I've been a member of Carshield's Warranty Program for quite a few years. During this time, I've had to do maintenance on several vehicle parts. When claims were called in for approval I must say the dealership handling all repairs have been received positively wit prompt and immediate responses for claim verification. I have been blessed to not have my price portions to be above what I felt was reasonable. All claims are received, quoted a price with repairer, and paid upon completion of work. Yes! I'm a satisfied and pleased customer with CarShield and my repair dealership, Firestone for excellent care and showmanship of service! The cost to replace the faulty touch screen on my car was covered by Car Shield. However, I was not expecting that Car Shield does does not cover the cost off programming it so it will function properly.
You are not the company for me because when I needed your help you left me dry after send you money every month. And I need you to pay for my car to get fix. And to fine out the company didn't take you. You wouldn't not only send my money back you wouldn't even pay half.

I called CarShield for radio/speakers & heat seater not working. I was told some of it would be covered. My mechanic found leakage from power steering & under transmission. He called CarShield reps & explained there was more. CarShield increased what was newly found wrong, and covered "some" costs. I believe Car shield could cover more basics.
I did receive text msgs from CarShield stating what was increased. What I didn't like about with this experience, is nobody called me from Carshield? I feel whoever the mechanics talk to about service costs should AUTOMATICALLY trigger that agent to call me directly afterwards. Seems normal. I need real contact with real people. Txt msgs do not explain anything. Please change this & have "follow up calls" to provide better service.
Also mechanics believe the "REAL COST OF REPAIRS" is outdated on CarShield side. The cost of maintenance has gone up tremendously. CarShield prices are old and outdated!

What do you do when your transmission mounts fail causing your engine to come crashing down while driving?
Call CarShield. They towed my car home that night then once we finally found a transmission shop, they had it towed.
Best part was no money for the tow and lots of help getting the process started.

CarShield refused to cover my A/C compressor repairs because one of the refrigerant hoses coming from compressor was not made of a certain type of material.
I chose CarShield in hopes of relieving some of the cost of repairs; especially in todays economy with price of parts and labor being so expensive. Unless a customer buys a vehicle brand new; they have no control over what parts were installed prior to them owning the vehicle. Very disappointed!

It was easy to cancel one of my vehicles, however, the things I need done on my vehicle right now is not covered. Which makes me feel like maybe I don't need it at all if I have to pay $2000+ out of my own pocket to pay for things I need done on my vehicle right now on top of pay my monthly payment to Carshield. So I am seriously consider canceling my policy.

Needless to say I'm not impressed. I pay every month for coverage. Finally used it after two years. Needed a water pump replacement. The shop told me they refused to pay for all the parts needed to fix my water pump. They also refused to pay for a few other major issues that should not be considered wear/tear parts. I will just pocket the money I pay this company each month.

CarShield is a complete nightmare. I purchased their extended warranty thinking it would provide peace of mind, but it turned out 2 b a total waste of money. First of all, They say u can use a Mechanic of UR choice."THE LIES" If ur Mechanic does not accept Carshield then THE CONTRACT IS USELESS!
When my car broke down and I tried 2 make a claim, they found every possible reason 2 deny it. They claimed that the repair wasn't covered due 2 some obscure clause buried deep n the fine print. It felt like they were actively looking 4 ways 2 avoid paying 4 anything.
To make matters worse, even when they did cover a repair, they only agreed 2 pay a fraction of the cost, leaving me 2 foot a hefty bill. Their coverage is so limited and their customer service is ABYSMAL. I ended up paying MORE out of pocket than if I hadn't bought the warranty at all.
I would strongly advise AGAINST purchasing CarShield. It's a rip-off and they do not stand behind their promises. Save your money and look for a reputable warranty provider instead.

Approximately two weeks ago I received a call from customer support informing me that it was time to reup my service agreement. I was informed that I was able to change my payment method to either 6 months payment and save $30.00 or 1 year and save $60.00 or stay the same (monthly) and not aquire and additional savings. I opted for the 6 months billing. Upon reviewing my CC statement I saw that I was charged BOTH the regular billing AND the 6 months billing as well. I am not a happy camper. I will be calling Car Shield on Monday.
Originally, I was told that Car Shield was a good deal. My experience up until now has been great. Great service in getting my truck repaired when a failure occurred has been excellent. This situation has upset me extremely.

They paid for my first motor then when that one did the samething as the other with the same code they said they wouldn't pay for another motor even tho the code was the same no difference
They were kinda rude when I asked why they wouldn't replace it since they are the ones who bought the motor that now needs replacing because it did what the first motor did

My car had to be fixed so I went to my local dealership to pay for a gasket that blew.
So I told them I had Carshield The service tech called to get them to pay for all I needed to be done for my car. Well American Shield that's with this company, called me and told me They don't pay for all the labor and diagnostic that they are asking, for so I would have to pay for the rest I was out of $690.00.
I admit they paid and approved $611.00. I was only supposed to pay $100.00 of the deductible and get my car back. That's 2 payments on a car altogether. Mario at my dealership gave me a discount
Thanks To Mario I got my car Fixed. Never again will I mess with this kind of Cheap So Call Car Repair Insurance for cars. I wait 5yrs to get a new one.
