“I don't know why people are saying it's bad...”

Lydia S.
1/19/21

Most of the people saying it's 1-star are just people who hate math and reading, which is understandable... but would you rather do IXLMath where it does NO explaining, NO help, just "you got this wrong and I'm not gonna tell you why."? I thought not. You can get coins from lessons to play games, and it gives you a break in the middle of tests. They explain your incorrect answers, and it adapts to your level of reading/math. It's not really as bad as people are saying it is!

Bored of torturing your student through the good old fashioned way? No worries because I ready is the most modern and innovative way to kill your student's last brain cells! An amazing gift for teacher's day!

Iready is so fun i learn alot but even thought sometimes I get it wrong I learn from them, and it gets funner and funner and people who say the opposite, should think again and learn to appreciate what the teachers do for them.

This program does not help my child with her ELA or Maths skills. She doesn't learn anything from the site even though she does all her lessons and she says she forgets the lessons immediately, even though this site is used to help with her Maths and ELA skills she doesn't learn anything from the site.

The only actual good reward game is cat stacker. And heres an example about how they want to "civilize" you. They say that you have to answer 1 + 2 as 1 + 2, no equivelents like 2 + 1. ITS THE SAME FREAKING EQUATION YOU PIECE OF (insert swear word im not allowed to cuss.)
Curriculum Associates says that Robert E. Lee is a fricking hero?

As a 5th grader, I'm stuck with this thing like I ready, I don't understand why I ready is required. All it does is when you get 1 or two answers wrong, YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE LESSON AGAIN. It's so annoying! Plus *tracking minutes* WHY DO TEACHERS NEED TO TRACK OUR MINUTES ON A PROGRAM THAT DOESNT EVEN TEACH US? Just ban I ready already. The characters sound creepy and act like 2 yr olds.

I-ready lessons are idiotic. I-ready treats middleschoolers as 2 year olds. I am an animator myself and this website is discusting and poor quality. In reading the story takes up too much time than the actuall lerning part. I know that its just trying to make it fun but its just a waste. This website makes me want to cry because of the storyline, one assignment takes me half an hour or more! I wish my (GREAT) teacher would stop using this even in online learning. I reccomend Prodigy (not sponsered), its an actuall fun app and its free!

We the people of the the A. I. R. Association, in order to form a more perfect school environment, establish a petition, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the anti-iReady cause, promote the general anti-i-Ready mood, secure the blessings of childhood to ourselves and our prosperity, do ordain and establish the idea for i-Ready free schools in the state of North Carolina.

We children of the formerly amazing public school system request you to hear our complaints. We A. I. R. Members all have come together with a common source of conflict in our daily lives- i-Ready. It helps in the least.

"According to Curriculum Associates, the company that makes i-Ready, these assessments are an 'adaptive Diagnostic for reading and mathematics [that] pinpoints student need down to the sub-skill level, and [provides] ongoing progress monitoring [to] show whether students are on track to achieve end-of-year targets.'"

They say.

In reality, it is the exact opposite. We wonder: The people that assigned this to us- did they try it themselves? The animation is just one minor flaw in the system. First, the test designed to take thirty minutes stretch on and on for hours. And I won't even mention the dreaded, waste-of-time 'brain breaks'. Balloon breaths. Really, people?

There are many other reasons, such as the fact that people already know the things 'taught' during i-Ready. There are reasons, people! Look at the facts, think your decision through before renewing i-Ready or using it yourself for teaching.

Listen to the students. We need a voice.

Ive used the crap basically for 3 years and it sucks, literally. The people in the lessons take so long to freaking speak. They give the worst questions and yet claim the dumbest answers to be correct. You cant even escape this garbage by being on an alt tab because it always pauses. The most annoying part is when you have to retake a whole 2 hour lesson JUST BECAUSE OF 3 WRONG QUESTIONS. I hope Iready gets banned.

Please don't even think about using I-Ready to educate anyone. The website itself is horrible. During a lesson, I-Ready is almost guaranteed to freeze, forcing you to close the tab, open I-Ready again, and get back on the lesson. The stories they try to put into the lessons are a big disappointment as well. The "stories" are poorly animated cartoons that serve no purpose to learning about the topic at all. You are forced to watch a boring, choppy animation that takes about 30 seconds, just for it to freeze again because I-Ready's rusty website can't handle the slow, animated characters it makes you watch. The actual learning aspect of the program is ok, but I can't take anymore of the quality of the website. Overall, please do not use this absolute broken thing of a website. Every 30 seconds the program will most likely freeze, you will be forced to watch animations with stupid plots that serve no purpose and are not even entertaining. Please use another learning program such as TenMarks which are actually good to learn from.

