“I don't know why people are saying it's bad...”

Lydia S.
1/19/21

Most of the people saying it's 1-star are just people who hate math and reading, which is understandable... but would you rather do IXLMath where it does NO explaining, NO help, just "you got this wrong and I'm not gonna tell you why."? I thought not. You can get coins from lessons to play games, and it gives you a break in the middle of tests. They explain your incorrect answers, and it adapts to your level of reading/math. It's not really as bad as people are saying it is!

I have done I-ready since 4th grade and I'm perfectly fine in 6th. I think the problem is teachers aren't giving enough time to some students and kids these days are just irresponsible. To all of you 1 star raters, ask about an IEP plan.

Tip for consumers:
Just do what the teacher tells you to do.

I ready is not the best for schools for i like math and i really like reading but i ready makes it painful even if your question is wrong it doesn't explain how to do the math and it is trying to make it look cool but its not some of the things in ready like in one lesson theres a poster with a kid wearing sun glasses but i searched up "cool kid in sunglasses" and i quickly found it overall its horrible for me and it gives me headaches. The sunglasses kid in down below but i did not take a screen shot of the lesson

I am a middle school student and I think I ready is a waste of time because 1 lesson can take up to 20-30 minutes, many teachers make thier students do 4+ every week so it takes forever. The lessons don't help you learn, and the lessons aren't even what we are learning in class...in math right now we are learning one-step inequalities, but in I ready I am "learning" in I ready is "write and evaluate Algebraic expressions" which are two very different things. I hope you found this helpful. If your teachers assign it you still have to do it but if you are going to buy it willingly, use a different app. Thank you.

Tip for consumers:
Don't buy it!

You know some of those things that you make you scream this is what iready does to people. 1. The lessons take forever like 20-40 minutes. 2. If you miss anything on the test the answer is not explained and I have has multiple times were I fail so therefore I have to redo the lesson over again and still miss it the second time around.

So I've been on I-Ready for a few years now and I feel like it just babies one another. Even when you get the question right, it still says the answer. And it reads the answer for you. Another thing is that you don't learn anything. And when you get the question wrong it just makes you feel bad. It sucks, and it "Tracks your minutes". What's the point of that?! Overall, I say it should be taken down.

The storylines are too long and are a waste of students time. I get that the objective is to get students learning but it's actually so boring and unproductive. If they were to try and entertain the students better, they should at least not make the characters dialogue so long. They do not help students understand what mistakes they made during their quizzes at all. When you fail at a quiz, they make you re-do the lesson over and over until you get it right, but if the lesson that taught them how to do the quiz let them fail it, isn't the lesson the thing that was supposed to teach them in the first place? At least make another, much more thorough lesson for students who have failed the quiz instead of making them redo the thing that failed to teach them. This website should not be mandatory if classroom because of so many issues. What's worse is that they do nothing to change their issues. Please fix how you run your lesson and listen to reviews.

It's trash because if you get only three wrong you have to do the lesson again you and it's literally HELL you have to sit there for hours just to fail on the test. It's also so boring the animation looks like it's from 2012. I suggest not using this site.

Iready is not a good curriculum. It goes over the same concepts over and over even after they are mastered. You cannot see your child's progress or upcoming lessons. You have to refer to your teacher for everything. My child is very bored with this curriculum and even prefers IXL over it. The customer service representative was also very unhelpful when I called to inquire about my daughter's progress.

It causes stress and takes WAY to long to complete. As a almost middle schooler who is using this annoying and stressful program, I would rather do state testing daily then this. The whole thing is a waste of my energy. Teachers, move away from this program, for your students. It was fun when I was in first grade. Back when I enjoyed everything. Now that I am more mature, I see the pain of I-ready. The stress and anxiety. Therefore, DON'T USE I-READY!
Edit: I have matured, and I have thankfully improved my writing skills, as well as stopped using this program. Last time I was on there, I saw that it said that 29 x 49 = 1937, even though the true answer is 1421. To put it short, I-Ready has a lot of errors. Teachers, even though my 5th grade self was dramatic, please try to find an alternative to I-Ready.

I am a smart student usually, but my teacher has been assigning i ready assignments. Over explaining is sciencetifically proven to be unhelpful and confusing. When you are trying to learn you should have the choice to ask for help, But even if you do understand the stupid over explaining lesson confuses you and you end up getting the question wrong.

