I received the kit within a week of my doctor ordering it. It was very easy to use and the instructions put in simple terms. It was also easy to return the sample.
ColoGuard is a scam. Sounds great: you send a stool sample in a cup vs. undergoing a more intensive colonoscopy. The problem is that ColoGuard isn't accurate. Another problem is that many insurance companies will not allow subscribers to get another test the same year or even up to a 10-year period if they have had a ColorGuard test. Skip this test, get a real colonoscopy and take care of your health. This is just a scam to help insurance companies keep more $ from premiums: it's an excuse for insurance companies not to cover colonoscopies. The fact that ColoGuard doesn't provide any helpful data (e.g., if proteins or blood is found) demonstrates this is not a serious test. I won't be surprised if there is a class action lawsuit in the future for ColoGuard. For now, whoever cooked up this scheme is laughing all the way to the bank. And don't believe their nonsense that a colonoscopy is covered after a positive ColoGuard test result--it's not true. You are basically giving up your right to a covered colonoscopy (normally a wellness benefit that is 100% covered) by getting this ridiculous test that is often inaccurate and doesn't provide any health info whatsoever.
All this test is good for is a scare tactic, whether it be a positive or negative it could be false, the only good thing is it'll scare you to have a colonoscopy to find out what the real story is. Save yourself time, grief and money and just have a colonoscopy. You're sedated, it's painless, and it's the only accurate way to know the state of your colon.
Tip for consumers:
All the false positives or negatives this test has, It's useless.

Had to get a colonoscopy, and it was negative, no polyps, no cancer. Cologuard result was a false positive
causing me two months of anxiety thinking I had cancer...so regardless of how the Cologuard test results come back you still have to verify with a colonoscopy.
Word to the wise! Do NOT do Cologuard! A few months ago I did it at my physician's request. I got a call from my doctor saying I had a positive result and needed a colonoscopy. I have been a complete wreck for two months. I probably drove my husband insane. I went today and got a colonoscopy and I am free and clear for 10 more years. I wish I would've read the reviews before I did it because they are terrible. I'm going to live! Do yourself a favor and just get the real thing and save yourself the stress. Money making scammers!
Just get a colonoscopy, you get the results right away. With that "convenient but useless" test I waited 2 weeks to get the results. Whereas a colonoscopy gives you the results right away and the Gastroenterologist explains to you the results and follows up with you. With regard to Cologuard the results are far away to be exact and, if, they come out positive you get the news from your GP's receptionist without ethics. The you will have to make an appointment for a colonoscopy …. It is a total waste of money for Social Security, and it may create a great deal of stress in the patient.
So I decided to use this. Quick, ez. While their claim of detecting about 92% of positives, what they DON'T say is that 90+% are false positives! I verified this 3x.
Only up side, my false positive prompted me to geta REAL test!
Received a kit last week which I didn't order nor did my physician. It is now resting in the trash can. Seems more like a scam than a benefited exam test.

When using Cologuard as a preventive method instead of Colonoscopy it is certain that if the result is positive and you need a colonoscopy for sure, this colonoscopy will not be covered by insurance and must be paid in full by the insured. Insurance only covers preventive tests and does not diagnose them.
Look, this test worked. I cannot deny it and I'm thankful. But…. Don't be lazy. Especially if this is your first ever colonoscopy test. The problem I have is time to correct. The test, time to review and getting the results is 2-3 weeks you just wasted.
Let's say you test positive for cancer cells on the test. Now you have to talk to your Dr, get insurance approval and have to have a Colonoscopy anyway so as much as I appreciate the work Cologuard put forth to find the Cancer results, take the time to do it right at age 48-50 at latest and get a full colonoscopy not just cologuard. A full colonoscopy can save your life. My wife wanted to do cologuard cause she thought all would be normal…. Now we have to deal with a peach sized tumor and hope for the best.
First of all this test is ridiculous. You can't poop too much because they don't put enough fixative in there. I ask you, how can one regulate and measure the size of their dump before pooping in a bucket?
That's what happened to me. I didn't even poop that much, but they told me just today, that I had to resend my sample. I was told that they could send me a new kit and if I poop too much, I could rinse that container out, let it dry and try again?!? I said hell no! I'm not gonna poop in a bucket or pinch it off to get the right size dump. What a fiasco. I wonder how little old people can do this? I'm sure that they can't! You can take your take your test and stick it where the sun doesn't shine. They had better not charge my insurance for that. And, I would have loved to add photos of the size of my dump in that bucket for reference!
Tip for consumers:
Don't bother... This test is ridiculous!

I got this and my insurance refused to cover it. It was expensive and gave me no information and I had to get a colonoscopy anyway that I had to pay for because of the cologuard. Before you do it research it cause if it gives a false test the insurance won't see it as preventative. I ended up paying out over 3000 dollars before it was done. Just get a colonoscopy and be done
I got the test because it was recommended by my primary physician. IT TELLS YOU NOTHING EXCEPT POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE. It came back POSITIVE so I need to get a colonoscopy. I called Colonguard because the stationary said "We detect 97 percent of colon cancers". That means when they identify cancer, they know which cancer they are detecting. But, they will not tell you anything. That is because they could easily miss something that could cost you your life or cause you to undergo late stage treatment. That would give the patient a claim, resulting in a lawsuit. I got a Senior V.P. Of my insurance company on the phone. I explained that I had formerly owned a hospital. Based on my experience, the test is worthless for anyone with any type of colon cancer history, known or unknown. My advice is to get a colonoscopy. Make certain it is performed by a competent doctor.
Tip for consumers:
As I stated, this is a waste of time and your insurance company's money. If ANYTHING comes back positive, you and/or your doctor cannot find out what they found. When my doctor handed me the positive results, he said his patients were very unhappy they could not find out the type of cancer. I called them and they refused to tell me anything. Frankly, I am very surprised insurance will cover this. ANY positive results means you have to get a colonoscopy.

