I have 2 vehicles covered under car shield including my 19 year old Land Cruiser. It comes with specific & straight forward guidance if we ever break down. Very happy to know I'm covered in the future!
Engine blew up and they only covered $1200 out of the $6000. My shop provided all the necessary details from cause of failure to freeze frame data. They refused to pay the entire claim. Even though all parts were covered under the contract. If you google this company you'll understand why there's a 10 million dollar lawsuit for deceptive ads. No shop or dealership wants to deal with CarShield either. They are difficult to work with and do not pay out. Save yourself and go with another company.
My problem was taken care of swiftly and saved me money.
The ads on TV were my inspiration.

I paid into CarShield for six months before I started experiencing car problems. However, when I did need CarShield they told me to pay for the initial diagnostic cost up front from the auto dealership where I took my car for repairs. The dealership said that CarShield want me to pay for the labor, diagnostic and repair cost up front and CarShield would reimburse me. The diagnostic revealed that the cost had come to over $5000.00, and CarShield also told me to pay the cost and CarShield would reimburse me later. I was under the impression that CarShield did that up front, so there members wouldn't need to go through that. I didn't have $5000.00 available to wait to be reimbursed by CarShield. That was the whole reason for my signing up for CarShield in the first place. The CarShield commercials are very miss leading. I wish there was a way I could get reimbursed for the six months of payments paid because I paid in good faith. Trusting / believing that CarShield was offering a product which I purchased in good faith, now I want my money back. CarShield sold me a fake bill of goods. I feel ripped off, violated. All those celebrities, convincing unassuming customers and selling them about how practical and affordable they believe CarShield was for them, and even lead those same unassuming customers that they were customers themselves. As i think back over those commercials for CarShield. What kind of successful Hollywood Celebrity couldn't afford a new car if needed. It makes me rethink the lifestyles of those celebrities representing CarShield. I'm so disappointed in CarShield, because with all of the corporate trick-a-ration going on these days. CarShield doesn't appear to be a good corporate citizen. You got me CarShield. Now give me my money back.
Evasive. Got the back and forth, between CarShield. and my repair dealership. This went for a week and a half.
Because, I believed in what your celebrities sold me. I also thought your product was something I needed, and I did have an older car without a current warranty. Never did I expected CarShield to telling me that I needed to pay for the diagnostic myself, and CarShield would reimburse me later. Unfortunately, I don’t happen to have $ 5000.00 lying around

I was told one thing by one customer representative and was told something else, or was corrected by another. Very confusing
I choose to go with car shields, because I assume all that I was told and saw on their commercials was factual truth.
