Not only is this a legitimate petition site, but you earn credits for signing certain petitions, and you can redeem those credits for things such as "providing a shelter dog with a toy", "a day of safe drinking water for a child", or "raise a farm animal humanely" and much more. Care2 is a nonprofit and legitimate petition site, so I don't know why people are downing it without even knowing their facts.
I have always been more than happy to be asked to sign petitions supporting animal conservation, environmental and health issues inter alia but now find the regularly increasing trend towards openly critical political issues is becoming intolerable.

Saw and signed one petition with which I agreed with. Then the spam began. Nothing but petitions for leftist and anti American causes.
Like others who have reviewed this site today I received a request to sign a pro impeachment petition for removal of President Trump. There are a lot of people in Washington D. C. who need to go, and the president is not one of those.
I removed my email from their site.
Care2 action is nothing more than a scam to spread misinformation... a far left organization conjuring up hate toward the Republican party and of course, make money while doing it. It is NOT a legitimate petition.
I have been a member of this fantastic site for more than a decade. It allows personal email service for communication, click to donate for wonderful charities, petitions ready to sign and setup, along with topical news stories. Just for using this marvelous site, you receive credits that can be redeemed for the causes most dear to you. Consequently, it is a site that keeps on giving!
The lowest kind of website, they use all forms of animal abuse and torture to draw in people to "sign and get justice for dog/cat/puppy/kitten killed or maimed" they post horrific images demanding justice that can never become reality.
They do it for the ad clicks, traffic to website and they make s fortune on this type of misery and count on high emotions. All petition sites are the same. Do yourself a favor and skip these types of websites.
I signed a law petition and received the confirmation, thank you email for that one but also another email thanking me for signing the petition to impeach Trump, which I had never signed. Regardless of anyone's political views, it is unethical to be authorizing our electronic signatures on petitions we never authorized signage for. I have emailed Care2 to remove my signature on that petition.
Despite some of the comments below, care2.com is indeed a great site. From living healthier to green living, to promoting causes out there, this site is a great source of information, while at the same time, giving you an opportunity to make a difference.
Because it is heavily slanted towards global warming, human rights, civil rights, etc., there is a pretty good chance that you are not going to like them if you are an ultra right-wing person. It is a site that is abashedly and openly towards the left. Most people who make negative comments will find themselves on the other side.
So I usually sign quite a bit of their petitions on care 2 through their fb page. Then I got to thinking when one showed up again that I signed last year, how come there is never any updates on how the petition has impacted that cause. I opened it up and saw they got all the signatures needed. So I fb msgd them and all they kept doing was asking me to sign petitions or that they couldn't understand me. I'm thinking they just want peoples information to sell
Care2 forums are full of nasty trolls. I thought if any site would be more intelligent, mature, compassionate and caring as well as civil towards one another, it would be Care2. The trolls there seem to have taken over many of the threads and destroy any chance of civil, intelligent discourse. As another person noted, the staff will rarely, if ever, reply to any concerns or inquiries. Many good, caring people have walked away from Care2 due to the abundance of trolls there. Until, or unless they do some 'housecleaning' and get rid of the trolls, I will not participate there anymore.
Like many people, as suggested by other reviews, I started signing Care2 petitions that I cared about. But Care2 frequently combined the petitions I wanted to sign with submission boxes that were really about joining certain political election campaigns. They either prevent you from submitting your signature on petitions you want to unless you join the election campaign or trick you into thinking that by clicking on joining these election campaigns (which you don't notice) you are really only signing the petition. It's deceptive. Sadly, I won't be signing anymore of the petitions, many of which I really did care about.
What a shock to see my email flooded with over three hundred beg letters from about a hundred money grab, B. S. psuedo causes that are pretty much not legit. *******@ssh0les I'm killing that account and never signing you crap petitions again.
Invested based on Care2.com "fake news" marketing pitch on StartEngine. Losing $Millions$. High staff turnover. Not responsive to Investor basic questions to learn what's going on. R Paynter should step down but won't. Need to be investigated by state and federal regulatory agencies? Scam?

Warning: Beware. Many complaints.
I've been a member for a long time and now I have serious doubts about this site.
We used to be able to redeem points, get extra points for clicking daily etc. Now I cannot do anything it seems despite numerous complaints to customer service. I also contacted the Turtle Hatchling charity and they said they hadn't received any contributions from Care2 in a long time, so who knows where anything is going, or IF we are really accomplishing anything by clicking, sending green stars etc. I've tried different browsers and no matter how much I try to redeem, my star count never decreases and the processing window seldom completes. I am debating whether to waste my time clicking daily and am sorry this site has come to this.
