They have a maintenance man that 1 is all over the blonde headed front desk clerk. 2 is a tier 3 sex offender. 3 lives on the property as part of his parole. 4 is a violent sex offered 5 should not be around your children when you have to stay at the motel. I will be sure to spread the word on this issue until he is removed from the property. There is no excuse for this kind of person being in the hotel business.
Made a reservation for a room at the MainStay Suites Greensboro approximately 2 weeks before my arrival. Arrived there in the evening and was told that no room was available. I received no advance notification in spite of them having my phone number and email address. No effort was made by the hotel staff to find me replacement accommodations. When I arrived there was no one at the front desk. I rang the bell and yelled hello and no response. I called the hotel number and someone finally appeared.
We are long time members of Choice Hotels and have always been pleased with the accommodations and price. We just experienced our first big disappointment at the Comfort Inn in Cornwall. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, beds were clean. Everything else left much to be desired! Building is badly in need of updating, rooms are small and cramped, parking not great, even the lamps were outdated, not working properly. We will not stay there again.
Confusing bait and switch policies, no helpful customer service after repeated phone calls, no supervisor available to solve my issue when the website did not honor the coupon code they promoted... its not worth the headache to try booking with them again.
One of my favorite hotels is in their network, but I only book through the hotel desk and never through this service. SOO frustrating
I never write reviews but this one is necessary. We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Regina this month. When I received my credit card statement there was an extra $25 charge. I called the hotel to inquire. They said we stole a pillow. We did not. I said there must have been a mix up in housekeeping. She basically said no you stole it, we will take the charge off your card but if your ever staying in Saskatoon again you are not allowed to stay here. I'm mind blown. Count your pillows when you arrive and when you leave because you just might be treated like a thief if you don't. I won't stay at any comfort inn again. The rooms are dingy and disgusting. The only thing this place had going for it was a patio door.
Choice will not give you a refund no matter what your situation is. I wish I saw these reviews before I booked. I had to cancel an entire trip because of an unexpected financial reason and they were not sympathetic. I'm now out $200 during a time I desperately need it back. Now there's going to be an empty room sitting there on a night it will be very easy to fill up. The hotel is right next to a huge sporting event that's happening that night. These people are thieves.
First visit 2 weeks ago we walked in to a room that had a bathtub with 4 inches of water and a dripping faucet. This time the bathroom ceiling tiles are bowed from water damage and the vent fan is hanging down. Room keys demagnetized after one day and the (rude) manager lectured me about having the card to close to my cellphone (which it never was).
Cancelled reservation 3 weeks ago and they charged me this morning. Front desk was rude and they plan to just steal the money. I would be very wary of dealing with these people. They lie and cheat at every turn.
Booked through Choice Hotel website. Confirmation email they sent us had the wrong address. Hotel clerk said this happened a lot. We ended up spending extra $50 in taxi/uber charges to get to the right hotel and didn't get to bed until 1 AM. The company has not been responsive to our concerns about their lack of competence. If you book through their website, be careful. Better yet, book with a different hotel chain.
My husband and I stayed at the Quality Inn on Wolf River Blvd in Germantown TN two nights ago. That hotel used to be just ok for one night but now it's awful. Our room was filthy. It was so obvious that the only thing the so-called cleaning people did was change out the sheets (I hope) and leave clean towels. The room had a bad smell right off, kind of a urine smell, but hard to be sure. The floors were dirty, there was dirt and debris in the corners and along the baseboard. The vinyl floor was actually sticky in some areas. Yuck. There was hair in the sink, the knob was broken off in the refrigerator, no coffee supplies but only a dusty one-cup coffee maker. There were no cups of any kind. My husband had to go downstairs and ask for some. There's no way I would've used the shower. We will NEVER stay there again. The only reason we did was because we get a really good corporate rate for all Choice Hotels through our insurance company. NEVER AGAIN
I left eye glasses at the hotel. I paid $50 to have them shipped, after providing photos to the front desk. They shipped me the wrong glasses (mine were ladies' sunglasses and they sent me men's prescription glasses) and then proceeded to lose mine. Company would do nothing to make up for the error of completely stunned and obviously negligent staff. Had to buy new prescription sunglasses costing me another $150. Nobody cares! No accountability for hiring stupid employees. I will sleep in my car before I stay at a choice hotel again.
Awful customer service - told to check out early due to a total power outage at hotel and refund for 2 nights would be given. Now hotel refuses to issue refund, management doesn't reply to contact and choice hotel customer service are useless
Avoid all choice hotels - will never use again
I booked a room at a Choice Hotel through their web site. When I received the confirmation email I noticed it was for two weeks later. I immediately called customer service and was told that there was nothing they could do and I would have to pay for this room. This seems like fraud since I put in the dates I wanted and somehow they were changed (anybody else have this problem, maybe class action law suite). I will not be anywhere near this area on these dates so why do I have to pay for a room that I cannot use? It seems like Choice Hotels is trying to the internet discount web sites but have gone farther with changing dates to times when their hotels are not busy and charging customers for the rooms (fraud?).
They condone certain behaviors at hotels that should not be allowed for sanitary and safety reasons they lie they take your money and then they make up lies about giving it back this company is the worst
We recently stayed at this "Choice" hotel for a wedding. This was the most disgraceful example of this hotel grouping. The hallways had peeling paint and large cracks in the concrete. The front desk associate was the "most" unprofessional. The room phone did not work and could not be fixed for 3 days. There were numerous families living in the rooms. The only thing I can say to their benefit was that the beds and the tub were clean. I will never trust another Choice Hotel.
