I worried about all of the negativity I read in these horrific reviews, yet honestly, Care Credit has been extremely wonderful to me! They REFUNDED / charged-back $3000. 00 to my account, resulting from my nearly dying from a Dental Malpractice living-nightmare! They offered a refund check to me, with the option to credit the entire amount BACK to my Care Credit account, while PENALIZING the dentist for his malpractice. The Credit Fraud Department told me they were on my side, and they urged me to SUE the awful dentist for nearly killing me, since I ended up in ICU on LIFE-SUPPORT for 10 days after choking in my sleep on the faulty corroded dental implant, which became stuck in my esophagus, as I awoke gasping for air, and somehow awakening on life support 10 days later. The hospital contacted Care Credit for me, submitting my medical records, and Care Credit began processing my refund IMMEDIATELY, while sending me get-well notifications that they were all PRAYING FOR ME!

Give them a break folks! I don't work for them. I'm a consumer just like each of you, so all of this negative publicity is unfair!

Best Wishes, & God bless you all...

Thats the catch. You have to pay 29.99% rate. Not worth it in any way, its better to save up or to get a personal loan. This rate is predatory.

Get the balance, make payments arrangements to be done with payments before the time allotted. Payments aren't coming out, then the weekend before my birthday, the entire balance is taken. Chat with the reps (I had to speak to three of them.) that LIE and say I chose "statement balance". I did not, in order to to make these payment arrangements you have to choose "different amount" for the one-time payment and "other amount " for auto-pay to enter in the amount you want to be deducted. I ask can this be deposited back into my account, no, the check takes 2-3 weeks to get to me. Most people are paid bi-weekly, and this payment can take over a pay-period to receive. Your account for Care Credit has little info on it. They don't record payments due to be taken out. There's no confirmation of the refund check. The first rep didn't even process the refund, they said they would and that this refund will have the minimum payment amount deducted from it. I had to speak to the second one who immediately ended the chat without answering how the refund would have confirmation, they said this would be a full refund. Does this mean I will be hit with a late payment fee? Then the third rep was also in a hurry but I got the answer, the only confirmation is the verbal or written communication in chat, there does not seem to be an option for a transcript of the chat. This is a large payment that takes over a week to receive with no clear tracking or written guarantee. The payment was categorized under "other payment NA" and not "statement balance " like the representatives communicated. I am very unsure and uncomfortable with this incident. I will be contacting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as I see customer satisfaction or record keeping since their 2013 lawsuit has not been a priority.

I had a good experience with Care Credit because I took a zero interest loan for a year and paid it before interest kicked in.

However, just out of curiousity, I called Care Credit when I had $1000 left on my bill.

I asked what would happen if I did NOT pay it off when the zero interest period expired. I was shocked to discover that I would have to, pay $845 in interest on TOP of the $1000 balance

And you can be sure that they are counting on people thinking that Care Credit works like any other credit card. It does not. So you can bet that I paid that off my bill in the zero interest time frame!

I think this Care Credit terms are misleading and not many people understand them. However, IF you can create an automatic payment and pay off the amount while you still have zero interest, you will be fine.

I would suggest you use another credit card in an emergency (if you don't have emergency savings) and do EVERYTHING you can to pay off the Care Credit card in time. The interest on your credit card as well as the minimum, pay, Nets will be FAR lower than the interest if you miss a Care Credit zero interest time frame.

I am extremely grateful that I was able to pay the amount before any interest kicked in because that interest-on TOP of my remaining balance - would have been awful.

This is Day 2 and 3.5 hours in of trying to resolve Care Credit issue. I signed on for 0 interest and used the card on 4 occasions, saving myself the interest by making sure my auto debit paid off debt before their 29.99% apr kicked in. More recently I placed $1800. Charge on the card. I had gone paperless so when I received the email alert I was alarmed, as it stated my entire balance was over $2700. I tried to call for a breakdown as I could not log in. Evidently, the vendor has to be agreeable to terms of no interest when you use the card with their medical service. I learned of this after 10 minutes of insufferable recordings pushing their services before an associate picked up ( which was unexpected)

It is beyond 24 hours and I am still locked out although they won't tell you that you are, so continue to drive yourself into a frenzy with every combination of your last password and username- Synchrony won't help. I could sign on as 'guest' which gives no information other than the total amount owed on account.
Synchrony sneaks my auto debit amount out each month without proper identification or alert, which is their technique for screwing over the customer. At this stage I want to pay off and close account.
Synchrony is the financial backbone of corporations like Lowes, etc. BTW, to pay on your Lowes card you must create 2 separate usernames and passwords to get to that particular Synchrony account. No matter what company they represent, SYNCHRONY is a total mindf**** and I will not do any business with any company associated with them.

