I tried logging into my account just to get an error message stating that my account had been permanently suspended. I was confused as I had done nothing wrong and was not given any notice or reason for my suspension so I attempted to reach out to them to see what the reason for my suspension was and was ignored. I then reached out again and still the same, no response. Had previously experienced issues with their customer service team as I was scammed and I reached out for support and they gave me an automated response and did nothing to help me. I do not recommend using depop.
Totally horrible...after every logout i need a new passwort, because i will not be recognized as a existing customer...Helpservice is absolutelly not able for support...HORRIBLE!
My account was suspended as I had gotten hacked and not realised
They are refusing to give my account back
And there was money sat on that account from selling my items which they are also delaying to get into my account
I am fuming
Don't buy anything in this website, you will never get it and Pay pal will not help you get the money back.
I lost $90. This is a scam site.
I see the reviews and they seem a little intense. I've been very lucky where I have not had any issued both on the buyer and seller side. I love the community drawn to the app and have score so many goodies.
Full of scammers please avoid at all costs. I contacted the support team and they offer no support. They do not read your emails and send standard responses they have copied and pasted and seem happy to support a scammer over and above genuine people. Do not use this app.
DON'T BUY, DON'T SELL - i had been 5-6 years on depop selling and buying and never had any big issues, until the past months... i kept receiving warning even if it not me who would ask to pay outside the app (and didnt accept because scared they would close my account lol), than receiving another warning when i was talking to my sister on the app, removing item without notice, etc etc... and then today i was updating my posts and they just decided to ban me without notice/reason. I lost 5 years of works building my little online shop and clientele just like that. I have send them emails, and they don't even reply. They don't care about people.
APPALLING customer service. Taking my money and making me jump through weeks worth of hoops to get it back. They randomly claimed a buyer said I never posted them the item, though this was a total lie - the buyer hadn't lodged any dispute, but they took the money from my sale and refunded it to her so she had my item AND her money. They then realised and asked her to pay again, but of course she didn't. Honestly just endless stupidity from the customer service team, no one listened to anything I was saying and they just kept debiting different accounts I have without ever asking my permission. NEVER use this app or expect good customer service again!
I was/am a seller on depop. The app is terrible. It logged me out of the app after a few months, which is fine. However, after several attempts it locked my account for getting the password wrong too many times, again thats fine. Where i have an issue is the recovery and support from the app. I have tried multiple times to get them to send me an email to multiple email accounts and never received one. The q&a responses are no help and I was unable to find a way to contact them directly. I received an email telling me I have a sale and now have no way to get into my account to do anything about the sale.
I have also had issues in the past with trying to cancel orders. I had an item sell that had previously sold on another platform that i forgot to remove from depop. That is my mistake. However, I could not find a way to cancel the order or request the buyer to cancel the order. The only thing I could figure out to do was to message the buyer and inform them of the issue. The item is still not canceled months later and is sitting there telling me its time to ship it. The lack of features and options for help/support as well as just ease of use once you get into the app, at least for sellers, makes it feel like it is incomplete. I am for sure done using this app, at least for now, until improvements are made.
I was selling on depop for not even a year and it was going good till i got banned because of a buyer that had bought from me some months ago and even rated me 5 stars after that depop banned me and kept my almost $900 dollar payment and won't pay me it at all after shipping all my items. PLEASE don't waste your time on this app they can easily ban you for anything and always take the buyers side
I was a seller on Depop for just over a year with a good reputation, good reviews and zero issues.
On Tuesday December 27, I posted a replica (fake) skull head with mounted hardware included on the back. I stated in the title and multiple times in the listing that it was, indeed, not real. The listing was public for three days.
On Friday December 30th, I received an email from Depop stating that the item had been removed per their "Prohibited and Restricted Items" and "infringement on their rules". Within just two minutes I received another email stating that my account had now been permanently banned. I was never given a chance to make it right, if there was a problem or threat.
The only contact I had was through email, and I was passed around to about 4 or 5 different customer service individuals who call themselves "Team Depop". Their customer service is appalling. None of them could even provide a category that the item fell under, as I was told different things.
Per their policy, Depop states that they "will work with a user to rectify a situation", but I was never given that chance. They made an assumption which was a mistake, and I am now no longer able to even get on the app or website. They told me to "consider myself permanently banned", and "any new accounts made will also be banned and reported".
On top of the item that was removed, they eventually told me that I posed a threat to the Depop community. Their allegations are preposterous and demeaning, as I did nothing wrong.
Defamation aside, the biggest issue and my reason for going public is because I sold two items on the platform to one buyer the week of Christmas. The items were delivered yesterday, January 3. Depop was, and still is, refusing to release those funds made.
I have those emails, the screenshots from the Depop communication as well as my information and details on the listing/item in question. I also have the information and shipping information from the last sale that Depop is refusing to release the funds from. I have since posted videos on social media and YouTube calling this for what it is. NO business has ANY right to withhold funds that are yours.
I am willing to do all that I can to be justified and to, most importantly, receive the funds that are mine. I don't know, legally, how they are able to do this as I am not sure what happens to funds sitting idle.
They have since ceased all communication with me. If you use or sell on this platform, I would highly recommend shutting it down because this ludicrous situation could happen to you. I will execute all of my avenues to get what is owed to me.
Depop permanently deleted my account and banned me because I used unrelated hastags for exposure. I have not ever scammed anyone but I got banned for using hastags?! It takes forever to dispute and get my money back when I got scammed by sellers on depop TWICE. Talk about justice? Depop also takes huge amount of fees and charges. Depop tolerates scams but have zero tolerance when people try to get a bit more exposure
DO NOT USE DEPOP! My item got lost using their postal service and they won't refund the amount.