Everyone, there is a website called Care2.com where you can sign petitions. I was on it last night and signed my name to Brock Turner, to keep him from being paroled. But this morning I received an email saying I signed something to repeal the Trump Tax plan which I know I never did. I believe theyre taking our information and adding it to the petitions they want signed, Im not 100% but just in case, stay off this website.
Another major problem is that the articles that make up the Care2 news section and the Causes section are frequently from disreputable sources of extreme anti-science propaganda. Finally, there is an extreme intolerance of people who post alternative views to whatever agenda the articles are pushing. Generally, an unpleasant site where a small group of people rage that the sky is falling based upon biased information, discourage other view points, and create frequently useless petitions to fight problems that oftentimes don't even exist. And, yes, they are a private, for-profit corporations selling members' data and frequently spamming members' inboxes.
Avoid Care2Petitions.
I believe they are intercepting and switching petitions to further their left-wing agenda.
I went first to the Law Enforcement Today site (which I found out later is not actually sponsoring a petition for impeaching Trump).
From there I then clicked on a link that sent me to whitehouse.gov.
Where I signed a petition to impeach Pelosi. The next day I got a thank-you email from Care2Petitions, thanking me for signing the petition to impeach Trump instead. I sent them an email to complain and when I checked back it was switched to impeachment for Pelosi. They never answered my message.
I had never heard of Care2 before. I noticed there are six other similar complaints about petitions being switched from impeaching Pelosi to Trump on the site.
I used the site to sign a petition helping animals, then I got an email thanking me for signing a Impeachment of Trump Petition. When I tried to get into contact with the site they did not respond. I will be reporting this issue to the Better Business Bureau.
I signed a petition to stop Volkswagen from using monkeys in experiments to test diesel fumes and received an email that I had signed a petition to impeach Trump. I never signed a petition to impeach Trump. Shady...
I thought I was signing a petition dealing with animal welfare, but when I got to the end of it to send it, the petition evidently included another petition to impeach Trump. I would NEVER have signed that as I support the President 100%! I was very distressed to see this happen and wrote multiple emails to the company but no one has responded back. I am insisting that they remove my signature from that petition. I am going to also write to my congressmen about this highly deceptive petition and that it probably has a lot of signatures from people who really hadn't intended to sign it! I can see from other posts here, I am not the only one that this has happened to.
I have been a member since 2012 and now considering leaving this Web site. It's purpodted mission is to promote causes which better the lives of people and all other life.
Unfortunately, my experience has been getting worse and worse as the site bungles basic Web protocols. It has wiped out my profile details several times over the years and if it doesn't improve over the next weeks, I will be deleting my account.
There are other sites to sign petitions on - e.g., Change.org, Forcechange.com, or Avaaz.org - and which provide a sense of community. I am very disappointed in Care2 but I guess that's life.
I too signed 2 petitions. 1 was for the Gravy Train dog food recall. The other was for animal abusers to not be allowed to have guns. I was somehow magically signed up for 3 others that I never signed up for! One of them was to impeach Trump! I happen to like president Trump! What the hell... DO NOT SIGN PETITIONS THERE! Please inform and warn your friends and family about this site and any others that are doing the same!
I went here to sign a few animal petitions, next thing you know they're using MY NAME without my knowledge or permission to sign for far left petitions and other idiotic things I'd NEVER sign for. I read everything very thoroughly, no where did it say my signature would be forged and used to advance people's greedy political agendas! Care2 is garbage! For those writing animal petitions or any other petitions for that matter, use Change.org. At least they don't fraudulently use your name to sign a buttload of political propaganda petitions. Care2 is trash! How did no one sue them yet?! Legal action should be taken against them! This is what's currently driving policy makers and far leftist officials, and most of the signatures are used without your permission! It makes it look as though they have an army of people at their side rallying for far left politics when in fact most of these people AREN'T! Can you say FORGERY AND FRAUD?!
Tip for consumers:
Use Change.org instead. Make sure you are completely unsubscribed from all of Care2's garbage and if they are still using your name report them to the Better Business Bureau.
From what I have able to peruse(read), it appears to be a self-centered organization run by an an Oligarchy( too few rule) and unresponsive or unexpressive to their own members. I have belonged to too many of those sort of groups in the past and find it too hard to be effective in ways in which I feel comfortable and being ascribed views to which I am agreeable(like someone who doesn't know me telling a third person how I feel).
If you sign petitions you build up Butterfly Points to give to charities. These gifts are supposedly donated by Care2 using the Butterfly Points, BUT, you cannot find out if the charity actually receives the gift. To contact Care2 you have to fill in a fiddly online Form which always bounces back asking for more info. I wanted to know if my Butterfly Points Gift was received by ASPCA but Care2 refuse to reply. I want to help animals by signing petitions against abuse and cruelty but wonder if Care2 are genuine? Does anyone know why they dont reply to peoples messages?
