Dell's reputation has significantly declined, with many customers expressing dissatisfaction with both product quality and customer service. While some users appreciate the performance of their devices when functioning properly, a pervasive sentiment reveals frustrations over receiving incorrect products, unresolved technical issues, and inadequate support. Customers frequently report long wait times, ineffective assistance, and poor communication from service representatives. The overall trend indicates a growing discontent with the company's responsiveness and reliability, prompting many former loyal customers to seek alternatives. This feedback highlights a critical need for Dell to enhance its customer service and product quality to regain trust.

The product is bad quality. Recent purchase required change of touch screen, keyboard and speakers.
The speakers continue not working and now they will change the motherboard.
I asked for an option to leave a review and the answer was the following "It seems the reviews are closed for now, you can contact Dell Care after a few months and check."
No Dell reviews. You cant trust the product.
This is the worst product I bought in my entire life. The company should be shut down. The hard drive needed to be replaced, the internet car replaced, the charger not working, and the lap it heating up a possible fire hazard. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT IS GARBADGE. I bought it in sept. Never used it, needed it for school and started it up, and it was a piece of garbage I had two techs come twice to fix it, and it is still not working, DO NOT BUY THIS GARBADGE.
Ordered Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 from Best Buy and received Oct 6,2021. Dell doesn't care when you bought it, warranty starts the day they ship not when you purchase. My computer shipped from Dell in August 2021 so although I did not buy it from Best Buy until Oct 2021 my warranty ran out in August. One year after purchase, typing on the keyboard causes the computer to shut down and reboot. I didn't figure out why it was shutting down at first. I use the laptop for photo editing and don't type on it a lot, mostly wacom pad and pen work. Called Dell today to ask: 1) Why did my warranty expire after 8 months not 12? 2) Why does a 1 year warranty/service plan renewal that the site says is $92.65 turn into $134.95 when I add it to the cart? 3) Why should I have to pay at all for a computer with a defective keyboard? I didn't get an answer to any of the aforementioned questions by the way. I did get told they would not renew my warranty/service contract until the broken keyboard was fixed. I still have a 13 year old HP sitting on the floor next to me that still works, it is just not have the horsepower to process photos. For everything else that 13 year old computer still works fine including, get this, I can type on it! Moral of the story is don't by a Dell, they are junk. This is the third one (shame on me) I have had in 20 is years and none of them have been as good as the HP, Acer, Sony or even Compaq(back in the day). Other than the keyboard problem, the computer will overheat and lock up as well. I would give more detail, but, I don't have a functioning keyboard.
I made an order for three items from Dell over three months ago. One item arrived and the other two never appeared.
I have repeated emailed, chatted and called Dell (running up international call charges) and Dell to no effect. I have wasted many hours and dollars and Dell still have my money and I don't have my product!
I have been repeatedly told that they will resolve the situation, send my products, escalate the situation, get back to me etc etc. They never do. After all these broken promises I eventually asked them to cancel the order, repeatedly and in desperation I ordered the items elsewhere. They haven't cancelled the order and they haven't returned my money.
DO NOT order anything from DELL! They are a terrible company! You risk losing your money!
Given this ongoing experience I now see the only solution is to publicize my experience as widely as possible on the internet. Maybe I can shame them into returning my money!
I ordered a Dell laptop online expecting to pick up the parcel well before Christmas- this was ordered in mid-November. I received notification that there was a delay and that my address info needed to be updated. I was on hold for 2 hours trying to change my address- which was never approved despite submitting a formal written request. After I was notified that my request was denied, I tried talking to customer service reps for support- I was hung up on two times for no reason. I was not upset, or rude, they simply disconnected me and never called me back. I was so frustrated that I decided to cancel my order rather than try to spend who knows how many more hours getting the address updated. Oh they also do not allow packages to be sent to parcel holding facilities- so they will just drop off in front of your apartment buidling (not in mail room) if you are not their to receive the package. So yeah, I cancelled. Now, I'm on the phone waiting to confirm that I will receive the refund. Once again, I'm on the phone for 2+ hours and have been bounced around from department to department 5+ times. I will never buy a dell product again. This is so terrible, I honestly am shocked because I love their product.
