A couple of months after I signed up, I almost cancelled. Car shield reps worked with me to find the right coverage that better suited my needs that fit with my budget. I questioned my decision from time to time, all the way up until my transmission AND differential both gave out simultaneously. Over $8,000.00 that they covered. I had to pay almost $450.00 for the stuff that wasn't covered like fluids. Saved my A**! As long as you read your contract and know what to expect, Car Shield is a very good service.
I was called twice about my bill not gone through my credit card when I had a email from my bank showing that went through OK. So by the third time I had to tell the operator to recheck because it was paid. So I don't know why I was called when it was paid on time so looks like one department didn't know what the other department was doing
I appreciated the service I received from Car Shield (American Auto Shield). I had to pay a little extra than the deductible and the length of time was a little long, but everything else was GREAT! Thank you So Much Car Shield for you professionalism in taking care and replacing my transmission.
To cover costs that I would had to pay for myself if I did not have the Car Shield Warranty. My water pump (approximately $3,200) and now my transmission (approximately $4.400). Again, Thank you, Car Shield.

Called for info only not service. I thought I had to give up Car Shield on my 2006 Lincoln when it was 20 years old! Found out from Customer Service it's the miles not the years! Wow!

When I originally called I was given quotes for my 2 cars, I went ahead and signed up for one and needed to decide if we were going to keep the second one or not ( I was told that I could call back within a couple of weeks to accept the offer) When I called back to accept the offer, The price hat increased by $45 a month after your representatives came up with all kind of excuses ( non of which made any sense) NOT HAPPY

My car is a 2018 - Not "old", but certainly not "new".
It has 41,000 miles on it, because I don't drive much. Ice T kept drilling in my head to get Car Shield, and I love him... so I joined.
I was enrolled for 6 months. Something wacky happened to my car. Coolant started leaking from my car, but not on to the ground (where I could have detected a problem). It leaked into the engine. My car overheated on me, twice; Dashboard lights were flashing RED and the font was yelling at me to shut the car off.
I towed it to the local dealership. They did a two-day diagnostic on it. Turned out; I needed a whole new engine!
At 41,000 miles... I needed a new Engine?!? WHAT?!?
Car Shield picked up the bill. Total cost was just shy of $6,000.
I have recommended Car Shield to *SO* many people, ever since this incident. Friends, Family, Neighbors, Strangers... You name it! If I see a random person with their hood up and a puzzled look on their face, I recommend Car Shield.
I could not be more grateful for this Insurance. I will be a life-long customer of Car Shield.
There were a lot of transfers from one department to the next, I will say that. And because of that, I did need to repeat myself and why I was calling over and over. However, once I got to the right agent, my questions were answered quickly and easily and the conversation was smooth like butter

Messages that I received during the time I dealt with Car Shield I don't think their payments made it to Barclay's I called a couple of time to them and two other car dealers. They claimed they had not missed a payment. But I had a FINAL NOTICE two times when I personally paid the money for the payment. There were several salesman around but none seemed too enthusiastic to sell the car but I never talked to any but one and got a bigger storm..

They are a scam! You do not get what they advertise. They take your money then refuse to fix your car, or only pay a small part of it, but mostly don't pay for it. They advertise a rental car, forget that! And that is after your car sits in the shop 2 weeks with them not even calling the repair place! Stay away!

Nothing negative to report. I sold my car and no longer need coverage. Called customer service and they were able to help without making me jump through hoops. Took 5 minutes and they were courteous.
I only utilized the roadside assistance from my contract. Representatives were always helpful in expediting service providers and following up to make sure that my needs were met.
I purchased a used vehicle with 100k miles and wanted peace of mind that repairs wouldn’t exceed my budget.

This is the worst of the worst companies out there. Please save yourself money time and headache stay away from CarShield. They are a fraud I am surprised they have not been investigated. With a so called gold plan i ended up paying more money because I had CarShield. If you still have them cancel it immediately warn your family members coworkers neighbors stay away from this fraudulent company

My problem was taken care of once I paid for the diagnostic fee of less than $200 I was told by a car shield agent that I would get reimbursed for it come to find out I was misled so I am out of less than $200. Your agents need to know what will be reimbursed and what will not I live in Virginia the car was serviced in North Carolina that $200 was for my travel expenses
I was not too satisfied with your customer service. I paid almost a $200 diagnostic fee, but cannot get reimbursed for it.

I have been told for two months that a refund would be a mailed to me. I received an email two weeks ago stating that it was not delivered and I needed to update my address and I did immediately. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED UT I still get surveys to ask if I am satisfied.

Called three times to get my bill straightened out then I get letter saying you're going to cancel me if I don't make payments there's nobody believe me or listen to what I had to say but I'm on a set income I don't get paid weekly I get paid monthly hopefully after three times I got it straightened out finally but I'll find out come next bill

I took my 2004 jeep wrangler to my mechanic, because the check engine light was on, i was told that i needed an oxygen sensor for my jeep. And even though my mechanic called car sheild to see if i was covered and car shield said yes, so i went ahead and paid my mechanic in cash and was told thhat car shield would reinburse me for the cost of the oxygen senosor, but car shield told me that i would have to send the bill to another place and then wait for my money. Why is it that i would have to go through all this just to get my money, when the part was covered and already paid for
i was told to send a copy of the reciept to this other place and then wait for my refund , i don`t have a fax machine and would have to pay some place to fax the bill, why couldn`t car shield jut send me my refund after the mechanic was told that the oxygen sensor was covered . i`m only asking for my money that i already paid for the part

My vehicle has been at the repair shop for almost 3 weeks awaiting an authorization to begin the repairs and be reimbursed for the rental that I need.
They was only able to answer general questions since I’ve been waiting a decision from the underwriter.
