I'm not sure why this site has so many bad reviews. As a person who used to own a survey site, it's probably from people not following directions, or trying to use the card after they sold it. It worked perfectly for me, I sold two cards, a Macy's card that I got from swagbucks and a Victoria Secret card that I gave to a Tinder chick and took it back from her after I found out she got some more side dudes without asking me first. Got my check in about 5 biz days.
I bought gift cards for one merchant and they were electronic but took too long to get to me through e-mail (which should be almost instant)... the item I was trying to purchase went out of stock and then back off sale back to its original price which was double the amount. $300 instead of on sale for $150 when I bought the gift cards. I've been e-mailing for a month now and NO responses, not a single one! Then I purchased a gift card last week and still have not received it. Other sites I've used I get the gift card within 15 mins... this one I'm lucky if I get it at all and definitely no refunds whatsoever... don't waste your money even if they price for a bigger discount it's not worth losing a couple of hundred dollars or more. The screenshot shows their one automated response saying they will get back to me... but when? In a few years?
I ordered Lowe's electronic gift card, but they send paper... and says: you ordered Walmart paper gift card and we send it. The normal service?
It's been two weeks since I sent in my gift card... Nothing back so far this site is a god damn scam
Customer service is nonexistent. It takes forever for them to review your transaction if you sell gift cards on their website.
Had two Bloomingdale cards valued each for fifty dollars, I entered my gift card numbers and requested a check for payment. Cardpool requested that I send in the cards by mail and promised upon receipt to issue payment of $82. Fast forward a week later, I receive the below email from cardpool:
We recently received your mail, but noticed that the gift cards foryour transaction was missing from the package. It looks like theenvelope was damaged in transit and we only received the shippinglabel at our processing center, which must have detached from theenvelope with your gift cards. Regrettably, we cannot offer paymentfor gift cards that we don't receive. However, if you still have the rceipt for the gift cards, you may be able to contact the merchant torequest that they cancel the previous cards and issue you a new one.If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel welcome tocontact us at *******@cardpool.com anytime.
I couldn't fine a phone number to call them directly, so I sent an email to support - its been a week, no response. I can't believe I was duped I should have known better. I hope this helps someone, please stay away from this company and just use your gift card.
I sent them a gift card for redemption but they never sent me the money.
They are thiefs, stay away.
I tried to order a $200 and $25 Egift card. I accidentally put a physical $25 card in my cart. I emailed to ask them to switch the physical card for an Egift card. They simply cancelled the $25 physical card portion of my order and instructed me to reorder it which I did. It STILL took 2 days to receive the $25 Egift card but NO $200 Egift card which was ordered first.
You can't call and speak to anyone in person. You have to send an email or leave a message and you won't hear back from them for another day and if you miss a call, then you have to call back and leave another message and wait another day for a response.
They emailed and told me I needed to verify information through a phone call before they could send my $200 card even though they had already sent the $25 card. So I played phone and email tag for a couple days and finally talked to someone and verify idiotic things like the phone number on the back of my card and the nearest crossroads to my address. What kind of crap is this?
Six days later and I still have not received my ELECTRONIC gift card! I emailed them to cancel the order but I suspect they will now get struck by a bolt of lightening and magically send the card and charge my account. I even checked into blocking them from charges but Cardpool uses multiple billing addresses so even if you block one, they can bill you using another merchant address. That's shady at best.
On a side note, I ordered my electronic gift card from Raise, which I had used once before, and I got my gift cards almost immediately. Even though the discount wasn't as much, it's worth it not to have to wait a week to receive an email with your purchase.
Why would it take any more than 30 minutes to receive an electronic gift card? Do NOT waste your time dealing with Cardpool.
