Tried to login on phone and iPad to do taxes. It will not allow you to do anything unless you use a laptop or computer. Not convenient at all.

It's exactly what it claims to be, no more, no less! I don't understand the review (jorgeS.) wrote, what did he expect?

Credit karma still does not update information correctly, i have numerous time to correct something they put on my account. I HAVE never applied for something from COMMITY BANK GAME? Dont know who they are but its there! I did alll the leg work to correct this, even contacted commity bank game. They agreed its not me, sent them a copy of letter I requested, and they CREDIT KARMA still doesn't remove it! Also they ding your account with all the store credit cards from years ago that either closed, or you yourself requested years ago to not use. You can contact the credit bureaus yourself concerning this, but CREDIT KARMA never updates information correctly! THEY ONLY PUSH UNWANTED CARDS, INSURANCE COMPANYS ETC! Also your payments to your accounts are never correctly updated. They SELL YOUR INFORMATION! Even though they say no? Even car payments that were always on time, with extra payments never show. My loan almost paid in full they show like i just started. THIS IS NOT MY FIRST TIME! I HAVE PAID 4 vehicles off before it was due. Be careful with there scores! ALSO THEY MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH COMMITY BANK GAME! Because its showing up on alot of peoples accounts that never applied asked or know who they are.

I have been using Credit Karma for about 10 years and initially they proved to been a great resource for improving your credit rating. It's true as others have noted that the credit score is far from accurate but it does provide an indication of any negative or positive changes to your score. Sadly it seems that things have changed as I recently decided to apply for a line of credit using their LendingTree link. Within minutes of filling in my name address phone # I received a number of phone calls. I selected a broker and went through their list of questions, at the end of this they said they would pull my credit report and asked if that was ok? I asked them how are you able to do that as I had not given you my SS#. The reply was we have it, it was sent with the initial inquiry! How was that even possible, I had never ever had any dealings with LendingTree in the past and I never supply my SS# online to anyone for any reason, even in the initial application to Lending Tree they do not ask for a social#. So how could all these brokers get my SS#? Obviously CreditKarma has my SS# to enable them to do regular soft pulls on my credit etc but I have never given them permission to distribute that # to anyone.

I sent CK an email asking if they gave out my SS# to all of these brokers and they replied with a cut and paste paragraph stating they never give out my info to anyone they are not affiliated with. This implies that they gave it to LendingTree as they make commissions on every successful refi, mortgage, therefore affiliated? I sent two follow up email to CK asking if they gave out my SS# without my permission and received zero response. So my question and warning to you is has anyone else had this happen to them? It's very strange that a company that is supposed to help you improve your credit would give out sensitive information that could actually harm your credit.

Now before you say that mortgage company need your SS#, I fully understand that but isn't that my decision to make? After all I want to vet the companies that I give my personal details to instead of just giving out my SS# to half a dozen unknown entities. I would seriously be interested in hearing if anyone else has had this happen to them.

I can't understand why they just can't give you a FICO score which is what every lender actually uses

Need a better system.
December 16, 2021

Credit karma is the worse I and closing my
Account due to unsatisfactory help. My account is
-1000. Because I didn't receive a email from them
Until yesterday due to a dispute in November. My
Email was full but they didn't take measures to
Sending anything my mail for a response. I just
Cleaned out my mailbox 2 days ago but received
A new email from them yesterday. Now they not
Trying to fix the negative when I already went
Through a whole mess with a car place that
Scammed me for my money. (was sold a 0)
Let's not talk about there scores aren't even
Accurate because most people don't look at
Those scores which they look for a whole nother
Score when it comes down to looking into loans
And how to better credit. I don't have credit as is
And this is by far the worse company. They quick
To close a dispute and not really give time or
Effort to look into.
ONCE THEY CLOSE A DISPUTE THE CLAIM THEY CANT REOPEN. Which ISNT FAIR BECAUSE THERES OTHER MEANS OF COMMUNICATION.
NOW EVERYONE CAN SEE MY MEANS OF PROOF.
**the last email is all they have to offer. SO NOW MY ACCT IS -1000. IM NOT PAYING $#*! UNTIL ITS RESOLVED WITH A HIGHER AUTHORITY.

Credit Karma's business model is made through commissions paid to them by companies for finding new customers for those companies. They use a different credit score method that lenders don't use so there's the reason for the wide difference in credit score. For this reason I don't rely on them solely for credit monitoring. I use LifeLock for that because they are proactive, not reactive. Plus free credit monitoring is worth exactly what you pay for it.

They also falsely advertise that your loan inquiries won't impact your score. They do in fact result in a hard impact on your credit report because you are actually applying for the loan, not just checking your rate. Credit Karma makes no commission without you actually getting the loan. I applied for and received a loan from Lending Club. I applied directly through the Lending Club website because I'm already a customer. I have a loan from them that has four payments left. My newest loan was approved and funded on the 14th of November. I was poking around the Credit Karma website about 10 days later and for kicks and giggles I was checking my rate on a personal loan. I didn't have a clue at the time that I was actually applying for the loan, but checking my rate resulted in another application for a loan from Lending Club. LifeLock alerted me about the loan application, I confirmed it was me because I thought it was the previous loan I did get approved for. After logging in to the Lending Club website I noticed the loan number on my account and that I wasn't approved for the loan. Thanks a pantload Credit Karma. I got a hard inquiry and the denial of a loan on my credit report. Plus whatever ding that caused to my credit score. I hope your commission was worth it.

I won't get any more rate inquiries from Credit Karma, nor will I apply for credit cards through their site. They earned their last commission from me. Just beware that checking your rate for a loan may mean you're actually applying for that loan.

Updated review

So they told me the check was sent the 7th of July and told me to wait 7-10 buisness days and it will be to my house on or before the 21st and if it wasn't that I should call. On the 21st it didn't arrive so I called they told me to wait 24 hours and call back if I didn't get it, so I waited till the 22nd, on the 22nd it didn't come so I called and they said wait 24 hours, and it didn't come so I called. They said to wait 24 hours so I did. I didn't come in on the 23rd and so I called, they said wait another 24 hours, I said but tomorrow the 24th is Sunday, they ignored me said call tomorrow today is the 24th and I called and they said no wait another 24 hours, I asked if they could reissue the check they said they could but but won't because what if it comes the 25th or 26th. Then they said We have no information available it's been escalated to the highest team which is what I was told may 31st when this all happened to begin with. I asked to speak to the highest team, they said I can't. And they can't connect me or tell me any information. I'm lost on what to do.

Stole my money
July 21, 2022
Previous review

I opened and account from them. Then they said my account would be unlocked in 10 days, they did the for 2 months, then they closed my account and would send a check, I waited the full 14 days, and yet nothing came. It's now been 3 months and they still have no idea when my money will be returned to me. They keep telling me to wait another 14 day. They also won't tell me why my account was locked to begin with and kept saying we have no information every day. Honestly horrible services