Oh well, I made the decision to jump ship and go to the Apple camp. I had never used a MacBook before, I was 100% on Windows.
I had three really bad experiences with Dell - now I am done with it:
1. In Nov 2019 I received from our IT a Latitude which had a battery life of max. 2 hours and was spinning the fan very loudly when using MS Teams with video. It was just a very poor experience overall.
2. In Summer 2020 our IT then switched me to a Precision 15 inch. This one had its mainboard replaced three times. I re-installed Windows three times, and still after a couple of weeks it got really slow and I had Wifi issues. Standby and Hibernate never really worked, I had multiple times a very hot laptop with no battery left in my bag, after I just had closed the lid and put it in the bag. And no, for the ones now telling me that the settings were not right - I had spent hours and hours trying any possible setting and online tip I could find
3. In September 2022 I received a Precision 17 inch. I needed to re-install Windows 11 for company reasons, and here again, no standby / hibernate - it cold restarted every time from hibernate, and I lost all of my open files/work.
Just to be clear: I consider myself a regular office worker: MS Teams, Outlook, Office 365 online and Office Windows Apps make 95% of what I use.
I now use a MacBook - it really is incredible - why? IT JUST WORKS! I can work for a whole day on battery. Standby/Hybernate/Sleep NEVER is a problem, it wakes up in <1sec. It is just such a piece of mind - i can finally concentrate on my work, not on my ridiculous Dell - Intel - Windows - buggy Firmware and buggy Driver combination Dell and Microsoft and Intel cannot get under control.
Bye, Dell, Bye Windows, Bye Intel - you just can no longer control the complex monsters you have created.
Shame on you Dell. Horrible customer service.
I ordered my son in law a 27" monitor last year for Christmas in white. And another this year for Christmas but accidentally got the wrong color. I ordered on Nov 20th. It arrived on Nov 23rd. I chatted this morning about an exchange and was told that you don't offer exchanges passed the 30 days from the order date.
Every major retailer offers extended returns and exchanges at Christmas. And, it's the DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS, not 15 days or 30 days. I don't want my money back, just a different color for the same price I paid. It's $50 more now.
I could have exchanged it had I purchased it at Best Buy or any other retailer that carries Dell.
Greedy. I have purchased three PCs and two large monitors from you but will no longer purchase any Dell products.
When i first bought dell inspiron it was working well for like a month. Then my mic stopped working computer became really slow and my battery only lasted for like an hour. I reached out to dell and they came to my house and changed literally almost every part and it did not solved anything. They made me reformart(reset) my computer like 5 times too. Didnt solve anything. Made me install all the updates after reformating like 5 times wasting like a month before they replaced my computer. After that the new computer was much worse than this. My mic still didnt work computer was slow even the battery stilll drained fast. After a month about servicing ad begging them to change my computer they gave me another computer. I hoped this computer would be good. Battery lasts for like an hour still mic works on and off and i cant download any games cause if i download the whole computer jus crashes. And now when i connect my bluetooth it disconnects after a while on its own. Even after reaching out to dell they troubleshooted for like a week and couldnt fix the problem.
If anyone is thinking about buying dell, dear godd please please DONTT.
I have been buying Dell desktops for upward of 30 years and this one will probably be my last one. My next desktop may be an Apple. To start with, I generally use 2 or more monitors. This last one I bought for two monitors. I was very unpleasantly surprised that unlike prior purchases which used to have the same connections for each monitor they were different on this computer. It required me to buy a different cable for the 2nd monitor for $50 that didn't work. Just another way to make more money off of us.