I submitted a $100 gift card over a month ago. A month a half to be exact. After about a week without receiving it in the mail I contacted their support team and they said it had bee sent out and I should receive it soon but it an take up to a month in the mail. They said if I still didn't have it in three weeks they would cancel it and send a new one. After three weeks had passed I contacted them again and this time they said that my check had been cashed already and the day they told me it had been cashed was a day before I contacted them the first time and they told me it was in the mail. Why wouldn't they have told me the first time that it had already been cashed? Then they proceeded to say they could help me and asked for my full name and address again. After giving them everything they had asked for they just responded and said "That is the name and address the check was sent to, Thank you". I have a feeling a check was never sent and this is there way of stealing gift cards from people. This whole time I was never given a actually email to contact I just had to keep emailing the support email and I would get the same auto-generated response and then about 2 days later they would actually respond. Also they have no available phone number. What company doesn't have a phone number to call? I would advise not to use this company. You cant even write a review on their website unless they send you a link to write one after you use their service. Of course they didn't send me a link because they don't want others to see that they scam people and their website is a set up. I have plenty of photos emails back and forth of this company trying to act like they are the good guy and actually sent a check. They say they can't see who cashed it but I know that is false. They never sent a check that is why they wont help me because the company is a scam.
Don't work with this company unless you have lots of free time to try to get them to do right., Lots of extra money you'll need as well. NEVER AGAIN
I had received a bonus from my workplace in the form of points redeemable for items or gift cards. Given I would prefer cash, and the items were vastly overpriced, I planned ahead for picking gift cards to sell for cash. At first on CardPool, they made it seem simple, I only needed to provide minimal information and they "instantly" cash out your gift cards. I then went through the laborious process of entering all the gift card numbers, double checking each one. It got tedious really fast but I prevailed. On the next step, I had to provide additional information, like my shipping address, even though I wasn't receiving anything in the mail. Then, they needed my credit card information for "verification" even though I wasn't buying anything. This was getting out of hand fast. Well, I had already gone through the work so whatever. Entered that information and submitted. A day later I received an e-mail saying one of my gift card numbers were incorrect. I immediately responded with the corrected information and was told I would be receiving an e-mail within one business day with my e-gift card from amazon.
So I waited two days and sent them another e-mail asking what the hold-up was. They then responded saying they tried calling me on my phone (I didn't recall providing my phone) but it was disconnected, and the transaction was canceled. I asked them about them sending an e-mail to which they replied they "sometimes call for verification" (which they never stated anywhere plainly) and that they left a voicemail (I thought it was disconnected). So that transaction was canceled and I had no recourse or correction to this issue.
I decide to start from square one and enter the cards once again, triple checking all the numbers. A day later they claim a "risk assessment team" canceled my card and would not provide details.
All this work for nothing and no explanation, yet they *STILL* have numerous complaints of fraudulent gift cards as clearly seen in reviews. This was a complete waste of time and I'm now holding on to a bunch of gift cards I have no use for.
FRAUDULENT SITE. Promised delivery of my electronic gift cards within a day. Never got them and customer service hasn't responded in over a week!
Not happy, bought a $25 cvs card. Only able to use $14.28 of it. Called numerous times and emailed no response. It's 2 weeks now. *******@ail.com
I am fully disappointed with CARDPOOL and the way they conduct business!
I base this on the following issues I had with them.
SLOW TRANSACTION PROCESSING
My first transaction was for a e-gift card and it took days to get delivered.
This is not standard practice for an e-transaction - they are usually immediate.
The idea that you need to wait 3 business days to get an e-giftcard is ridiculous and goes against an online business model.
IF YOU CAN NOT DELIVER BLAME THE CUSTOMER
So for my 2nd transaction I thought I would buy in advance (days before I would need the cards) and buy in bulk (2 gift cards) - and my order was cancelled due to a bogus 'risk assessment'. I contend that you did not have the inventory you listed on your website - and rather then fess up to your inventory issues - you cancelled the order and blamed it on me.
