Beware! If you purchase a book from this company they will sign you up for a subscription and will not reimburse you for the charges!
Like many others i wanted a little help with my work, so i decided to sign up for a subscription. However, it ended up being a horrible decision. It wasn't very helpful. I tried to cancel the membership for 2 months but they still kept charging my card. Not to mention i could not access any of the material during this time and it said i did not have a subscription anymore. YET MY CARD WAS STILL CHARGED. They did not offer me a refund and had nothing to say about why this was happening. DO NOT GET A CHEGG SUBSCRIPTION!
This company, like many other subscription service companies continue to charge until cancelled. I urge everyone to cancel their subscriptions now before they forget later and have the same unpleasant experience as me. Great revenue model Chegg.
Chegg sent me the wrong order and refused to expedite my textbook I did order so I could complete my assignments on time. I order my textbook as soon as I received the syllabus. She. I asked to speak to a supervisor for Nika, she told me she was the top and confirmed she was in fact Mrs. Chegg. They have lost my service. O starts. Do not recommend.
Purchased this subscription for some continuing education and asked 45 questions and received answers for about 42 of them. Unfortunately only 19 of the support items received were correct. Also all of the responses were stamped "expert approved". The next day I requested a refund and it was denied. Chegg told me to go grade their responses and provide with the correct answers. Chegg appears to be a scam. Do not waste your money
I have used chegg off an on for years, every time I cancel my account, a couple of months go by and then they start charging me again. They refused to give refunds because on their side there is 'no history of cancellation'. This is a reoccuring scam, Im guessing they wait two or three months and start charging you again, hoping most people don't check their statements. Additionally, the last couple of times I have used chegg, most of the help/answers have been wrong.
Be aware! Chegg double charges you for one monthly subscription and refuses to credit you a full refund. If you sign in with regular email and through apple hidden email or if you use two different devices, you will be charged twice because you create a hidden account. We have canceled hidden accounts twice in the past and after a few months charges popped up again and they continue to charge you. I cannot believe that Chegg is getting away for so long ripping off and stealing from college students. This is totally criminal and should be investigated!
They claim you can purchase an etextbook to KEEP. This is a complete lie. If I couldn't keep it, I would have purchased it from somewhere else! They make you pay a monthly subscription to access your textbooks and don't allow you to download any type of version of the etextbook. After looking through the rest of the reviews, I believe this company is a scam. I can't believe they have been around for so long and getting away with this nonsense.
This website used to be lit! Now it's just plain old lazy website scamming. Like how much I can't find anything about my topic, course, or even the question like before. I have to input the questions for the AI to verify my options. Before I would get questions back to back related to that same topic, now it's used less. Can't believe I spend $21 for this
The validity of answers only works around 80% of the time. You can not have it open on both your phone and laptop at the same time without them putting your account on hold, even if there is one person. Customer service is absolutely useless, I both texted the support number and called the support number trying to get my account reinstated as I had broken none of the community guidelines, and they both said they couldn't do anything and in a nice way told me more or less that it was my fault and that I should just know better next time. If you have the option to, absolutely do not use chegg, almost any other academic study site is better and I've had nothing but issues in my time with them.
It's seems like they just hire random tutors that don't know what the $#*! their talking about. I'm taking stats and probability and every question I post is first answered 4 hours late then completely $#*!ing wrong. Dropped from a 95% to a 78% in 2 weeks using this trash. I still do have time make back though thank for listening to my rant.
People will just randomly answer your questions, usually not filling the things you pointed out as important and there's no way to report them. The only way to contact support is using some phone number in UK. Like, really?
I recently got a subscription to what I thought would be a data bank of useful information. It turned out to be a whole lot of students like myself asking and answering questions. Once in a while you could receive an "Expert Opinion" if you can believe it. It was extremely confusing trying to sift through all the guesses. I subscribed to get help on an exam that I had previously taken with very little studying and I received a 60, I only scored a 72 using Chegg. I immediately contacted Chegg who immediately agreed to issue me a refund. The best thing I can say about Chegg is they do have prompt customer service through their Chat option. I am supposed to receive a refund within 5 business days. If I don't I will be updating my review
Got pop-ups saying "60/70% off subscription!" only to get to checkout and see no coupons applied. Called up and was told it was an issue on my end, so I grabbed my partner's computer, and using a different browser/internet connection, replicated the results that caused the pop-ups to offer a discount that doesn't get applied. Their only solutions after I pointed out the misleading advertising was to either pay the full price and trust they'd reimburse me or buy text-books which came with a free trial. Looking at the reviews in aggregate, these guys are extremely, extremely dodgy. Avoid at all costs.
Most answers on the platform are wrong. Out of 10 questions I checked on the site, 8 were incorrect. You used to get correct answers or links in the comments, but they disabled that section. Can't wait to cancel my subscription as their business model does not care about clients getting correct answers.
PS: Marking an answer as incorrect doesn't trigger any response from the company eg they still deduct the question from your monthly quota
The Good
It may give you some answer support sometimes.
The Bad
Sh*t service that half the time provides outright wrong and/or no actual explanation of process.
Expensive service that charges a lot for what it is; more expensive than competitors.
Incompetent safeguard system that will almost 100% guarantee suspend your account under false allegations of being a 'shared account.' Complaints are disregarded and while you wait days for your account to be re-enabled, you won't get credited back for the days stolen.
Final verdict; Sh*t company. Avoid at all costs.
It's not 2006 anymore. We have more than one way we access the internet. I've been locked out of my own account twice because they suspect I'm sharing my account. Are you guys that stingy for another $20? I have like 5 different devices i use for school, sorry if i had to move from my PC to my laptop to my phone or ipad etc. I have to wait at least 24 hours for them to get back to me now. This is ridiculous I hope there's another site with better support than this.
I always get at least 3 of my questions unsolved or solved in the wrong way. This issue has happened several times in my recent subscriptions and i tend to find the answers using similar websites like Chegg. I tried to contact Chegg through their e-mail but there's no response. Moreover, whenever i tend to give a low rated answer, someone will negotiate me until i prove them wrong. I have attached screenshots of some of my closed questions & wrong answers for evidence (one of them has not been answered since 11/23/2019). It has become a waste of money & time.
I have used chegg for over 3 years and never had any problem. Now for whatever reason anytime I use my account it gets flagged for suspicious activity by means of a shared account not once but twice in the middle of my exams. I reached out to the customer service help number and they could verify that my account was not shared and I had followed all the chegg guidelines. Despite this, there was "nothing they could do about my account" and that I would just have to wait 2 days. I've never been more disappointed in any other subscription like I have with chegg. I'm abiding by all the guidelines but yet I still am not able to use the account that I paid for. The customer service was horrible too, no one knew what they were talking about. All they do is read you the same list of chegg guidelines they send out when you contact customer service. I will never use chegg again after my last experience, it is not worth the money, time, and frustration. 0 stars
I tried asking about a bit advanced subject on multiple occasions and the answers I received on chegg were always wrong. I mean if we can't receive help on advanced subjects, there's no point in subscribing to this. Waste of money.
Answer: Half real half scam wil work for a day or 2 then lock you out
Answer: The monthly money is for an additional service. You can opt out of it at the time of your order. Supposedly. Check other reviews. Many of them say they were still charged after canceling the service. My best suggestion is to stay away from Chegg if at all possible.
Chegg has a rating of 1.2 stars from 457 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Chegg most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free trial. Chegg ranks 106th among Textbooks sites.
