A couple of months after I signed up, I almost cancelled. Car shield reps worked with me to find the right coverage that better suited my needs that fit with my budget. I questioned my decision from time to time, all the way up until my transmission AND differential both gave out simultaneously. Over $8,000.00 that they covered. I had to pay almost $450.00 for the stuff that wasn't covered like fluids. Saved my A**! As long as you read your contract and know what to expect, Car Shield is a very good service.
I was called twice about my bill not gone through my credit card when I had a email from my bank showing that went through OK. So by the third time I had to tell the operator to recheck because it was paid. So I don't know why I was called when it was paid on time so looks like one department didn't know what the other department was doing
I was nervous calling but the agent said ok.Let me see if ford on board, and the agent said i sent you confirmation and he did went to ford they call car shield.and the rest is history as they say. AWESOME COMPANY

I called in to see if part was cover and gave the GM part number and the name of the part was assured the part was covered but they said the service repair shop had to made the request after their diagnostic. I had them do that only for the shop to be told the part wasn't covered. After my time and money spent, I called and asked for supervisor to call to explain to me why? Never received a call.

First, I spoke with a very nice young lady named Jada and she transferred me to another very nice young lady named Jada. I explained my reason for calling and the second Jada fixed the problem. I appreciate the time they both took to listen to my concern and the fact that the problem was fixed so rapidly. Thank you all and keep up the good work!
Prior to the call I made in December, I had previously called in October, 2023 regarding receiving a senior discount on my monthly premium and was told that it would be applied to my next premium due which would have been November, 2023. When I hadn't seen the change on my autopay charges, I called again. I won't know if it went through until I get my notice for my January, 2024 premium.
It was the first company of this type that I had heard of so I called, got all the info I needed and decided to join. I now see that there are a few others out there but Car Shield has come through for me and I don't intend to change at this time.

My diesel truck was giving me ABS warning messages so I went ahead and took it to the dealer. Diagnosis came back with not only an oil leak in the upper oil pan but a blown ABS module and a non-responsive RC module. CarShield covered all but the RCM as that is part of the airbag system which they don't cover. Also was able to get a rental vehicle through CarShield.
An aging vehicle plus expensive to fix without any coverage.

I have been trying to get a reimbursement for 1,750. I'm being told because there is no labor on the invoice I guess I'm not gonna to be reimbursed. I don't understand the job is a replacement for a problem with the old screen. The price is 1,750 total this job the labor is built in to the price. Tesla sent a message saying this is how this particular job goes and they can't manipulate the invoice to put it there the labor. So if I don't hear anything from carshield by Monday because like I told the person on the phone on Friday no one is going to call me back. And they didn't.
They have done nothing but tell me the same thing every time I call about my reimbursement that here is no labor on the invoice. The last time the girl asked for my acct number I gave it to her and she disconnected me and I was on hold for about 20 minutes
Thought you all were legit not try to get out of paying a claim after the First Lady that I spoke with who promised the world even lowered my deductible to 100 dollars because I wanted to cancel and get my money returned because of this job at the start.

We are always happy to explain your coverage details and assist in any customer service needs, however. We, at CarShield, have little to no control over the decision of your claims. That is up to the administrator of the account.
The representative gave answers quickly and pleasantly. As the policy was not lapsing the call was unnecessary.
Policies were put in place by my late husband and are being carried on by me.

I recently purchased a 2002 Porsche Boxster S. I wanted to purchase coverage for this car because repairs can be pricey. The first time I tried to use the coverage I was unable to find a mechanic in my area that was in the network. After repeated attempts I canceled the coverage.
Customer service tried to assist me and was very sympathetic to my situation.

They were very quick in reimbursing me for my tow. I have not had to use them for any other reason, but from what I've heard they are very reputable company. Should I need to use a company like that again I would definitely use CarShield.

