I have 2 vehicles covered under car shield including my 19 year old Land Cruiser. It comes with specific & straight forward guidance if we ever break down. Very happy to know I'm covered in the future!
Engine blew up and they only covered $1200 out of the $6000. My shop provided all the necessary details from cause of failure to freeze frame data. They refused to pay the entire claim. Even though all parts were covered under the contract. If you google this company you'll understand why there's a 10 million dollar lawsuit for deceptive ads. No shop or dealership wants to deal with CarShield either. They are difficult to work with and do not pay out. Save yourself and go with another company.
We have been paying $89 a month for years, and our turn signals do not work, so we got an estimate for $300 and CARSHIELD would not pay it. They say it is not important or dangerous to drive without turn signal. Had we not been paying that money per month for years, we could afford to pay for the turn signals to be fixed. We cannot due to living on Social Security.
Same as above. Even though we have paid for years, $89 a month, they would not approve a $300 repair so that we could have turn signals.
We thought they were an honest group, concerned with fulfilling their responsibilities. We were wrong.

I called about possibly filing a claim and was advised the parts were not covered. I spoke to Monica and advised I wanted to cancel my policy and she gave me hope that maybe some of the parts or the labor could be covered. So I sent the invoice in and received letter that parts were covered. That's fine, but please don't give me false hope. Always I couldn't get a better plan, so I cancelled my policy. And we cancel my second policy soon
The first person I spoke to needs more training. She transferred me to another person and he advised the parts were not covered and just disconnected the call without any explanation.
Because it was at the time the only one that I saw advertised. I've heard horrible stories about Car Shield and was already in the process of finding another warranty company.

Once I figured out how this policy worked, I'm very happy with it. I had a problem half a year ago or so and I had the Garage fix it and get in touch with you guys. It was denied because I did not realize the garage had to call you first Prior to them doing any work. I was in a tough situation with needing my car ASAP due to a family emergency and I did not realize that I needed approval before getting it done. Now that I know how it works I am very happy with what was done recently.

Overall my experience in three years with CarShied was good and I did manage to save a lot of money on repairs. I guess if I had one complain is that most of the time the car was out of service because the dealership had to wait for CarShield to deliver the needed parts. On their behalf they offered a rental but being retired and having another vehicle I turned down they rental. If you have a car out of warranty I would strongly edge you to purchase a CarShield policy because in the long run you will save money on repair cost.
I compared several companies and this was a better fit financially.

I was with this company for about two years until March 30 when I found out, they dented my claim just because my tag was out but less be honest they worry about the wrong thing. What about Insurance? I can see if I didn't have Insurance on my car I have have been driving it but for a tag being out come on NOW so people please be careful with this company cause they will come up with anything they can not to GET your car fix when you paying every month…

There were constant computer snafus on your end, after 1.5 hours on the phone I never received the email confirming my claim or how to proceed.
Looks like another couple hours on the phone to get the claim submitted. Poor form on your part.

Car started acting funny early Friday morning on my way to work. Called car shield had it towed to repair shop. Tow charge 180 dollars out of pocket 55 dollars
Repair shop looked at my car Monday morning around 1130a ran diagnostics on my car discovered it was the transmission. Had a new transmission installed and was completely done with my car by 11a Friday morning. I received a rental car that Wednesday. At no cost to me. Which did take a little longer to get than I was happy about but everything turned out fine. I'm truly happy and blessed that I have Car Sheild. The monthly charge is definitely worth paying.

They just decide without proving evidence for the denial! CarShield doesn't actually hold the warranty, they are just a broker; when you file a claim the only one you can speak to is a service representative and not the actual Adjuster making the decisions! They do not respond in a timely manor unless it is to tell you that they denied your claim! Not worth the money! I sent them all of my service records and because the pictures weren't clear they denied my claim saying lack of service.
The service representatives only have spotty notes at best and they don’t even keep their own notes

Brought my Mazda3 to Paretti Mazda for some problems & after doing their diagnostic tests, they told me that they NO longer deal with Car Shield anymore. I did not know that & had to pay a good bit for their labor or work.
Hoping that Car Shield can pay some of their ( Mazda) works. Have been paying Car Shield $ 99 monthly for years now but I could not even use it when I had some claims to file. Brought my car to another car shop & after the work done, they called Car Shield & Car Shield denied again saying that that kind of work is not in my contract.

Currently, I have two active policies with CarShield for different vehicles which were taken out approximately five years. Recently (last two years) I began having issues, I reached out to confirm my policy coverage. After American Auto Shield confirmed I have convertible top coverage for the motor, they instructed me to have the dealership call for an authorization after the diagnosis. This is when the communication failed and the authorization was denied as not covered on my plan. American Auto Shield denied in error and ultimately it took almost two years to get a partial reimbursement. I was told by a supervisor to call the company who sold me the coverage because American Auto Shield has denied it and they will not change that decision regardless of who I speak with.
Often my experience is negative, rude customer service and transfers to departments that have no one available. A separate incident: Roadside misquoted my towing coverage because they confused the two policies and will only reimbursed a smaller amount of the paid receipt.
I have expressed concerns about service or lack of service, long list of repair shops that do not work on Mercedes, out of pocket expenses for covered parts grossly exceeding my deductible and unresolved claims for covered repairs.
The current CarShield commercials and CarShield sales are not deductible only for covered parts I has not been my personal experience. My out of pocket for covered parts have far exceeded my deductible.

Went to dealership to get car fixed they would not take car shield because they will not pay the dealership. I went to another place that car shield recommened to go but they would not do the work on my car. Went to a second place and wouldn't do the job. I got the list from car shield but no one wants to do the job.
Sent me bad information on where I could get my car fixed. I'm going to try one more time. If not I'm taking my business else where.
I fell for the false advertisement that they pay to get your car fixed. Why don't they pay the dealership I want to go to? My car still is not fixed yet.

2 months out of 8 paid, no claims, and "Administration " cancelled policy, claiming a discrepancy on car fax. 5 calls to 3 companies and "Administration can not and will not disclose discrepancy or policies used to terminate.
Truth: my vehicle continues to go up in value, and potential repair costs and I no longer meet the risk threshold, so termination before they have to pay out any repairs.
5 calls 3 companies, no accountability or transparency in why they cancelled me.
To get them to stop harassing me, and to gain piece of mind for my no longer manufactured Chevy Avalanche.

While my first claim was being done, the mechanic noticed an upcoming issue with my AC. He filed the claim and Car Shield approved it. That did impress me. The 4 stars is because there are still issues with substandard parts and additional uncovered cost. Along with online responses if I don't give 5 stars.

I am disabled and they never told me about having to drive atleast 400 miles before service kicked in. I drive 5 to 10 miless a week so it would take years to meet the miles. Also this was for my 2nd car which is an expedition which I only use to pick up supplies for projects so it would take over 5 years to reach 400 miles. I paid for over 6 months which and am on SS disability which hurts me finacially.