These people are worse than used car salesmen! 3-5 emails AND texts per day- even after opting out of both. Returned the kit unopened & now I'm getting notices I need to redo my sample as there was an error with my sample. I NEVER OPENED THE BOX! God help you if you agree to the "free", easy return, insurance covered cologuard. Was only going to cost me $698 WITH my insurance! No thank you!
After multiple blocks for cologuard I received the kit.
No, no, no,no. My insurance company and doctors have been alerted by me.
I wouldn't consider this as a screening option for sure, I won't pay. Scam, scam. Scam.
It took several weeks to receive the kit and then I had to wait to do the test because you have to have 3 days to get it back to them and there were several holidays and weekends that I had to work around. The test came back positive. It was another several weeks before I could get in to take a colonoscopy and an EGD that both came out negative. I've got a perfectly healthy digestive tract. All in all, it was a 3 month process. Oh yeah, my insurance paid for Colonguard, but then didn't pay as much on the colonoscopy and EGD. Don't bother with this!
My insurance did not cover the test. The company, who makes the cologuard test is Exact Science. They lie to your physician about the out of pocket cost to the patient. I have had to send in an appeal to my insurance which was denied, and make countless phone calls and ended up with an over $300.00 out of pocket cost. And the test isnt even 100% accurate. Exact Science is an unethical organization.
I rcvd my kit about two weeks ago and Cologuard has blown up my phone with calls and texts. I came here to see if anyone else has experienced relentless hounding and apparently I'm not the only one. I plan to return the box to Cologuard unopened.
Had a positive cologuard review in December and finally got in for my colonoscopy and was found to have 7 polyps which were removed and also I have hemorrhoids which is probably why my test was positive. The polyps are going in for biopsy. Go for the colonoscopy because if you may have polyps and get a normal result, polyps could be missed and turn cancerous and that is wasting valuable time. The prep really isn't that awful for a definite piece of mind.
This company spams me night and day and worse CALLS me non-stop.
It's a SCAM. They say insurance will pay, but if they don't they want you to pay over $650 for their stupid test. You could get a virtual colonoscopy for that price.
But the non-stop calling using robo-numbers - I PRAY some attorney sues the living pants off this company.
Tip for consumers:
Horrible company.
False positive which stressed me out until I could get an appointment to have a colonoscopy performed. A huge waste of money which is making some awful individuals rich!
When you get the box put it in the garbage can everything they say to you is a lie it's all about the $2,800 they're going to fill your insurance company and then the results will always always be the same unconclusion that means your doctor is going to still send you to another doctor to have the procedure done so save your copay and put the box in the garbage can that's the only thing the box is good for they will call you and call you and send you trash in the mailbox to make your life a living hell and then it's all comes down to unconclusion if you want my advice do not do not do not even open the box put it right in the garbage can
Tip for consumers:
Color Guard is a big lie lie on the face of the Earth all they want is the 2800 they're going to build your insurance company I may not be able to spell the company's name but you know it when you see the box at your front door put it in the garbage can

The big scam the Box
When I took the test they were 96% accurate, Every doctor explained to me it's more like 96% inaccurate. I tested positive, did a colonoscopy only to find out I was clean.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. AVOID USING IT
Took the Cologuard test and it came back positive. Being positive, a follow up colonoscopy was needed. The wait time was several months, and finally my appointment day arrived. Prepping for the procedure IS the worst part of this test. The test itself was easy-peezy, guess what, no polyps, no cancer, clean bill of health. Cologuard did prompt me to schedule a colonoscopy, which I should have done to begin with. If hemorrhoids are present, there's a good possibility you're going to have a false positive Cologuard result.
So please, pass the Cologuard test and just have the colonoscopy, it's painless and accurate. Save yourself the worry and anxiety of this useless Cologuard test...you're going to have to have a colonoscopy regardless as to how your Cologuard test comes back as the results are just as bad for false negatives as false positives.
Tip for consumers:
save yourself the grief and just have a colonoscopy to begin with.

Two years went by had my regular interval colonoscopy... Complete Bowel Healthy!
Dont trust these scammers!
I decided to use Cologuard during Covid, since I couldn't get to the doctor. It came back positive. I was terrified. I had to wait 7 months to get a colonoscopy, because of Covid, even though I told them my test was positive (every doctor says "those tests aren't accurate"). I just had a colonoscopy, and it was negative. I had absolutely no polyps, nothing! The Cologuard test just stressed me out, and it is not accurate at all, as many doctors told me. Don't make the same mistake I did. Get the real test done... do a colonoscopy. The prep is awful, but you're asleep for the procedure, and it's over in 15-20 minutes.
I used Colorgaurd last summer due to parent being diagnosed with colon cancer. I paid $600 out of pocket and recieved the test by mail ordered by my healthcare provider. My healthcare provider who ordered the test reported that they hadn't received the results. I had two appointments with my healthcare clinician who reported that they still had not received the results. Last October my healthcare clinician who ordered the test relocated and I still do not have the results. An expensive waste of money!

DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT! Check their website & you'll see THEY report 13% FALSE POSITIVE rate. So what good is it but to take your money, scare you & cause you the stress of worrying about the possibility that you may have cancer, then cost you more money because insurance won't pay for your colonoscopy due to a "positive" cologuard result. Have your health provider use ANY another means to determine if you're at risk and need further tests or procedures.