It takes forever to actually DO the problem, like what would take me 10 minutes on paper took about 2 hours on this. Then when you finish it, heck, you have to do A WHOLE NOTHER LOAD OF CRAP! And what do you get out of finishing the lessons? Well, you get coins, and the coins you can use for games in the app but the games are crap and they are only 2 minutes long so when your done you have to go through about 5 hours more of work for a game. DO NOT GET THIS APP. Get a different one. Oh and also, can we talk about the fact that if you do enough looking and detective stuff you can find out the people in the lessons are in COLLAGE? This is so stupid. 20 year olds cant figure out what 30 divided by 10 is. What hole were they trapped in for the last 15 years?

This place is torture. If you go to both math and reading, The instructions and practice doesn't count in your grade in Iready. Only the quiz does. If you go to my progress and click on completed work, you can only see the percentage on the lessons, but you can't see what you or the students or someone else's problem they got wrong. I-ready also causes SUICIDAL THOUGHTS, ADHD, STRESS, ANXIETY, AND MORE BAD STUFF. I do not recommend this app. 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000% garbage. I hope this app burns in lava like the other stressful and bad apps.

When I was doing iready for my school, I was so close to getting a 100% score and when i got it "wrong" when I was RIGHT for the MILLIONTH TIME and one of the lessons like 5 lessons revolving around the same thing in iready it was asking for the TOTAL and it gave me (im making a dumb question up that dumb iready not even a toddler can get wrong but iready can get wrong) 1 + 1 and the total was 2, but it said first, we need to subtract WHEN IT IS OBVIOUSLY 2 and iready should be banned because iready sucks and i dont want to see it in my life, not to mention the dumb voices they have on some of them, IT IS SO ANNOYING! Plus the dumb patterns they might be trying to hypnotize kids for all I know! (The first picture looks like an ugly face if you look at it correctly, that is iready).

I've been forced to use iready for over 4 years now, and after that I have a few problems.
First off is just basic nitpicks. It was clearly very cheaply made, the desperate attempts at jokes just make everything worse, and they occasionally get some things wrong, "Wow, that mushroom is 1 pound! That's gotta be some kind of world record."
On top of that, iready has some fatal flaws in its teaching, they expect the student to understand everything that they're supposed to answer. When you get something wrong, it doesn't give any real help, it just tells you the same thing that you already did. Another important issue is sometimes the right answer is wrong. On several occasions I've answered a question, iready says it's wrong, it shows me the answer, and it's the same thing that I answered.
But most importantly, iready is just really boring. Other teaching resources have something that makes them entertaining. Iready just doesn't have any of that. Hundreds of students all over the world, including myself, all collectively agree that iready is a waste of time for everybody involved, and it should stop being shoved down our throats.

I-ready is something I don't like. I am NOT saying this because I hate math, Or reading, (although math is annoying) but because i-ready is a waste of time... i-ready doesn't give out any evidence of the answer, and if you get like 3 questions wrong, it counts as a fail. Even though there are so many reviews and things on google saying that i-ready if bad, my teachers keep making people use it. For me my teachers are making me do 30 minutes. Ever since I have been using i-ready my math grades have been going down from b's, to like a C. And on the diagnostics, there isn't a skip button for the people to just be quiet! The beginning video is a girl named Vivi pretty much telling us how smart she is, and the website thinking that would help. I don't know what the teacher is even there for all she says is take your time in a million different ways. The brain breaks are also kinda stupid. Like bruh im only on question 10! SHUT UP ALREADY! And i have to click start like 5 times before we actually get to the brain "break". I'm pretty sure i know how to flip a page on iready! Stop making me "learn" how to do something i've been taught how to do the last one million times! Teachers stop making you students do this, and Parents/guardians, DON'T make you children or grandchildren etc. do I-ready. Also sorry this was really long.

One, some of the reviews aren't made by teachers like me. That part was not about the review but, now onto the real review.
One, the answers to most of the questions change. For example, you'll accidentally put in "26" for 5x5. When it asks you the same question again and you put in "25" it will say it's wrong.

Two, the characters are creepy and stupid. They always give stupid answers.

Three, racism. The I-ready app is so racist. It discriminates against anybody else that is not american. And just plain old american.

Four, the wrong answers. In reading or the Math program, it will say that six multiplied by six is not 36. It will say it's something else.

And five, the treating of babies. If you're from the age of 8-12 while using this, you will understand what I'm saying. You have to do things that are either two to three grades down from where you currently are. It's unfair and makes it way too easy. You cannot do things meant for your grade which is quite stupid. Anyways, this should be a deleted app.