This company is the worst point system Choice Hotels. This company will rip you off from your money when purchasing points. Pay attention to your points first before buying more points. What happen to me was I seen an amount of 7,000 per night I had that amount on my balance so I decide to buy another 7 to book for two nights. Once I returned to book the two nights. They were now asking 14,000 points per night and charge me $160 after I just purchase $85 for 7,000 cause it was original 7,000 per night. I had figured out what they did. The more points you have the more they raise the point per night. I really like Radisson Rewards hope they come back. Everyone please pay attention to your points before booking or buying additional points.
We had an awful experience at this location. The manager harassed us from the very beginning. First, I was berated by him for not picking up the phone and calling for service correctly. Then he was trying to make me pay cash for the pet fee instead of using a card, I had booked on Priceline. I didn't want to stay after that, but my husband suggested we go to dinner and it would be fine. We got back after dinner and my autistic son took our dog out before bed the manager asked him for the room number. He didn't know he just remembered which door it was. The manager proceeded to chase him and pounded on our door at 9:45 P.M. My husband was woken up and answered the door to have the manager ask if we had a pet, which he knew and we paid the pet fee. He then insisted my husband show him, my son. It was a very disturbing experience and we left immediately after. We did not stay the night and it has been impossible to get rectification.
I cancelled my reservation in Greenville, SC within 30 minutes of booking it. I received a cancellation confirmation number and an email acknowledging the cancellation. They still deducted the money out of my account ahs have refused to return it for 6 weeks. It took 4 phone calls and 4 emails for this company to even acknowledge that they were wrong. They initially tried to give me "points" instead of the money the took from me. I still have not heard from the last email I sent almost a week ago. This company is very difficult to deal with.
I checked in on August 22 to Choice Hotels in Dry Ridge and was suppose to stay 4 nights however the room was not up to par. I did speak to customer service and they came in, threw the sheets around, yelled, gave us attitude, slammed the door in our face while we were talking and told us "if you don't like it, leave". I went to check out 20 mins later and they told me I had to pay for the whole night. I did attempt to call corporate or a manager from the hotel to explain the situation so I didn't have to pay and they then told me since I was checked out I had to leave the hotel and could not be on the premises. I have never been treated like this in a hotel ever and I travel frequently. The attitude, customer service, cleanness and service was absolutely awful.
They have the worst policies ever, customer service people don't know what they are talking about. They give wrong information to the guests. And they do not give any points to a friends and family or employee discount even though you are a choice members. And I think that's one of the worst policy they have. Employees who sign up guests every single day, they don't get a single points if they stay in other hotels. That is ridiculous.
We booked a room after looking for multi days that would fit my family of 7 we made the 5 hr drive to the first day of our vacation. Enjoyed the hiking and climbing and then went to check in that night, we then are told no sir we can not offer a room for 7 this is not the first time choice hotels have done this, being my family was exhausted from all the hiking and climbing from the last several hrs I had no choice but to spend some of our extra money on another room just so we could all get some rest. When I attempted to contact the company on this they refused to reconcile the issue.
Had a guaranteed reservation at sleep Inn Macon Ga. Traveled from IL 13 hours on the road. Had a emotional support pet with me. Desk clerk said no more pet rooms you are not staying here leave where You stay is your problem not mine now leave. I left and called Choice and asked for help and received help finding another pet friendly room. Choice knows that I showed at the Macon location but they don't care they are charging twice for the same night. They know they are wrong but they don't care they are a terrible scum sucking company.

When I need help with canceling a hotel all they could tell me was they would put a claim into the hotel directly. And I should hear something within 24 to 48 hours. I tried to cancel the hotel approximately 2.5 weeks advance of my arrival. I had a family emergency come up where my father was having his leg amputated and I needed assistance in getting my hotel reservation either canceled or to get a voucher for another time. Choice Hotels could you absolutely nothing for me and just kept saying I would hear from the hotel. I never heard anything from either one! And was out almost $300. Don't waste your time or money with this app. I will go back to using hotels.com.

Less than 1 star. Toilet seat falling off. Shower rod falling down. Plumbing fixtures all loose in shower. Rust and mold in bathroom. Smoke smell in non-smoking room. Furniture very old. Clock radio broken. Dust everywhere. Some lights didn't work. Breakfast tasted horrible.(no one out of a party of 4were able to finish breakfast)
I participated in the promotion for booking 2 nights to redeem a $50 Amazon Gift Card. I actually booked more than 4 nights during my cross country road trip. I never received the $50 Amazon Gift Card. The first time I called was a few weeks after the redemption. The customer service rep told me it takes 4 to 6 weeks for the card to the delivered. I called back today after more than 6 weeks, the new customer service rep told me the redemption department told him the card was delivered within a week of the redemption and the $50 Amazon Gift Card has already been redeemed and was not able to provide a tracking number for the mail. I told him that was impossible since nobody can steal my mail. My mail slot goes directly into my house. He said there was nothing more he can do. I ended the call telling him they just lost a big customer to their Choice Hotels chain due to this SCAM!
They frequently have promotions advertising if you meet certain criteria you will get one free night's stay. That is deceptive at best. I more than met at least one of the promotions--staying longer at each place than the minimum required. I got 5000 bonus points. The minimum required for one free night is 8000 points. Most require well in excess of 10,000 points. Thank you Choice for this promotion. It did not get me a free night. It got me at best 5/8 of a free night and likely far less.
Tip for consumers:
The loyalty program is not very good.
You can't split points which they don't tell you. If you purchase points on points.com and take up to 48 hours to post. They charge my credit card for a whole 2 weeks double payments I have to get in contact with my bank because they're overnight auto pay was hitting me for more money. Smh it's a lot of cons to this. You really better off just going through the hotel save a lot of hassle
