I purchased a VW Tiguan from this garage under six months ago.
The car has since developed significant faults with the clutch, gearbox, CD player and electric windows. Under the Sale of Goods Act, the garage is legally obligated to prove the faults were not there at the time of purchase, it is not down to the consumer to prove this. The garage is then legally responsible to rectify the issue if they cannot prove this, or an independent garage finds the fault was there at the time of purchase.
This garage, instead of dealing with the situation with decent customer service and dialogue, elected to send me a letter from a bargain basement, low tier, £250 pa subscription, motor trade legal firm. Their argument, amusingly so, was that the car was purchased 'almost' six months ago, as if the law will retreat at this prospect. Bully tactics which will be futile.
