I have 2 vehicles covered under car shield including my 19 year old Land Cruiser. It comes with specific & straight forward guidance if we ever break down. Very happy to know I'm covered in the future!
Engine blew up and they only covered $1200 out of the $6000. My shop provided all the necessary details from cause of failure to freeze frame data. They refused to pay the entire claim. Even though all parts were covered under the contract. If you google this company you'll understand why there's a 10 million dollar lawsuit for deceptive ads. No shop or dealership wants to deal with CarShield either. They are difficult to work with and do not pay out. Save yourself and go with another company.
Carshield does NOT pay for repairs like they claim to. I have the gold protection coverage which includes enhanced powertrain coverage. My transmission started having issues and the adjuster said they would NOT cover ANY repairs because it was a "PRE-EXISTING CONDITION". I purchased Carshield to give me peace of mind because it was a 5 year old vehicle and I had no records of how the previous owners maintained the car. Well, Carshield will not cover repairs that were due to the negligence of the previous owner. I asked the adjuster what was the point of used car warranty if that was the case and he said did not know. The adjuster's name is Mark. They send out an inspector that works for them which will find a way to get away with not having to pay for repairs. Mark also clearly told me on the phone that the only thing they could cover was the diagnostics test then refused to cover that as well. I called the Carshield claims department asking for Mark to give me a call and they said he didn't have to call me and then pretended that they couldn't hear me and hung up on me. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER DEALT WITH SUCH A FRAUDULENT, UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY. I highly recommend you do not waste your money on this company or expect for them to pay for any repairs.

The commercial and advertising are all false. We have been with CarShield for 5+ years, making our payments on time and keeping our car regularly maintained at the dealership. We had a problem with the throttle body a couple of years ago and we were denied the claim because in the fine print, throttle bodies aren't covered. This past month, when we took the car in for service they said that the car was burning oil and needed to do a teardown to figure out the problem. We reported this to CarShield, they approved the teardown and authorized us to get a rental vehicle. The dealership did the teardown and realized that a new engine would be needed, but had to wait three weeks to get an inspection from CarShield. They finally came and did the inspection and sent my wife a text saying that the repairs are approved. Great! Until the following day when they called to say that the repairs were not approved AND since they weren't, we had to pay for the rental car...after a 3 week delay on their part!
Basically, in our experience, every word in their commercials and ads and on the website are untrue. We paid over $5,000 in premiums for absolutely nothing but disappointment in return. We have canceled this bogus service and recommend that everyone else do the same. No matter the issue with your car, they have some unseen little loophole to get out of paying for it like they say. This is not an extended warranty, this is a scam. The only response they had to our questions is "you didn't read the fine print." If we saw everything in the fine print, we never would have paid a nickel to this company, because nothing is covered.