If the execs, in their ivory towers, had to deal with the consumer instead of hiding behind employees who take the blunt of angry card members, perhaps they might count us as of some value, in addition to their profits.

Gave it 2 stars ONLY because it helped save my cats life last July. Other than that, I would give it 0 for the way they screwed me.
Had an $800 limit. Used it for an emergency vet situation for our poor kitty. Paid off the almost $700 in the 6 month interest free period. Didn't use for 6 months and I look at my credit score the other day and it went down 40 & 50 points because they closed the account! How dare them! On time payments. Credit was being built. I was saving that card for my cat because he has bladder issues & I was also waiting for my dentist office to open in order to get my painful tooth fixed. How can I have 100% on time payments on all credit cards, and especially cards through their company and because I didn't use it for 6 months(I thought having a low or no balance was a good thing for credit scores) they close my oldest account and now my credit score is so bad I can't even get the loan I was about to get for a new vehicle. This can't be legal to do to someone! They don't take into consideration my good income: debt ratio? Or my 100% on time payments on all cards and loans? I'm so upset about it and I have no idea what to do because there's no way my score will go up that many points anytime soon just making my payments as usual. They are scammers. They are probably mad that they didn't get to make the money from the high interest they would have charged me because I paid my whole balance off within that 6 month promotional period. Any suggestions or if anyone has any experience with this, I would love to hear from you. Thank you! Not sure if I can leave this but I'll try. Email- *******@yahoo.com

Bad experience
May 18, 2019

Up until now, I had used CareCredit card several times through my dentist office. However, I moved last year, and had been looking for a dentist for sometime. I recently settled on one in my new town. They told me what it would cost for xrays and cleaning, and suggested I call CareCredit to ensure my card was still good. So I called this month. Got a man. I told him the situation, and gave him my info. He said my card was still valid. I gave him my new address also.

So, I go to the dentist, the 13th of this month. When the person at the office put my CareCredit through for the $349 payment, it came back DENIED. I called right then and asked why. The lady told me I had closed my account. I told her I never closed the account. She said I had to apply for a new card. Pretty crazy when I had a card for a number of years, and as they could see, always paid on time and never longer than 12 months. I told her I had been told the card was valid, and now, did this not only leave me very embarrassed at a new doctor's office, but as a senior, having to dish out $349 was even more difficult. She made no effort to help me, every thing was very matter of fact and yes I did close my account, pretty much saying I was not told what I was by the other rep, a man.

I find it hard to recommend this company to anyone after being treated as such. Especially, when you have been a very good customer.

Almost all of the reviews I have read about CareCredit are complaints from people who do not understand how promotional rates work and never bothered to read the information mailed to them.

I first heard of CareCredit through Synchrony Bank when my dog needed surgery. I applied for and received the credit within minutes, right there in the vet's office. When the card came, I read over the information and made sure I paid it off within the time frame we had agreed upon. The payment amount on your bill is the MINIMUM payment required. How someone cannot figure out for themselves how much to pay is beyond me. If you have a 12 month promotional rate, divide the total balance by 12 and pay that amount each month. It's really very simple. People don't want to put any effort into understanding their personal responsibility in matters, and want to blame others for their own laziness.

Last Christmas, I also applied for an Amazon Store Card through Synchrony Bank. I got a promotional rate that worked just like CareCredit. I received an email today warning me that my promotional period would expire next month, so I know I need to pay it off. You see, if you pay online, you can go into your account and allocate how much of your payment goes to the promotional rate and how much goes to other balances. You can set up alerts to remind you when promotional rates expire - lots of things.

So, thank you, Synchrony Bank, for all the interest-free loans! Or perhaps I should be thanking all the one-star reviewers who end up paying all the interest because they couldn't be bothered to take care of their own business. Without people like you paying all that interest, the bank would be out of business!

