mail back the unusable card. They did. I got my check a couple of days ago and all is well. I don't usually write reviews (maybe that's obvious from this one), but I wanted to reassure anyone else out there that Cardpool worked for me as advertised (minus the expiration date glitch).
I have a bunch of gift cards to sell and "listed" them on carpool.com. For a start they took over 2 weeks to appear in search results. I had to email "support" numerous times until the cards actually showed up in the search. Yesterday I received an email stating that my one of gift cards had been sold and then today it appears that the sale "did not go through" and my card has been re-listed. WTF? Also carpool.com add 10% onto the sale price that you would like to receive. It turns out that the final sale price of each card is discounted 6.4% rather than the 15% discount that I wanted to list it for (to entice a quick sale). There is no where on the website (from what I can find) that states that they add 10% onto your wanted price. I emailed "support" to query the % cut that they take from the final sale price and "Alexi" did not answer my question. If I had a dollar for every time I had email "support" I would already have acquired the amount of money that I am listing my card for ($85). I know that they have to make money on each transaction but they are not transparent about the fact that they add on 10% to your list price. Anyway, I am removing my cards for sale from awful awful this site. Awful customer service. Avoid at all costs!
DONT DO BUSINESS WITH CARDPOOL! I "sold" my $100 REI gift card to cardpool.com for $92 on June 23,2017, after which they sent me an email saying - "We'd like to inform you that your $100.00 REI card has been emailed to the buyer! Once the buyer verifies they've received the card, we'll be sending the Amazon gift card your way! This can take up to 10-14 days to arrive." After 2 weeks I still had not received my Amazon gift card as compensation for selling my REI gift card so I emailed cardpool support, telling them it had been 2 weeks. 2 days later they responded with the following message - "We'd like to inform you that your $100.00 REI card has been emailed to the buyer! Once the buyer verifies they've received the card, we'll be sending the Amazon gift card your way! This can take up to 10-14 days to arrive." I emailed support again telling them it had already been 2 weeks and their response was exactly the same as the initial email they sent me when I sold my gift card. It has now been 20 days and I have not heard back from cardpool support nor have I received my compensation.
As a first time user, I purchased $740.00 worth of electronic REI gift cards for $685.00 (8% discount plus a $5 first time user promo). I wondered if the cards would be legitimate, if they would have their full value, and if they would be accepted at REI.
I purchased the cards at 7:55 PM ET on a Friday (4:55 PM PT).
The site said that, as a new user, I may need to wait one "business" day before my order was processed. It wasn't clear to me if Saturday was considered a business day or not, so on Saturday I sent support an email.
Cardpool support responded within an hour and stated "business hours [are] from 9:00 AM-5:30 PM Monday - Friday PST." They also asked that I "bear in mind that all orders that our processing agents are not able to get to by the end of business hour or submitted after business hours or over the weekend are not process until the next business day."
Surprisingly, a that same Saturday, I received an email with links to my electronic gift cards. The links took an extraordinarily long time to open but each seemed to generate a card number and PIN.
I took the card numbers straight to the REI website and submitted an order. All the cards worked so I am a happy customer.
The only suggestion I would have is that cardpool clarify the turnaround time. In today's world of immediate satisfaction, I would have expected to get the electronic cards quickly. If they cannot do that, then clearer expectations should be set with business hours posted on the website.
Having been through the process once, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
So I offered a Walmart gift card in the amount of $160.97. They said I could receive $153.09. Ok great start. I gave them my PayPal card # and not my bankcard just to be on the safe side as I had a zero balance in PayPal anyway.
So, I receive an email after 2 days (my card was an egift card and I was expecting an egift card in return within 24 hours as they say they do) saying thank you for you business. Well ok, but I had not received my egift Amazon card voucher. So I'm start thinking, wtf? I go online and I almost always check a company's reputation. OH BOY! I found so many negative, 1 star comments I was taken aback. The only reason I didn't check was because my 17 year old son had told me that it was a good site and to use it. Needless to say, I went back to the CardPool website, was able to cancel the transaction and bought my equipment from WalMart at a little more of a price than if I had got it through Amazon. Luckily, all my money was still on my card and I immediately bought my items. Also, why should they need a credit card at all? All they need to do is check to see if the card you are exchanging has the funds it was said to have. Then, they immediately email me my Amazon card. Voila, done!
There are too many scams and crooks out there these days. I will be checking EVERYTHING as far as business reviews, rating, etc and not fall for an almost outright steal of my egift card. And thank you to all of the other posters here who told their stories and I'm so sorry for some of you who lost out.
ALWAYS, ALWAYS Google the company, people as much as possible to get the real deal. Blessings.
Cancelled my order and would not tell me why. I contacted them for more information but they said they would not give any further information. I wouldn't trust them.