CANCEL ORDER AND DO NOT NOTIFY CUSTOMER
I never received an email notifying me that the order was cancelled. I discovered that my order was cancelled after not hearing from Cardpool for 2 days. I had to logon to my account and discovered that the transaction was cancelled.
I then had to email them to see what the issue was - and they gave me the excuse that 'risk assessment' cancelled the order.
There was no explanation of what the 'risk assessment' issue was.
I am not a 'risk assessment' in any way shape or form.
I purchase items online weekly and never have any issues.
ZERO CUSTOMER FEED BACK
I reached out to CARDPOOL to see what the 'risk assessment' was and try to work out the issue - and got zero response.
HEY YOU FXKING ASSHLLS! $#*!ING UPDAYE YOUR FUXKING $#*!, YOU $#*!BAGS! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT YOUR LOCATIONS IS ACCURATE. WHICH I GUESS IS GOOD CAUSE YOURE JUST A $#*!ING STEALNG CREDIT CARD SCAM ANYWAY! $#*!KKIKKKKKK YOUUUUU
This past june my mom asked me if i wanted to throw in on my stepfathers fathers day gift i said sure but i wanted to offer up a way for everyone involved with the gift to save so i referred her to cardpool at first she didnt like it because there was no phone number to call to speak with anyone so she found a differen giftcard company, come to find out she did end up using cardpool after all and she told me she had not received her $5 credit, i said wait if you get 5 im suppose to get 5, i said you did use my referral link right? She assured me she did, i emailed cardpool about the credit several times and the first response was like the lady was trying to play dumb about, the 2nd email i had to spell it out for her, etc etc, whatever, 3rd i had to send info about my moms referal link info and etc, then the last was them saying basically my mother lied to me and im out of luck.
Im pi*sed nowe i use to love this company genuinely but now i dont, im going to remove all of my referal links off my social media accounts post warnings about cardpool, then im going to request the FTC and BBB to investigate cardpool and then im going to close my account
Cardpool you have messed with the wrong little guy and my mother is not a liar
Tip for consumers:
beware!
IT HAS BEEN A TERRIBLE PROCESS, TRYING TO SUBMIT MY REQUEST ON YOUR SITE. JANUARY,, I HAVE TRIED SINCE JANUARY. 10 MONTHS!
Cardpool sold me a gift card for Dillards on Oct 29,2018 (Order #*******). They charged me $85. There was supposed to be $100 in that card. On Jan 1st, 2019, I tried to use that card online. It turns out that the balance of the card is zero. They sold me a gift card that has zero balance and charged me $85 for that. Essentially, they stole my $85. I emailed them on Jan 1st and I tried to call them. They will never respond to my emails or calls. I left them 7 voicemails and 14 emails so far over the last 13 days and there's still no response. I once had a similar issue with another gift card seller, called (Raise) and they issued me refund instantly, they never ignored my calls and emails. But Cardpool scammed me. I have been waiting for 13 days for an answer from CardPool and there's nothing. They stole my money and they never respond to me. I also already filed a complaint with BBB and CFBP against them. They never responded to BBB/CFBP. Cardpool will never answer my phone call. Cardpool will never respond to my emails. My voicemails will go to trash. Adam Hazim *******440 *******@ymail.com
$50 cards only had $10 left on them. No number to call to get refund, only VERY SLOW email system. Use this site with EXTREME CAUTION,
I started this process on the 21st of Jan. They kept in contact via email of the status but they give you the impression of a much smoother process. I get a call from weird number but I didn't answer. A few minutes later I get an email saying they tried to contact me to verify some information. When I called the number they asked me questions like I was under interrogation or something like what the heck for a 77 dollar check? I could have sold my gift card locally without the hassle and a little less percentage. This is the ultimate head ache. So I'm waiting on a check from Pleasanton which I live in California it says 3-7 business days. Um... really and I'm in California as well. That's snail mail for sure. I asked the rep over the phone is this the process if I chose to sell gift cards regualarly? And she replied probably so. But the part that really frustrated me is she couldn't give me the information moving forward. She said I would get an email. And so the next day I got an email saying a check was mailed. Once again that was on the 2nd of feb. 2017 so 3 weeks for a 77.25 checks is ridiculous. Not to mention ive entered other cards on the site to see pay amounts and they ask for pin all to tell me they cant process certain cards. Well ive already ruined it by stratching off the back because I cant sell it locally with the been not being covered. I'm so happy I didn't send all my giftcards at once. No where along the simply process they tell you that your going to have to talk to someone and wait and wait and wait well whats the purpose of tying your bank account to the site if you lstill have to go thru hell and hot water to get what your asking for?