You get the 0% promotional balance on some of the purchases and set up the account on auto payment. For this card, Synchrony bank does not give you any notifications on when your promotional balance will expire as most other cards do. For example, Amazon.com store card, which is issued by the same bank, can be set up to notify you that there is a promotional balance expiring soon. Not with Care Credit. I had a purchase of about $800 for my prescription glasses from Lens Crafters, I've been paying this bill on auto payments for months and suddenly my balance increased by $188. I called customer services, but they told me that 30-days have passed and they cannot reverse my money. I consider this a legal form of theft.
Another frequent issue with this card is that not all medical purchases are covered by the 0% benefit and there is no way for you to know if you don't ask. The medical facility must be registered with Care Credit in order for you to get the benefit of 0% financing. If they are not registered and you pay with Care Credit thinking that you will pay no interest, very soon you will discover a high-interest charge (mine was 26.99%) in your next statement. Frequently the clerks at the medical facilities don't know if the business is registered with Care Credit or not because the card has the Master Card logo and will go through without any warning.
After paying much higher interest than from any other credit card that I have in my possession, I decided to pay off my entire Care Credit balance and stop using them.
Now I even have bad feelings about the Amazon.com card because it is issued by the same Synchrony Bank.

If you're paying for two different promotional balances, steer clear of this company or pay them off early. They're in complete control of where they allocate funds and will do it in such as way that benefits them and gets you left over with massive interest charges.

In 2018, I had two promotional balances. One for 12 months and the other 24 months - which I was under the impression was a 12 month one for next year. This is my first time dealing with credit card payments. I thought that would give me plenty of time to pay one off and then the other. But as it turns out they were splitting the payments.
Understandable, my fault.

Now 2020, I got two promotional balances again. The 24 month one ending this year and a 6 month one made in February. The only way to allocate payments according to them, is having to contact a Customer Service representative. So I set up the payment online and called them to let them now how I wanted to divide the money between the two promotional balances.

I check today, and they've not split the payment at all. The February balance is untouched and all of the payment went into the 24 month one. Suspiciously the one later to expire. At the very least, what happened to making the minimum payment for the other? Will this incur a late fee?

If this isn't a red flag on their customer service I don't know what is! If you're currently paying them, do what you can to pay it off early. Get another credit card with 0% APR, it can't possibly be any worse than this company. Do yourself a favor and GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN. Everything is intentionally unclear, made difficult, and the site and invoices make it confusing - as if it was never designed to handle more than one balance and display allocated funds. So pay close attention to everything. It's only designed so the customer suffers in the end. There is no support or trust. I wouldn't wish this on my own worst enemy!

This company completely screwed me over. The company is manned by minimum wage people who just don't care. The company needs to tank. Any other payment method is better. I would rather go into credit card debt then deal with these jerks.

Let me tell my story.
My dog needed emergency surgery. I was approved for $5,500, which should have been enough. My dog had complications and needed a second surgery and MRI. I called Care Credit the same day and had my limit raised to $10,000. So my dog survived and is doing well. My husband waits outside with my dog while I pay the bill. I went to the first desk and explained that I had raised my credit limit to $10,000. They tried to add the balance to my loan but could not get the promotional code to work because the computer didn't understand that the additional $2,500 was part of the same bill. I call Care Credit while waiting. The young lady told me to have them back out the $5,500 and then charge the corrected amount of $7,800. Of course it didn't work because it takes time for the refund to show. But the simpleton that helped me was too stupid or tell me that. Most likely she just didn't care. So I call back and get another person. That girl states that there is nothing they can do. I demand a manager. They manger says there is nothing she can do. I then demand they up my limit. That is the only way they can make this up to me because they gave me the wrong information and screwed me over, after I had gone to all of the trouble to get the credit increase days before. Of course they would not raise my credit and I have excellent credit. I refinanced the loan the same day with a more reputable bank. I will never let this horrible company make one cent off of me.

Oh, keep in mind that the whole time that drama was going on at the front desk my husband is waiting outside with a drugged up dog who is supposed to be recovering from surgery.

I told them how they screwed me over and they denied it all. Thank goodness I had another payment method or I don't know what would have happened.

AGAIN, THESE ARE HORRIBLE HUMAN BEINGS. THEY ARE TRASH. DO NOT USE THEM. Use any other method. Please learn from my story.
