I recently ordered from them and was really surprised by the quality of the items. I love the purse, it's the best one I have ever bought. Very well made. In the past I have paid four and five times that amount on a purse, that would last only two or three weeks. The handles would rip and fray. None of that has occurred with my Carol Wright Gifts purse. It still looks great after two months of use. I wish the items were shipped a little faster though.

This is a conglomerate of catelog stores that are ripping off customers with false advertiesing of free or reduced shipping. Apparently $10.98 is the magic amount to be overbilled on shipping despite advertising free or reduced shipping. All are owned by one big company, Colony Brands, headquartered in Monroe, WI. Colony Brands acquired 12 brands from AmeriMark Holdings including Dr. Leonard's, Carol Wright Gifts and Harriet Carter. ALL of these practice the same shipping/billing scam.

Scam on 'Promo' shipping then they bill you after shipping the item for $10.98! This was NOT what the promo advertised. Even if you try to return the item due to poor quality, and IF and notice that is an 'IF' you receive a refund it is pennies on the dollar because they charged you more shipping and deducted it from your refund.

My first order went smooth enough, though it took longer than advertised for my order to actually leave the warehouse. Also I love the curtains I purchased but the tie backs were clearly 4 shades lighter so. I don't use them. Come to find out that was as good as it gets! I ordered again because they had some cheap clearance. BIG MISTAKE! I had to pay a COVID-19 additional charge this time plus shipping. When the box arrived not only was I missing an item but they shipped a wrong item, as well. They included a shipping later for returns but if you read the fine print the shipping charge will be deducted from your refund. Why should I pay for their mistake? After arguing on the phone for an hour I gave up.

I love the curtains though their thin and cheaply made. I’m stuck with a recliner cover when I ordered a love seat cover so I don’t use the matching cover for my couch either. Basically a waste of $ but I’ll be damned if they get anymore of my money! Ll throw these away first!
In April I purchased some flower pots for my elderly mother. The items arrived as expected. What was not expected was being signed up for "Carol Wright Perks" for $14.95 per month.
They sign people up for this and say that they email a confirmation. I could find no such confirmation. I could not get into my account. Their "forgot password" button does not seem to work. The person on their online chat could not address this and had a canned response for complaints. This response shows that they are used to complaint about the Perks charges.
Again, this is a scam. A little monthly bill that they hope goes unnoticed.
I was surprised to find out upon checking my bank account that I was being charged by this company a monthly membership that I never chose to sign up for! I don't even have an account with them. I have only bought one pair of shoes for the first time on their website, and this is what happened. Not buying there again.

Placed a several item clothing order. One item out of stock at time of order, changed to different item. Confirmed items wanted available by CS Agent. Placed order. Two weeks past longest estimated delivery, no receipt. Called and told several items out of stock! Never notified. Asked if I waited would they just ship at later date, told no. Asked if the out of stock items would be restocked at future date; told maybe, dont know, dont have them! Asked to change order to different item, told no, I had to start from scratch and AGAIN pay full handling, etc. I had CONFIRMED items available when ordered! This is bait and switch and being hit with repeat handling charges. Out of my 11 items, I got 2! I'm reporting this issue to the NJ state consumers bureau. Something very shady here. Made sure my credit card was carefully locked down!
My bank (TCF) closed last March. The payment I sent carol wright in march has apparently disappeared along with my bank. I have continued to make my payments from my new banks checking account but they keep insisting on an additional payment. I've been buying from them for years, making all my payments no problem but they don't care it could be a closed bank causing the problem. I'm always polite. I tried to explain this to customer services politely and she just hung up on me.

I ordered a skirt online. "Free shipping" was advertised. They then charge a "handling charge"! Very poor communication, had to wait a couple of weeks before my order was shipped. When a package finally arrived today, THEY HAD SENT THE WRONG ITEM. What's more, they expect me to PAY out of pocket to return the item to them. In addition, the "return label" is actually the address label for the lady who must have ordered the shorts which were sent to me. Total chaos! Will never use them again. Now I have to call my credit card company to make sure my charges are reversed.
I had conducted business with Carol Wright for years with no issues. Recently, however, I experienced a significant one. I placed an order and received the confirmation e-mail for my order. I decided to cancel the order, placing 5 phone calls to do so. Each time I was told by customer service my order was not in the system yet. After the 5th day, the charge for the item appeared on my checking account statement, for they had debited my bank card. I called Carol Wright to cancel the order. Customer service had no record of the order, despite my confirmation number and e-mail. They also could not explain why my bank card was charged when no record of my order existed in their system. I disputed the charge with my bank to have the charge removed.
This is the 1st time I ordered from Carol Wright. The French terry pants I received, I love. I am sending back 2 summer cotton dresses as the fabric is very thin.
The shipping was free when I placed my order, but the shipping/handling was $3.95. I am not sure if it is fair to say the shipping is free when there is a handling fee. No one charges a handling fee anymore.
However, I think the item that irritated me the most with my order, was the $1.95 I had to pay for 'Priority Service Plus prompt free replacement for orders lost in transit'. This charge was not optional, but required. Not at all happy with this charge.
Your company is disgusting and offensive for including pornographic material in your catalogs (Dr. Leonard's). You should be fined for sending that garbage in the mail. When looking through a clothes and gifts catalog I do not expect to see pornographic movies and sex toys for sale.
I paid $68 extra for 3 day shipping to GET my gifts by Christmas. Its now 2 days after new years and still no gifts. My wife divorced me and my Daughter is totally let down. Thank You Carol Wright gifts for ruining my families Christmas

Why would I order more things when I can't track them or contact them. Fortunately I paid through Pay Pal and got my $$$ back. I know they have filed bankruptcy. I have ordered several items from Carol Wright. I found that their products are of good quality and reasonably priced. I have found items that can't be purchased in any store. It is a great shopping experience.
$12.97 disappeared from my bank account after ordering from CarolWright Gifts. I researched online and their are consumers who went through the same thing with this company and other companies. I reported it as a scam and closed card. I am returning my items as I get them.
Poor quality and unfair return policies. Ordered in Nov. For Christmas present. The 30-day-return time was over before he even opened his PJs. Washed before wsearing, but his hands and my sheets turned blue. Returning them or exchanging them would cost $10--that's half the price I originally paid. Not worth the cheap material they are made of.

Never ever order from these two they are affiliated with each other and will rob you, they send out catalogs, after they approve you, most of the items look like it came from a flee market and instead of the bill going down it constantly goes up by the minute.
I will never purchase anything from this company again! I have always heard good things about Carol Wright. So I went on their website to check out their shoes. I decided to order 2 pairs. About an hour later I called to cancel the order being I found the exact same pairs for half the price at another company. The guy I spoke with said he couldn't cancel it because it already went to the warehouse. He said he was gonna let them know to cancel it. 2 days later, they shipped. Obviously something went wrong. I called again and was told I could send them back but they would take $10 off my refund. Never again!
I placed an order on June 8th received a confirmation when to check the order status it says the item was on backorder and an undetermined date for it to be in stock. I've been trying to contact them both of their phone numbers have been disconnected. They do not reply by email, I've been trying to cancel the order. I've sent them a message on their Facebook account I've not received a reply. I paid through PayPal but PayPal does it seem to care, it's still pending. It's just a mess I don't know what happened to this company has it been taken over by Hackers!? Or has it really shut down like I read in another review but they're still accepting orders?
