A couple of months after I signed up, I almost cancelled. Car shield reps worked with me to find the right coverage that better suited my needs that fit with my budget. I questioned my decision from time to time, all the way up until my transmission AND differential both gave out simultaneously. Over $8,000.00 that they covered. I had to pay almost $450.00 for the stuff that wasn't covered like fluids. Saved my A**! As long as you read your contract and know what to expect, Car Shield is a very good service.
I was called twice about my bill not gone through my credit card when I had a email from my bank showing that went through OK. So by the third time I had to tell the operator to recheck because it was paid. So I don't know why I was called when it was paid on time so looks like one department didn't know what the other department was doing
I have not had the opportunity to use Car Shield yet. We had it on our Ford PKUP and when husband passed away, I placed coverage on my Lincoln SUV in 2020. I certainly hope Car Shield will be there for me in the future if something happens.

I live in the Chicago area it was recently as you probably know in the minus figures for several days here in Chicago weatherwise. My car battery seem to be dead. I did not call your service. I didn't realize it included roadside service but I use the service that I do have, and they had to come out twice but it never dawned on me that I needed to get a new battery because mine was only one year old the third time it was minus like 3° out and my battery was dead again or my car was dead. I called another service that came out and they jumped it and advise me to bring it into a dealer or someone who does Auto Repair to be looked at. I investigated my car shield paperwork and realized that I could use a dealership here in Libertyville Illinois, which is the next town over. I was told that they would do a diagnostic test on my car get back to me. When they got back to me they told me that the battery casing was cracked and therefore the the liquid or the acid something was dripping out of it or leaking and that's why it kept dying. I was charged $200 for a new battery and over $200 in service fee, diagnostic test and taxes. I thought car shield would at least give me some sort of a discount on the battery and order the diagnostic test. I was shocked when I had to pay over $400 to pick my car up. I understand that batteries are not covered under this contract, but the fact that I used a company that was referred to me by your organization would give me a discount.
I am a single woman and hopefully this policy will cover anything major with my car, and I can trust that the work is being done by a reputable organization

Take for ever to approve the claim. Give hard time to the mechanic. I took it to the same mechanic and they asked her for too many proofs. It's a headache. I don't recommend anyone.

My 2011 Chevy Cruze needed a new turbo charger. I took it to my local Chevrolet dealer. They spent nearly 3 weeks just trying to get an approval from Car Shield to do the repairs. Car Shield adjusters either wouldn't return calls from the mechanic or would not show up, when promised. I tried calling Car Shield's customer service department. They would refer me to the adjuster at the company that actually pays for the repairs. Car Shield is only a broker, not an insurance company! They represent numerous car warranty insurance companies that actually provide extended warranty coverage. I was transferred from one department after another and got nowhere! I was at the mercy of an inefficient system that had no concern for the fact that I was without my car for 3 weeks. I finally had to threaten to have my attorney call them before they finally gave the dealership an approval to fix my car! They never sent an adjuster (they claimed was necessary)! The approval was given over the phone! I never got an apology or any attempt to provide any alternative transportation while I was stranded at home. Horrific experience and inexcusable behavior from a company that advertises themselves to be such a money saving, responsible, dependable, life saving service! Their advertising is a con job! They also charge nearly double the monthly fee than other car warranty providers!
Tip for consumers:
That Car Shield is not the warranty provider. They represent numerous insurance companies that actually provide coverage for your vehicle repairs. Therefore, you are paying nearly double what other car repair warranties cost! They have no concern about leaving you stranded until eventually approving your repairs.

After my truck went in the shop over three months ago, they work order was submitted to replace my turbo charger, which is covered under my policy. After it was approved, auto shield said that they would supply the turbo charger because they could get it cheaper. After it was delivered, it was determined that it was the wrong turbo charger, which is why it was probably cheaper. After it was returned and supposedly the right turbo charger was sent only half of the turbo charger was sent not as a complete part. This part was also returned, and after auto shield, realized that The estimate for the turbo charger that the mechanic requested they then sent out an adjuster after the fact. Numerous questions were asked about whether or not my vehicle was being used commercially or personally I had to supply statement over the phone. The question asked why I had a fifth wheel hitch in my truck and a fuel tank. I own a pick up truck to haul my fifth wheel camper and I have a 40 gallon fuel tank in my truck for fuel while in remote areas to fuel my generator and my truck. It was apparent to me that CarShield/AUTO auto shield was trying to get out, paying for the turbo charger and by doing this, it has taken over three months for the right parts to be supplied to the mechanic which when he received the correct turbo charger, the wrong actuator was sent and therefore he is still waiting on the correct part to finish the job. Like the title says, this has been a total freaking nightmare. Not to mention auto shield refused to pay any kind of storage fees or extra fees insured by the mechanic having to make numerous phone calls and spending hours on the phone trying to get the correct parts Again, TOTAL nightmare!
Each time I called everybody, I talked to only took notes and said that they would pass it on to the adjuster and that I would receive a phone call back within 24 hours which I never did any of the times that I called
Because when I signed up, it seemed like a pretty good deal to have that kind of coverage on my vehicle. Period

Well, I'm supposed to have the gold package although car was completed with With repairs all Car Shield Auto was going to pay was $69 and I paid almost $900 out of pocket and that is what the gold package

Your representative was knowledgeable about a payment plan I wanted to follow. I decided to go with his description of what was being offered and found it easier than what I was paying.
Talking to them was nice and easy lemon squeezy in my opinion. Not once did I get a run around. I asked a question and I got answered quickly. Nothing like that happens much today with some customer services if you ask me..
My vehicle is over 6 years old now and I plan to keep it until it dissolves into a rust pile. It's paid for and out of warranty. That says it all I think.

Customer service not (Justin) argumentative when asked to cancel policy without giving him a reason. Second time calling to cancel policy. Very disappointing.

Carshield is nothing but false advertisements and a scam. I have a newer car with low mileage and they still found a way to deny my claim. They make extra coverage sound good, but if you ever have to use them there are lots of loops they will have you jump through and stipulations they will use to make sure they don't help you with a dime. Do not let thus company rip you off. Also Vivica Fox and Ice T should be ashamed they are helping this place take advantage of people. Shame on all of you

I was having issues with the motorized divers side mirror on my 2015 Kia. Before I contacted a repair shop I called Car Shield to make sure that the issue was covered. I was told by the representative I spoke with that the repair would be covered minus my deductible. I made an appointment with the repair shop. Three days later, I contacted the shop because I hadn't heard anything. They told me that they were waiting for approval of the repair from Car Shield. So I called Car Shield again, only to be told by another representative that it was NOT covered. I asked why I was told two different things and I was cut off very sharply by "is there anything else I can do for you today" and a quick hang up.
I don't know who trains your representatives, but there are a couple of things that need to be covered with them. The first is to know their business and not provide customers with false information. Secondly, a little more respect when dealing with the customers who in the end are responsible for their pay.
No particular reason, but I am rethinking that decision and looking into some other type of protection. On top of that it seems as though there are only two shops in my area that even accept Car Shield. So the advertisement of taking you car to any repair shop is false. Oh, you can take it, but chances are you are going to have to pay for the repair yourself and then be reimbursed for anything covered.

Car shield sent me to a shop and got a diagnostic test done on my car and told the shop not to fix my because both problems was covered under a factory recall and the dealer fixed it free!