That goes into my next problem, SUPPORT. It used to be AMERICAN gold support which was 24/7/365 and was exemplary. Now it's Indian support. Now our cultures are different so while we may be speaking the same language we often understand things differently. That usually means 2 to 3 times the time to get an issue resolved. Gold is also supposed to be the next level up in expertise. This one time, trying to resolve that cable issue, I got this girl who was obviously new and incompetent. No way she belonged on the Gold team. It got to the point where I spent almost an hour demanding she speak to a supervisor or bring one in on the call. She went to the super and in 5 min she was back saying that cable wouldn't work on my computer. So all my time with here was a waste of time and extremely frustrating.
The DVD tray often won't come out when I want to use it.
The screen freezes up about once a week and I've got to restart the computer.
The sound goes out 2 to 3 times a week and again, each time, I have to restart the computer.
The keyboard sticks and keeps repeating buttons I press, numbers, letters, symbols, backspace, space bar. Very annoying.
I used to love Dell computers and dealing with their tech support. Now I'm looking for another company. To anyone who reads this, I recommend you avoid Dell. I hope that Dell reads these reviews.
I bought an laptop from them and honestly I liked it, so far didn't had any major problems with it. I am using it every day for a job and personal stuff, so I am using it a lot. Like most of comments that I read here, I didn't liked customer service that much. Overall average
I bought a laptop that came with a year warranty. I had some light computer work with it, maybe 40 hours worth tops, and then the laptop shut down and wouldn't turn back on. I contacted Dell to replace. Initially, after trouble shooting, they offered to send a refurbished replacement.
I received a box a few weeks later full of desktop computer parts. I called and told them the error. It was at that point when Dell agents told me my warranty had expired. I told them that it was by error I received a box of parts and couldn't understand why I couldn't exchange the error for a laptop and why they now were saying the warranty expired. I was within the year, and provided proof with receipt. I have been attempting to get someone on the line for over a week to understand the issue and send me a replacement. To date, over and over again, all that I hear is that my warranty is expired, they no longer can exchange the laptop and have gone as far as blaming me for the error in computer parts that arrived at my door.
Never Ever Ever buy a Dell. Their service department is crude, mean, hostile and unwilling to help. There is NO INTEGRITY at Dell. Save yourself the headache and hole in your pocket.
My two Dell computers are great. However I will never buy another Dell computer because of the relentless McAfee pop ups that I can't get rid of no matter how hard I try.
Bought a new laptop and it came with a bad battery that did not charge. I contacted customer service to get unit replaced, the process is still ongoing, terrible exeperice, first and last time Dell customer. They are the worst to deal with. I tried to leave a review on their website but they won't publish it... so scummy.
I bought a Dell Laptop in February of this year. The product stopped working overnight in October. I filled a warranty claim. Dell returned the product unrepaired saying that the repair cost was beyond the value of the equipment. I am here with a unusable machine still under the warranty coverage. I called Dell customer service at least 5 times. There were completely useless. They kept on saying that the laptop has physical damage and that is not covered under warranty. Nothing can be farther away from the truth. The laptop has no physical damage whatsoever. Dell refused to honor its warranty. This is unfair and frustrating. I feel ignored by stupid policies designed to avoid responsibilities. So frustrating. I run a business and I purchase computer products on a regular basis. I will never ever buy Dell product again and I will tell everybody I know to avoid them at all cost.
Do you know why the reviews on the Dell website are mostly positive? They're written by Dell. You can't leave a review unless you install their proprietary bloatware! Isn't that nice! Oh, and you can't leave a review more than a few weeks after your purchase, so when it breaks and their (complete lack of) customer service won't help you? You're on your own, AND you can't warn anyone about their garbage products or garbage customer service.
I don't care what kind of deal you think you are getting. Avoid Dell.
1. My order label mailing address was not the address I entered online and they changed my "The East Mall" to "The e mall". Courier tried twice but couldn't deliver.
2. It usually includes Windows support for Lenovo, Acer, and Asus, even if they just reinstall it for me it's acceptable. But Dell is asking me to upgrade my service plan or pay for each request.
3. My laptop has keyboard marks and I'm afraid it's from overheating. But they transferred my case to a paid cleaning services and closed my case without providing any advice.