So, I-Ready is a torture device used to suck the energy out of students. Wanna know why? First of all the "characters" are lifeless bootleg sesame street characters that make AWFUL dad jokes. When they're on screen it takes 20 minutes and they take up most of the lesson. Also, there are frequent misspellings like the word "kow." What? They also spelled what I think means Apple the wrong way. Here's how they spelled it: allPe. Even auto correct can't guess it. One more awful thing is you can't go back to the previous question on the diagnostics. If you miss-click and pick the wrong answer OH NO, looks like you failed. Its boring as f*** and sucks the life out of people. DON'T USE!

So... Where do I begin? Well, their jokes at the end are just terrible and the audio with the image doesn't match up with the person's mouth. Another reason I absolutely hate Iready is their lessons and quizzes are so long. My eyes always hurt after looking at the screen for so long. Under the Iready logo it should say, "Side effects: Headaches and eye strains." Another reason that could just be for me but whenever I get a question wrong they make it sound like it's the end of the world or you just sinned against their fricken math culture. I hope teachers see this so they don't have to put their kids in this torture like I am in. I hope my teacher sees this too.

This is such a cheap waste of time. WHY do teachers still use this it makes students/me stressful and we have to do 1-2 lessons every day. Everyone at my school talks about how bad iready is. If you put this in front of Frank Woods it would be worse than the chair. So ya this app is soooooooo… bad.No Cap.

Wow, this is filled with students ranting and losing their mind, but 5-star reviews on i-Ready means two things: One, they are a criminal, or two, they are the corrupt person in a board of education you've been looking for. It doesn't teach anything (an example would be it disguises one-digit subtraction as fraction subtraction.) It is graded, there is a bug which when you get a grade of 70/100 (the lowest passing grade,) it says you didn't pass it and you have to do it over. Speaking of doing it over, that is completely unnecessary and I could rant on all day just about that "feature". My school (I'm in 4th grade) says you have to do 1 lesson and 45 minutes of it per week. What a stupidly trash site! Someone named Vivi P. Said it was good, well I am discrediting her by name. Sorry, but you're wrong Vivi.

Wow, 12.5k views and 35 helpful votes?!?!? This review was a joke and now I'm in the 5th grade.

IReady is just as bad as Fortnite, it's basically throwing a child in a cauldron and telling them to stay there and only eat rotten bananas for 6 years. IReady is torture to everyone. I've tried so many things to get it banned but the school blocks everything but luckily I switched schools so I don't have to do it anymore :) iReady makes kids suffer I hope you get sued for *******$.

I $#*!ing hate I-ready. It is so boring and it has no fun in the website. When you're doing a quiz and you get 3 or more questions wrong, It $#*!ing fails you, and the worst part is your teacher giving you 30 minutes of I-ready. That's like 30 mins of a nightmare

I'm sure many of you do iready. This program makes you cringe and punch the screen down. Every single kid at my school HATES iready. Unforturenatly, this piece of crap is enforced tuesdays and thursdays. It takes 20-40 mins. The animation looks like a 5 yr old drew it. Speaking of 5 yr old, that piece of crap treats u like it. If you haven't tried this dumpster looking, abysmal, ugly, piece of garbage DON'T. If I could rate -1,000,000,000 I would. STAY AWAY. Parents, it will want to make your kids kill themselves

I'm Farlander Y. Just wanted to say that quitting iready cured my depression. One of the many reasons i quit school entirely and went to a school that opens the day with playing Minecraft for 1 1/2 hours. Paradise

Tip for consumers:
Don't use it unless the teachers tell you to. If the teachers tell you to, do the bare minimum required. (In my case, that was 18 minutes a day, 9 for both subjects.)

Its just horrible, Idk who made this torture device, idk why my teachers are so ok with it. If they try it I am sure it will make them want to poop in the dumpster rather than doing this crap. Its has some really dumb questions. It looks like they made it in 2001, and most of all, they are trying to make it fun, but like I said... Its a torture device.

1. The reading section is so boring 2. The characters voices where done in the middle of heatwave in a daycare 3. The vocab lessons are super annoying, at the first part it says: " if you don't know what a word means, look inside the word, look around the word, or look beyond the word" while the annoying animation played