There were no repair shops around me so I had to get my car towed to Newton which is a ways away. I had to pay the tow truck driver $337 to get it there that's with my $125 help from carshield. Once there they did a diagnostic and they said it was a pressure hose. And car show said we don't cover that. So not only am I out the entire amount that I am supposed to pay to the mechanic shop I am also out the 337 I paid to the tow company. I have been a customer for longer than a year I've been paying $141 for longer than a year without any claims. I feel taken advantage of I am so unhappy I feel like screaming.
Customer service was not helpful at all, they told me I needed to do everything myself and then I was like what I got different stories from different people it was horrible. I was transferred around just irritating.

I have had several instances where I needed Car Shield services. They have always been there to help me get the covered repairs to my F-250 when a break down occurred.
I watched the advertisments and decided to give them a try. So glad I did.

Service location provided by CarShield representative wouldn't honor the coverage so had to pay out of pocket. Follow up with CarShield resulted on less then 1/4 reimbursement of what had to be paid to repair the vehicle.
The CarShield/American Auto-Shield representatives were courteous and professional however it was obvious they were following a script.
I thought it would provide the extended coverage I needed.

One time I had to send my car to the dealership and the tow truck company told me I had to pay $80.00 out of my pocket. So I had to use my auto insurance coverage to get my car towed to the dealership. And after the repair was completed I had to $75.00 more plus the $100.00 deductable.
I was told at the time that it was my responsibility to pay the extra amount at the time my car repair was completed.
I thought it was a good warranty. But I had nothing but problems.

Being the car shield ap gives a delete vehicle option I thought as would most that deleting a vehicle there would cancel the contract. Wrong! Unbenounced to me one has to call to delete a vehicle contract. Thus I was billed for a contract I thought I deleted

I signed up with CarShield in 2020 +/-. My dealer accepted repairs that CarShield would reimburse the dealer for.
Within the last year, my dealer will NOT accept CarShield and another dealer that I have used will accept CarShield, but basically under duress. Apparently CarShield is a pain to deal with, slow to authorize repairs.
The closest CarShield repair facility that CarShield provided to me is over 30 minutes away. Oh, yeah, I am in the suburbs of a major east-coast city. There are 5 or so mechanics within 5 miles of my residence.
Before you sign-up with CarShield, check if your mechanics will accept them. CarShield is legitimate, but they CarShield has left a bad impression with mechanics.

Sorry you’re having trouble finding a local repair shop that accepts our coverage. Some shops refuse to take our coverage, however it is not for the reasons you may think. Some shops refuse to take any outside coverage because they want to be in charge of their own prices. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that tells repair facilities what to charge for what services and things like that. But it's up to each individual shop whether or not they want to follow it. With coverage like ours, we keep shops from overcharging our customers and shops don't always like that. We’re happy to stand on our record of servicing over 2 million customers over our 18 years in business. Not to mention our claims department pays out over $5 million in claims every month. If you need help finding other shops in your area, please give us a call.
Your towing service management did a good job. My daughter's car had to be towed 2x, first to a Jeep dealership, who said they couldn't look at it until October, and then a mechanic local to her, and they towed it again to that new location.

I had a Ford F150 with an eco-boost engine. All the timing chain and phasers went out at 41,000 miles. I had to wait and use a rental minivan for three weeks. Just so they could wait for an adjuster to come down and examine the parts before they would even order them, and then I had to wait for them to be approved and fix my truck. I thought that was a little too long.
I had CarShield for about eight years. I only had three claims, time and chain, water pump, and radiator reservoir. The dealership replaced parts. They said I needed replacing and I think they were just trying to get more money out of CarShield. I paid my deductible but it looks to me like they are the ones who were trying to make the money from you guys.

My experience with CarShield been a living hell, CarShield needs to evaluate there coverage it needs to cover more items on our vehicles much as we pay on a monthly basis. My vehicle wouldn't start and I had to pay $1024 and CarShield didn't cover anything it's a ripoff.
Because I had to come out of my pocket for the repairs CarShield needs to change their coverage meaning they need to cover more items on these vehicles.