Update: It's been10 months since my Dell Purchase – We've had several problems now, not just the touch pad. We've made numerous calls to Dell (hours on a phone), had 6 different technicians to our home, sent the computer back for repairs twice, and replaced it once. They sent back a "refurbished" device even though I purchased "new". The problems continue, as well as additional ones!. I think replacing the computer with a new one would be more cost effective after all this. Makes me wonder if Dell knows a new computer would result in the same problems. I feel they are trying to delay until my warranty runs out. SERIOUSLY - do you want to put yourself through this!
I bought Dell 10 years ago. 2 years later, after many 3-4 hour service calls and numerous tears, I bought a different computer. No problems. Christmas 2021, I decided to buy my husband a computer. A friend, who is a computer tech by trade, suggested Dell. I bought one of Dell's "premier" computers and we've had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS from the beginning! At 3 months, in an attempt to repair the device, phone support has remotely accessed the computer 4 times, 4 technicians have come to our home, and we sent the computer back to Dell's repair department. The touch pad still does NOT work! They tell us it is working but as soon as we hang up the phone it stops working! When purchasing, FIRST thing I asked the rep was "can I return the computer if it does not work?". He guaranteed me a "YES! I should get more than one days use for $2000! DONT buy DELL!

We will never purchase another product from this company. My son saved for over ayear to purchase a gaming computer and it came with a 12 month warranty ($3,500.00). At 13 months, it died. DEAD, nothing he can do to fix it. Dell customer support told him they could not help him and that he could buy some support information. Are you kidding me?! Buy? You sold a $3,500.00 computer and at 13 months you offer no advise, no support until my son pays you?! You are the lowest of lows when it comes to customer service and support. You are a disgrace to deal with and your products are substandard - which is why you don't stand behind them.
Spent last 4 hours trying to buy 2 computers. Have been passed around to 13 different people in India and they still can't get the order right but when I ask for someone in the US they hang up on me. Tried to order on line with problems, the chat person from India couldn't help and was so busy with others that he kept ignoring me. The phone recording keeps say to try on line or chat. The live person finally helped with order but could not complete it and made me go through an email, then use text code to confirm. Then they screwed up the amount on invoice and another wrong amount on credit card. Credit card put a fraud alert on it.tried calling every Dell number I found and got no where and you can't get a live American on the phone. Those in India were unable to help me. I'm back to looking for 2 new computers.
Bought an Dell Insperon 2 in 1 and I really wish I didn't. Slowwwwwwww! Sometimes it is like watching paint dry. Dell still use rubber covered keys that delaminate. My old Latitude had the same problem where the rubber keys would wear away and leave large depressions in the surface. Don't know why simple hard plastic keys seem so hard for Dell to contemplate. Hard square corners that make using the keyboard very uncomfortable if you have larger hands. The touchpad often refuses to operate and one has to just stop what you are doing and try it again. This sometimes takes a couple of goes.
Had a key delaminate under warranty. Told by service department that defective keys were specifically not covered by warranty which was a lie. They then changed the scenario to "wear and tear". The key involved is a CTRL key which is hardly used. Surface bubbled and then delaminated. Finally after threats to go to regulators and the media, it was referred to higher beings up the food chain who determined that a 20c key wasn't worth the hassle. They confirmed a day for visiting and repairing and guess what...got an email mid morning on the day, saying they had cancelled because they were too busy. This was after I had taken the day off work to cover their "all day" window in which the technician would call. I suppose that this was their way of getting revenge.
Computer 0/10 Service 0/10 Lies 10/10
The time I would spend buying Dell again 0 seconds and wouldn't recommend them to anybody, would even try to actively discourage them from buying one..
Answer: Not upto the mark... felt few hadrware technician are newly appointed were not ble to understand as well as answer the query.
Answer: Cause dell is a complete scam. I regret buying one. Wasted almost a thousand dollars.
Answer: I did. I bought a machine that had hardware issues right out of the box and returned it within the 30-day window. They refunded me 100% of what I'd paid, no problem.
