We love the school Nathaniel Ross take his time. He learn better. He meets a lot of friends. He ask teacher Question. And Live Class he can interact with his teacher and classmates. I recommend everyone.
It's been great! Layne is much happier! We get to learn together. As she learns I can learn to help and be there for her achievements and I know all about what she's learning and know just what class she is struggling with.
We have not had great experiences with other online/virtual schools in Wyoming and our local school district. WYCA has been a wonderful option for our kids! Our kids love it and are doing great! Would recommend it for any family looking for an online public school with live teacher classes and extra curricular activities and clubs!
We love to hear that you're so pleased with Wyoming Connections Academy, Christy! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! ~Alexis
Since I have enrolled Dixie in Connections, I have seen a major difference in her... she has progressed without having any stress factors, and her Teachers have been Great when it comes to helping her...
Thank you for leaving your review, Merla! We're thrilled to hear that your student isn't stressed at our school! ~Alexis
Connections Academy arbitrarily withdrew my student after just four days of enrollment due to incomplete introductory assignments. Despite receiving only one warning email on the second day, I was not informed of the official withdrawal until 13 days later. The school has since denied me access to my child's account, preventing me from verifying if the assignments were actually incomplete. This decision, made by my child's math teacher rather than administrative personnel, has caused significant disruption and stress for our family. The lack of communication, transparency, and fairness in Connections Academy's handling of the situation is deeply troubling. Their communication practices are inadequate, and their policies on assignment completion and withdrawal lack transparency and fairness. Additionally, the school must ensure parents have access to their child's account and educational records at all times. The arbitrary withdrawal has compromised my child's education and highlighted the need for urgent improvements in the school's administrative practices and policies. Sharing our experience aims to raise awareness of these issues and advocate for better practices and policies in online education.
Hi Rachel, We're sorry to hear that you've had such a negative experience with our school. Each of our schools has specific requirements for students to remain enrolled, which are included in the entrance agreement when you confirm enrollment. If you would like us to have a Family Enrollment Counselor reach out to you to assist, please email us at community@connectionsacademy.com. ~Alexis
We love our teachers Especially Ms. Lopez, she always make sure that her student's hardwork is appreciated. Robin from Admin dept, Yangka, Lisa and Rachel from Enrollment, Cassandra from Technical dept to all Councilors Lisa and Jennifer who helped us through the process smoothly and been really communicative and helpful with all our inquiries. We appreciate you all!
Hi Cristina, Thank you for the great review! We're thrilled to hear that our staff members have had such a positive impact on your family! ~Alexis
Our boys are excelling academically and our family has never been happier. We're able to be apart of their education and spend more time together as a family. The teachers are helpful and really care about their students success. I highly recommend this program.
We have had our children enrolled in Connections Academy for the last 3 school years. The first year is an adjustment to the new learning environment and takes time, don't give up. Give you and your child time to adjust. The teachers are very helpful and encouraging. After the adjustment period our kids have thrived and had time to pursue their interests out side of school to prepare for their future and to enjoy being a kid. There are still events that they can participate in with their fellow students and plenty of opportunity to learn in a safe environment. I no longer am worried that today might be the day that I get a call or text about another school lockdown involving my kids. Connections Academy was a great option and choice for my family, I recommend it to anyone looking for a different learning experience for their kids.
We have had a wonderful first year at GACA! My child is thriving in High School, enjoys the live lessons, loves all her teachers, and has made several new friends! She also made Honor Roll first semester, and is heading in the same direction this semester.
Connections is not a good school. I would give now stars, but I HAD to rate SOMETHING. While they claim they are flexible and understanding, DO NOT DARE get behind on your work because they will HOUND you and threaten truancy VERY QUICK! My kids got behind, while yes significantly, I was just diagnosed with cancer and while they SEEMED understanding, would NOT let my boys catch up because they were "so behind". While they were only talking about my one child, they unknowingly unenrolled my younger child, who looked forward to a speech class every Thursday WITHOUT warning. I called Connections and talked to a representative online who was able to look at all of the email and did confirm that they did NOT mention my other child EVER. I recommend Astravo.org they have FLEXIBLE. Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Weaver need to be replaced by mor Compassionate people. Cold hearted. Transfer you students to ASTRAVO, now! They are AMAZING!
Hi Calluna, We always aim to provide a high-quality education to our students, and we're sorry to hear that wasn't your experience. We will share your feedback with our administrators. ~Alexis
Answer: Work at your own pace is the biggest lie out there. Supplies are usually quick to arrive though.
Answer: That is a very good question Dee. We were drawn in with that promise as well. They use exampmes of child athletes and child actors (at least they did when we were going through their website looking for schooling options) as examples of how flexible their program is but we found it to be a very different experience.
Answer: Do not put your child in this program i hate it i switched to connexus i could get more time in the gym and work out i used to spend five hours in the gym in normal school but now im only limited to one hour a day because i have so much work.the teachers never respond and its horrible they dont help me and when im at gym they call then i cant i pick up so they call my parents who are at work and will get in trouble if on there phones. I hate tis school and everyone in it and your kids will to so DO NOT DO IT! 1111
Answer: Attendance is more important to the school keeping it's Charter, than making sure a student is truly on track academically. The School has no communication skills, which is why it probably attracts lazy teachers.
Answer: I find that people take the time to vent about bad experiences rather than take the time to write reviews for good experiences. If things are working, why scour the internet for reviews. Every kiddo/parent will have a different experience with Connections Academy. Like any school program, it's not going to be right for everyone, not everyone will like a teacher, or administration or class... It's a rigorous school, not a homeschool program with lots of flexibility and curriculum that can be changed. It's working for my 7th grader, but it is hard and we wouldn't be enrolled if he didn't have me to sit by him 80% of the time. Otherwise he's getting an excellent education in Oregon and we love the teachers.
Answer: Yes, you can do you your at any time. I start at 5:00am and finish at 11:00am.
Answer: Maybe once a month. The student might get a phone call from his or her homeroom teacher on a monthly basis. Other than that, unless you or the student contact the teacher individually, then the interaction is done as a whole in the Live Lesson rooms. And so much outside stuff goes on during Live Lessons, the students do not get a lot out of them.
Answer: Hi Tina, Teachers schedule LiveLesson sessions (usually one per subject per day), and other work is done independently. Teachers are available outside of the virtual classroom for more support if needed. Outside of the LiveLesson sessions, work is done independently, and students can typically complete their schoolwork any time of the day, any day of the week. ~Alexis
Answer: Hi Malorie, Teachers schedule LiveLesson sessions (usually one per subject per week), and other work is done independently. Teachers are available outside of the virtual classroom for more support if needed. In general, there is no set time to log in outside of the LiveLesson sessions, so students can typically work any time of the day, any day of the week.