I journied to hell and back again! Due to a death in my boyfriend's family one of the things we landed up with was an electronic gift card with no PIN on it, but it had a balance of over 30 dollars so he said yes he wanted it with thoughts of going through an exchange for an Amazon Gift Card. He was busy so I got the duty of dealing with exchanging it. I found Gift Card Granny and liked it so went through their cardpool option. On the site there was a question asking if the card had a PIN. I said no and indicated it was electronic when that option came along. One of the matches was Card Pool which looked good so I decided to give it a try. First, I was asked where the pin was, so we contacted the executor who couldn't find it either. They then called to ask several other questions to verify it and after answering those I was to receive an email from their support on the missing PIN. After dealing with it, I then receied another call the next day. Support was to also have sent an email about the missing PIN and it too never came. They finally forwarded their copy and I was told that since I had a photo of the initial email for the electronic card, it would suffice so I attached it. I then got another email today saying they still couldn't verify the balance- I had done so at Cracker Barrel.Com itself and had also suggested that the Card Pool people I was dealing with do their verification of the balance there. It all landed up being a 4 day trip through Card Pool hell and back again and in the end they cancelled the transaction. Plus they left me feeling like I was dealing with people who were sooo thick headed enough they couldn't understand a thing even if it were written out for them in black and white with the individual doing the explaining standing there in front of them!
Sold a Target giftcard and recieved my check in less than 10 days, no problem. I am in California.
Sells merchandise credit as a gift card. Merchandise credit is NOT the same as a gift card. I bought a GIFT CARD so I should have received one!
Recently I received two gift cards for Home Depot (Great Store). One card was for $1000. 00, and the other was for $200.00. I decided to sell them. Not having sold gift cards in the past, I foolishly looked up a company and contacted them.
IT WAS CARDPOOL.
They were very nice and helpful, taking the card numbers, my credit card number, and my address, they told me that there was no need to send the cards. Put them, they advised, in a safe place, promising to mail me a $900.00 check the day after they confirm balance on cards.
Indeed, on the 8th of June, I received an email from Cardpool's Support Dept that informed me that my $900.00 was on it's way ("The check's in the mail").
However, something in that missive concerned me: a small fine print notation that said if the check gets lost they will send another in three weeks. I remember thinking that it was a strange thing to add.
Several days later, having still not received my money, I checked the card's balances. You guessed it. MONEY GONE GONE GONE.
Today is June 20th and you guessed it: NO CHECK.
Once you begin a transaction with Cardpool, they, allegedly, move the acct to a different department. Now you can speak to nobody, only able to attempt contact through email. It appears that this is part of the scam, keeping you in the dark and off their proverbial back. I'm convinced that, although emails are always attributed to a different person, there are only a few people working there. Their emails are always form, each saying the same thing, which is essentially: check's in the mail.
This is an operation of crooks. I have been assured that they will not be in business much longer. I have seen and read dozens, a couple hundred, of stories that mirror mine.
STAY AWAY FROM CARDPOOL. They also sell cards, many of which are worthless. Of course this is generally not discovered by the consumer until to late.
WARNING WARNING WARNING... TO PREVENT BEING ROBBED, AVOID CARDPOOL!
Sold my cards online this past Saturday. Had my check from them weds. Very easy process.
