I have 2 vehicles covered under car shield including my 19 year old Land Cruiser. It comes with specific & straight forward guidance if we ever break down. Very happy to know I'm covered in the future!
Engine blew up and they only covered $1200 out of the $6000. My shop provided all the necessary details from cause of failure to freeze frame data. They refused to pay the entire claim. Even though all parts were covered under the contract. If you google this company you'll understand why there's a 10 million dollar lawsuit for deceptive ads. No shop or dealership wants to deal with CarShield either. They are difficult to work with and do not pay out. Save yourself and go with another company.
No one that I have an extra warranty on my vehicle is nice and I don't have to worry about breakdowns. I am going to tell my daughters about Car Shield because it is great knowing that if you break down, it doesn't cost you hundreds or thousands of dollars for your vehicle.
When we first got on Car Shield, we needed to explain how many miles we had to use and how long we had to have the coverage for before we could use it which we don’t need to use it right now because our car is in really good shape. It only has 50,000 51,000 miles on it and it’s a 2017 Toyota Corolla. It’s a very good car.

My vehicle was denied of an ordinary oil cooler on 04-01-2024. If i knew that this would have happened almost 2 yrs ago, i wouldn't have had any contract with car shield. Finally, it was both regrettable & unbelievable experience that i would never forget.

I do not know where to start except with a small oil drip. Had taken my car to the Chevrolet dealership i purchased from in 2016. After My car sat for 1 week and they had not even looked at it, and no communication from them either and to top that off, no longer accepted Car Shield. To make a long story short, I picked my car up and took it to a nearby auto repair shop, Performance Auto Care (Fort Worth,TX). To my surprise they accepted Car Shield!
My leak was a major head gasket leak. Everything was covered in my Car Shield "Diamond plan".
My expense was my $100.00 deductible on as $2,100.00 auto repair! Car Shield gave authorization to start the engine service as soon as the mechanic at Performance Auto Care contacted them.

The reason I chose Car Shield was my 5 year extended warranty on my 2016 Chevrolet Malibu was about to expire and i thought I had better get some coverage for the just in case. This is the second time I have used my Car Shield and both repairs had been over $1,000.00. I would recommend Car Shield to anyone who has their car extended car warranty about to expire. You will be glad when the time come and you are covered with Car Shield. The line I have heard is not IF the car has a breakdown... it is when, Because it will happen. Go Gar Shield!

Surely would nice if wear and tear and breakdowns could be clearer. Old Betsy has been wonderful. Tires, wipers, break pads, oil, filters, bulbs, easily defined. Old Betsy is all wear and tear so where do you draw the line?
You advertise avoiding major breakdown protection, not wear and tear! Poor old Betsy didn’t seem to qualify in my understanding and $500.00 deductible seemed a bit high; so I cancelled my policy unable as I was to understand wear and tear of Old Betsy. She still runs great 1000 miles later and who really knows what is wear and tear?

Had a frustrating experience receiving payment to my repair shop. There were too many customer representatives telling me how to file the claim which I needed my repair shop representatives to call to get payment immediately.

We joined Car Shield to help with car repairs. Or so we thought. We had two very serious repairs and Car Shield covered neither of them. We spent over $1000 on a Car Shield membership with and then we encountered a problem. The master cylinder went out on the brakes while I was driving and managed to get home and then get the car to a repair shop who diagnosed the problem. Called Car Shield and we were turned down. The next incident was the car would not start one day and we had to have the car towed and it was turbo system and the car was not able to be repaired. We tried to get help from Car Shield and NOTHING. So we cancelled Car Shield. The ads are misleading because they do not say just what they will help reimburse you for in repairs.
Awful. Not helpful or sympathetic.
We were impressed with the ads we saw on TV and the letters we received in the mail.

It has taken a month to get answers on my broke down vehicle. The shop has already said it will need a new transmission but carshield has asked more questions than my life insurance company did. I am without a vehicle and in jeopardy of losing my job now.
The last person I spoke to, Samantha, was great other than she didn’t call me back Saturday like she said. The other individuals have talked over me and not listened to my concerns.
I chose Carshield off of the promises of repairing anything covered under contract in an efficient and timely manner and also covering roadside services. I had to pay for my own towing bill and have gotten the total run around with my suv in the shop.

At the beginning it was a little rough, the place where you guys suggested my vehicle to go was great, and they worked with me all the way through but they had my vehicle for a month. I wasn't aware it was gonna take this long I don't believe meineke was at fault. They said it was car shield who was holding up the process, at the end I was very satisfied though.

I appreciate the opportunity to get this service, although I may not be using it for a while. My vehicle is in very good condition, and I try to keep up with any maintenance it may need in a timely manner.

My experience with Carshield has been mostly positive but beware you may still have to pay for covered services above your deductible. Ads seem to infer that they pay everything after the deductible is paid but that is not true and the cost can be substantial.

CarShield is a blessing, if you need your Car done, you have it made. Only pay 100.00 dollars down, and the Co. Pays the rest. All the other companies charge 150, or more, and there's a catch to it all, do not get stuck, go with the right Co. And your mind will be at ease
The customer service is great, all are well in formed, and very polite.
After 16 years, would not go with any one else. Make sure you have all the information to give to your repair company, and you have it made.
