I contacted this company regarding a rebate that was promised. I was informed at purchase that instructions for claiming this rebate would be sent. Those instructions were never sent, nor provided anywhere on receipt. In the order confirmation it specifically stated a follow up email with instructions for claiming the rebate would be provided. When I contacted they refused to pay out the rebate and said the time had lapsed, told me it was in the hands of the retailer. There was no expiration documented on the rebate that was advertised.
What does this company have to lose other than what was promised? Money paid out 3 months later is in fact a better deal for them. They simply hope customers don't remember or both to figure out how to claim the rebate so they don't actually have to pay it!
The retailer meanwhile takes no responsibility for not having fulfilled its obligations in providing a rebate instruction. I'm left with no further option other than to dispute this charge.