Their customer service is atrocious and as they retain your funds until they feel like paying out, there's nothing you can do.
USE EBAY INSTEAD
I opened an account in the early days of its setup and bought over 100 items for my daughters without any issues. I decided to sell on here a couple of years ago and was great to start with but recently it has gone to pot. They suspend your account Willy nilly and even if you are correct they just act like they are doing you a favour and letting you off with a 3 week suspension. It doesn't matter how much you report someone for selling fakes they don't do anything. Another site I sell on encourage stock photos when items are new but on depop they close your account. I accused them of being ageist as I used a model photo and they encourage you modelling your own. I cannot model them as most are kids and very small sizes. I once used my daughter to model some but just kept getting gross messages from 'boys'. I mentioned to one lad that I was in my fifties and it is my daughter and he just told me to tell her she has a fit body. I quickly removed all photos of her. Out of probably 50 accepted offers I would say 2 have paid so that feature is pretty pointless, and don't get me started on the idiots who offer 10% of the asking price. It could be such a great site if they stopped favouring the big volume sellers of tat and focused more on the small sellers of quality. Oh, and the constant having to bump listings is a royal pain in the but
This app has no protection for their sellers. I sold an item as USED and the buyer said it wasn't as described. Depop took their side and I owed them money. The seller paid way under asking them I had to end up paying them back. Don't sell on here. Better luck on eBay.
Bought an item from someone, only for them to message me and say they never had it. They also "didn't know how to give a refund" despite being on the app for two years. Then they disappeared off into the sun.
I contacted Depop immediately with screenshots of everything, only for them to tell me that I needed to wait a week to file a report, THEN they would message the seller asking them to issue a refund. They wanted t give a blatant scammer a chance, despite them literally saying they wouldn't refund me.
There is NO buyer protection whatsoever. By far the worst customer service I've ever dealt with, I genuinely have a hard time believing these a humans handling complaints and not bots. Now, I'm stuck filing a dispute with my bank and the Better Business Bureau. After years of being on Depop, I'm done. I never have these issues with Poshmark, eBay or Mercari.
If you want to scam someone on Depop, please have at it. You'll get free money, and Depop will do absolutely nothing to stop you.
Thank you for making this such a headacahe to deal with during the holidays, Depop!
I am absolutely furious. I have used depop for over a year now. At the start It was going ok. Now in the last 6 months they keep removing my items.
Just last week I had a buyer who kept messaging me to know where I lived so they can come and collect a brand new eyeshadow palette off me, but I kept replying to the buyer saying I only sell in the app I am not going to say where I live but they kept messaging me so I informed depop. Instead depop did not do anything to the buyer and instead they removed my item and sent me a warning about asking buyers to purchase outside the app even though I provided them proof of the message. When I contacted depop about this they said it was an error on the system & restored my item. Bare in mind over the last few months they removed more of my items that they did no restore in the months before even though I contacted them providing proof and saying none of my items went against their prohibited items but they do not respond. Now today I wake up and see my heels for no reason have been removed apparently cause they have been worn, since when has shoes being worn once been an issue? I've sold before shoes on there but for some reason this time its a hygiene problem?. These heels have been listed for ages as well as my other items that they removed over the last few months.None of my items went against their policies. And now today they sent me "final reminder before they suspend my account " because apparently I am selling outside the app. I've made no sales within the last couple of month so I am fuming why they randomly decide to say this.
Absolutely unacceptable they don't even review reports properly. They don't even check the items properly or why would they just slap you with random reports nearly every other month. 1 day with a so called prohibited item report, another day with an out of app payment for a buyer report, another day with a used item report. Ridiculous To the point now they are saying to me this is my final chance. Well I give up and deleting my account before they decide to suspend for removing another item for absolutely no reason. Also the fees are so bloody high, they say 10% but it's absolute bull how they charge. Awful experience.!
Someone calling herself Princess, obviously with delusions of grandeur, said I'd got multiple Depop accounts and closed my account. They admitted it was untrue but still have not reinstated my account AND MONEY IS MISSING! Terrible reviews on Twitter and Trust pilot, people are fuming. Depop act like children having tantrums with no Management control.
This is kind a website were teenager will make u loose time with maker many offers, once u accept they never pay...seems like they dont understand money is time, and for now i only did loose...Grailed and Poshmark dont mess up with offer, when you accept an offer the client (teen) will be automaticly charged thru is paypal...so if some geek designer from Depop is reading...change it now! Should be DEPOCHE
Answer: Major scam. And not worth the fees they will charge you to sell. Rubbish and rude customer service, and the people buying off you will try to scam you by lieing to Depop and PayPal saying they never received the item. But when you track the tracking number they've signed for the item themselves!
Answer: An apparent availability of items that were not available elsewhere. Turns out that the reason that they were available is that they were fakes and frauds.
Answer: It might be a scam honestly, i would say open a dispute with them. Mercari is a lot better btw, way cheaper. Mercari also holds the money until your item is delivered and you inspect and review the item.
Answer: Right with you on this. Jerks banned my account and I've never had any bad reviews and nothing but positive sales but they will continue to allow scammers to steal your stuff and still haven't seen any of my payments from items I sold since they stopped my account. They said today I should get my money by 7/9/2023 it's 9/6/2023. So apparently they don't even know what month we are in right now. Idiots
